To start out I would not recommend RB Travis to anyone, not even my worst enemy! Below is a list of our experience(s) with this company.

My girlfriend and I recently bought a new condo in Dublin in early September. Unfortunately about a month in we noticed our hot water not working correctly, (only lasting about 3 minutes before going cold). After some investigating, we discovered it was due to a water leak under our foundation. We contacted our HOA, and they said they have to send their own contractor (RB Travis) to fix it.

Duane originally comes out to give a first inspection and give us the run down about what is going to happen. He tells us how this has happened to many of the other condos in our complex and he knows exactly how to fix it. Great! He then goes on to say that if they break a few of our appliances/furniture, his company may not cover them. FIRST RED FLAG.

Then he says we can live there during the time, but we would be restricted to our water use(If able to use it at all). He told us he could put buckets of water in our bathroom so we can use the toilet....NO THANKS.

We decided to move out, (at our own expense) for what we were told would be 2-3 days plumbing, and 2 days for drywall. The job started on a Monday. We were hoping to be back in to our home by the weekend.

A few days goes by... nothing major happened.. We received a phone call each day from Duane providing updates. This was actually great and probably the only positive customer service skill they have.

Flash forward to Friday, RB Travis tells us that the drywall mud is not dry yet and they can not texture/paint/clean. On Saturday we decided to do a little adjustment to our kitchen and cut out a small section, completely unrelated to the plumbing job. We cut a little 4X4 part of our wall out and applied new drywall. We were going to texture it ourselves but we figured we could have RB Travis texture it for us, since they were going to do the rest of the house anyways. They agreed todo the little section in return for not painting a section of our kitchen, since we didn't have the right paint for that one wall.

On Monday we get a call from RB Travis, and they tell us that THEIR work from the weekend was still not dry.. Thats funny, because we were there all weekend and they were not. In addition their drywall was dry on Sunday.. But I get it, they have to lie to keep juggling their quantity over quality jobs flowing in. We figured okay well they have this whole 2nd week to just texture/paint/clean. Should not be a problem right? Friday comes and they finished texturing and painting. They say that Friday they can not clean because everything is still drying.. Another BS excuse. We call them up and let them know how upset we are. They said ""I guess we can drop what we are doing at another job to come clean up yours."" As if we were inconveniencing them. They also tell us we have a $400 invoice for the small little sliver of texturing they did, In which we agreed there would be no charge. After giving them an earful about our awful experience, the invoice does not get charged, as quoted. They come clean up and we get to move back in.. Yay.

But wait

Now today, we noticed our drywall turning yellowish/brown right on the back of our sink, where they had cut. We decided to immediately cut the wall open and look at what it was. See Attached photos. We found a very rapid water leak and lots of black mold. This is a danger to my family's health. We immediately call RB Travis as this is an emergency. Eva tells us they cant do anything about it till Sunday at the earliest. This was not okay as we are ready to conduct a lawsuit. She tells us we need to contact our HOA first. Of course we will but we know they wont respond until Monday. This is a botched job from them and a dire emergency. We would think that they would want to fix is ASAP because of the damage it is causing by the hour. They agreed to send out a technician between 1-4 today. We wait all day for him (Mark) to come. About 3:30 Eva gives us a call and tells us that Mark is running late but will ABSOLUTELY be there today. (Would attach the voicemail to this review if I could) About 4:45/5:00ish we call RB Travis again to see where he was. This was her response. ""Oh we're sorry, He can not make it out until Monday now, So we're going to have to reschedule you to Monday morning."" Great Thanks for letting us know.. At this point I would rather hire my own plumber out of pocket then have this company, covered by our HOA come in. They have been flaky, unprofessional, performed botched work, and don't care.

We are now siting at home, Day after Christmas, with no hot water surrounded by black mold until Monday. If you are reading this review and trying to decide whether to use this company or not. Imagine your family surrounded by black mold, and the company who did it not wanting to fix it immediately. Don't choose RB Travis.

Our bath wouldn't turn off at 7pm on Thursday night, they were able to have someone out by 2pm the next day which was DAYS earlier than another plumbing company we contacted. Carl arrived in the indicated time frame by the dispatcher and he was extremely friendly and personable. He presented his card upon me answering the door, fixed the broken cartridge in less than 30 minutes and was on his way. Highly recommend RB Travis company.

I have now used R.B. Travis on four different locations. From leaks to snaking lines to toilet replacement to solving an air hammer issue. The service I have received has been top notch. Special thanks to Megan, Niko, Travis, Rick and Cole. From beginning to end, the best team around. I now have a go to plumber.
Thank you for the work you did on our home and have a nice Thanksgiving.

I was referred by another company as they did not have the service I needed (jetting). The tech came out, diagnosed and took care of the drain in no time at all. With what was actually needed, no add on service or things I didn't need. He was professional and polite. Thank you!! And, he was there faster than I imagined.

I called HomeServ as I had problems with my sewer line. R B Travis came out and snaked the line then hydro blasted it followed by a camera. The camera picked up minor leaks. Home Serv approved the cost of a new sewer line which delighted me. It pays to have insurance! From beginning to end these guys were great. Michelle was very courteous on the phone. The service was prompt and the guys courteous as well. The work was performed skillfully and professionally. The only thing that could have been better was the cleanup at the end. Loose cement was hosed onto my outside rug and a few chunks of concrete by the back fence but given the big job I was pleased that such a big job was performed in the time they stipulated and I now have a new sewer line! Oh yes and they showed up with masks.

I had a beef with R. B. Plumbing. I felt one of their plumbers did a sloppy job. But they came out immediately and fixed the problem. Thank you, Travis Plumbing! Good job!

Just a quick shout out to R.B Travis Plumbing for the very positive experience. Of course starting off with a plumbing issue at your house NOT being a fun experience, it was a pleasure having ""Travis"" resolve our issue.

After multiple other companies refused or were unable to come out, and to the one company ""Roto-Rooter"" who did come out on the weekend - not only didn't resolve the issue, but they left us in a worse condition (to their credit, they did not charge us for the visit.)

Then I found R.B. Travis and my first impression was a very delightful and helpful Megan who listened to my concerns and issue and quickly scheduled service while making sure she understood exactly what we were requesting.

Travis (yes, related...) arrived on time. He was very friendly, professional, knowledgeable - and just as important, listened to my concerns about the particular work we were asking to be done. He resolved the issue and left our house better than when he arrived.

In our opinion, this is what customer service is supposed to be like. Thank you Travis and R.B Travis for a great job! Of course we hope we don't need you again, But you will be highly recommended for future work.

R.B Travis Plumbing came to our house to fix a clog in our sewer line. We have sewer insurance and they were contracted directly by the sewer company. After fixing the clog caused by tree roots, the technician said that we should install another clean out near the house to prevent sewage from entering the house when the roots inevitably clog the line again in the future. He was certain that this would keep sewage out of the house and he had my wife pay $2500 on the spot for the repair to be done in a few days. The technician put on a hard sell for us to commit and pay on the spot and I presume he gets a commission for having sold us additional services. The problem is that we already have a clean out near the sidewalk between the tree roots and the house. A second clean out only 15 feet away doesn't solve our problem with sewage backing up into the house. It gives us easier access to snaking the house but I was clear that it's a new house (6 months old) with new plumbing and that I wasn't worried about easier access to the house. I called my contractor who confirmed that a second clean out would not prevent sewage from entering the house when the line is clogged by treat roots. When I called back to clarify they were nice and said that they would install a pop-up valve in the clean out so that sewage would overflow in the yard and not the house. I ended up cancelling the new work and bought a pop-up valve on Amazon for $35 and screwed it onto the existing clean out in less than a minute. Sadly, after I cancelled the new work they said that they then wouldn't come out to hydrojet the sewer line which was initially approved by the sewer insurance. I'm not working with the insurance to resolve this. Overall, this is way too much drama and potentially $2500 in unneeded expenses from a company that was contracted by our sewer insurance to simply come out and snake the line.

Love this company! They are now my official go-to for pluming services. I had been a long time customer of Barnett pluming for years. I haven't any complaints about their work but I find they are over priced. They wanted to charge $192.00 for an estimate which would NOT be applied to the job. R.B. Travis only charged $79.00 that was applied to the job. years before I had a huge water leak. As I am insured, it was the insurance company that sent R.B. Travis to my home for a major repair. they did excellent work. However, being a loyal customer to Barnett for years, I stayed with them, MY MISTAKE, but no longer as I am now a loyal customer to R.B.Travis.
