Recommended Customer Reviews
There are not many trustworthy companies when it comes to HVAC business. Luckily, we found Precision who are an exception. Even if they make a mistake, they admit to it and quickly fix it. Exceptional customer service. I hope they continue to provide their customers with same good service.
Misty P.July 2015- This is the first time we used this company. The service was great. Chris, the technician, was very knowledgable and professional. The after hours service fee of 75.00 was cheaper than other companies. They were able to repair the unit on site for a reasonable cost. We will definitely use them again.
Ryan M.When my AC went out, Precision H&A came out and discovered the evaporator coil was leaking freon. Because the repairman didn't have a replacement coil, he added two lbs of freon and said the added freon should keep my home cool temporarily until I could schedule another appointment to have the coil replaced. Quick diagnosis combined with friendly service.
Lisa B.90 degree weather is pretty mild for Austin, but it doesn't make it any more pleasant. So when our A/C started leaking one Saturday morning, we combed Angie's list and Yelp for a reputable repair-guy. Chris from Precision Heating & Air was in our home by noon examining the problem, and we thought the issue was resolved by the time he left. Unfortunately, the leaking continued.
Chris came back later that afternoon and delivered the bad news: He'd taken it as far as he could, and our A/C needed to be replaced. Normally we'd be skeptical about this type of news, but we were aware that our A/C was on its last legs.
The sales rep, Gary, came to our home the next day (a Sunday!) and got us scheduled for a replacement that week. Mando and Adrian arrived on time and did an excellent job.
Everyone was knowledgeable, friendly, and seemed to enjoy their jobs. They had great things to say about their employer, and that means a lot! So while you might be able to find a slightly better deal somewhere else, you can trust Precision Heating & Air to treat its employees well and deliver an important service at a fair price.
Delia S.Nothing like having your A/C go out in a central Texas summer. Precision Heating and Air to the rescue. They came out the next day and diagnosed the issue (dead compressor) and then a lovely man came by to give us the bad news about the cost of a new unit. It's could be hard to write a glowing review when someone comes to tell you that you'll need to fork over more than $5k to get a new unit, but the folks at Precision were very honest about our options and didn't try to upsell us what we didn't need.
Once we decided on the system, their technicians came and installed it the next week. Thankfully, we had a functioning upstairs unit and didn't suffer too much. The two techs were courteous and efficient. They completed the removal and installation of the new unit in a few hours, installed some CO detectors and cleaned up. No, it wasn't fun having to buy a new AC unit, but I am enjoying the cool comfort of my quiet, new, energy efficient unit.
Cory E.In February of 2015 I requested three different Heating and Air companies to come give me quotes on a brand new system. Right off the bat, precision heating and Air was the most knowledgably and friendly company to interact with. They make you feel like they have your best interest in mind and have the expertise to recommend what needs to be done. I ended up going with a conventional zone system installing a second thermostat down stairs, a new furnace (mine was a 97), hvac and insulation (attic need about 7 more inches). I went with a 14 seer carrier that's extremely quiet and efficient. I ended up financing with their in house lender at 0% which is through wells Fargo and got approved within an Hr (even after my bank said no).
Install team came out on a Saturday and got everything done in one day. They were professional and courteous. James Prophit, Joel Galvan and James Sanchez where the guys I remember. The install manager James Sanchez even came by after the install to thank me for my business and make sure everything was working properly. A week or so went by, air was cold and worked well. The new honey well Wi-Fi thermostats they installed are pretty snazzy. You can change your air setting remotely and regulate your energy consumption accordingly (same as a nest thermostat) We shook hands and then that's when all the fun started.
I started calling in service appointments soon after, as my system would do a self-shut down all by itself. This is about the time I met Derek Russell who came out to my residence on a moment's notice many times to evaluate what went wrong. The overflow pan was repeatedly filling up with water causing the system to shut off. He located a crack in the main drainage pan which was replaced as well as warped tubing cause by pressure building from the unit. A man named Todd came out also extremely helpful to take a look as he recommended a trap to help regulate the drainage of the pan. Derek and Todd got the ball rolling on the issue at hand which is when I met David, one of the Main service managers who is another very experienced and helpful HVAC guy. After further analysis David and James Sanchez found the previous builders had put sheet rock over one the main outflow vents disputing the air flow from the new unit. (house is a 97) These guys worked as a team in perfect harmony and got my system rolling again just in time before the weather changed for summer. They added a an additional vent as well as opened up the blocked one and now the system is really churning out cold crisp air.
I want to also note they fixed my drywall from the holes created to wire the new thermostat and replaced my filter for all the trouble. I want to commend Toni and Alex in reception for being so understanding and calming during my service calls. All and all this is an A+ company to do business with, and even if mistakes happen (mistakes that weren't even precisions fault), they will do everything in their power to make it right and that is a company I will do business with again and again. From entry level to management this staff really is on the top of its game, you won't be disappointed you called. Thank you Precision Heating and Air!
My wife and I returned from a trip to Colorado only to come home to a busted AC. We are renters, so our landlords called Precision to the rescue. Within a few days after the initial consult, Mando & Mark were out to install an entire new unit. The guys were courteous, professional and just genuine nice people. At the end of the install, Mando walked us through the system and its features. This is like a top notch system too! You can check the weather from the thermostat.......just saying. They cleaned up after they finished and instructed us on monthly upkeep as well. Major props to Precision on hiring people with great character and skill. Thanks guys for relieving us of the brutal Texas heat.
Kelly M.So I called precision last summer when my air-conditioning went out and they came out right away and blew out the line. When it was time for me to have my air conditioning checked out I automatically called them. They have an amazing maintenance plan with a low start up cost and a monthly amount that I can afford so that I can have ongoing monitoring of both my air-conditioning and my furnace. So they came out today and it was perfect I got free Freon in the air conditioner did a full check out and they cleaned the unit which hadn't been cleaned in years. I can't say how great the customer service is and the guy who came out to do all the work was actually the guy who came and blew out my line and he remembered me and coming here. That is the kind of personal touch everyone looks for when dealing with a company I am so glad that I got this maintenance plan and if you want to hasslefree experience this is the one for you!
Krinken R.Great customer service and honest. I had concerns initially however the owner cleared it up. There were a few follow up things that they never responded to; however overall very efficient. More pricey than competition.
Ike R.3/19/15 - Update: My STR license is still pending, but I am upgrading review as the managers and owner do seem to genuinely care about customer service and making things right. I am however leaving the review online as learning lesson for other homeowners.
3/10/15 - Update: Precision Rep called me up immediately and sent me copies of the service ticket and City Of Austin Permit. He said I was communicated on the electrical issue and this is also noted in the service ticket that I signed off on. He also mentioned they are not electricians.
However, the only mention of concern in the Service Ticket is a hand written comment ""consern! High Voltage is undersized"" Whether or not specifics was something communicated to be verbally at the time is not something I can recall as the installation was in 2011. But this brief hand written note is not specific enough to what this issue is especially if it is a real concern. It should have been something specific like ""Two existing breakers were replaced with higher voltage 40W breakers on existing incompatible wires and it is recommended to get checked by qualified electrician.""
I have submitted a application for STR license today and it will be couple days to be approved or denied. If it gets denied because of this issue, then this review is staying up and it is valuable for other customers to learn from.
3/9/15 Review
I used Precision A/C to replace my whole unit outside and inside up in the attic back in 10/2011. I also recommended them to my neighbor who I recall has some electrical issues as well. During the installation, two 40AMP breakers had to be installed to support the new Carrier AC/furnace.
The reason that I am writing this negative review is because I recently had a home inspection done on my house and was told that there is a code violation of installing 40AMP with the wrong size wires. I recall Precision having some electrical issues during the installation back in 2011 so my assumption is that they were aware of this violation, but never communicated this with me.
This is something that I would trust the AC repair experts to take care of instead of having to hire a 3rd party inspector to find out 4 yrs later.
