These guys are a class A operation all the way. I've owned/operated a home automation company in Los Angeles for the past 16 years, and so have worked with a number of different electricians. Last week, my wife and I were faced with a major electrical mess at a property we recently purchased. Since my usual ""go-to guys"" weren't available, my wife found Power Up Electric on Angie's List and asked me to call them for a quote. It was the best phone call I've made in a long time. I immediately felt like a VIP customer and was given an appointment the same day for a walk through and consultation. Gabriel, the owner, showed up himself for the consultation. He addressed all of my concerns and I was provided with a competitive not-to-exceed quote at the end of the walk through. More importantly, I felt that he genuinely cared about providing excellent customer service and I knew that he would make sure I was happy with everything before he considered the job to be completed. In my opinion, THIS is what makes an excellent service professional!
When an unforeseen issue came up which was technically part of the project scope but was also extra work which wasn't accounted for, Gabriel and his team took care of it with a smile (and no additional charge). They even made a couple last-minute changes for us without adding change orders. I can't say enough about the professionalism, and good old-fashioned customer-first service that we received from Power Up Electric. They have my top recommendation!

All the stars in the sky. We have a very old house and there were signs that the electricity was becoming an issue. I was dreading it. I noticed Power Up working in the neighborhood, checked their reviews and called them. My entire house needed rewiring. We got our proposal and started right away. I was amazed at how painless it was. I was dreading the mess, moving furniture, holes in the walls. None of that.

Gabriel Chan runs a tight ship. His crews arrive on time and work efficiently and neatly. They put down drop cloths, vacuum every night...it was almost like they were never there. Most amazingly, they PATCHED as they went along. Some of what they accomplished seemed almost magical, as little evidence was left that anyone had made changes.

Frank, the lead electrician, was wonderful. He was so nice, explaining everything as we went along and giving me choices about things. His recommendations were spot on. Everything is to code and I have more outlets and lights than I ever imagined. I can see some areas in the house that were always dim.

I can't say enough about Power Up. They have made my life so easy...I can paint the few patched areas at my leisure...no holes. I have absolutely no constructive criticism. Polite, thorough, timely, you name it.

If you need an electrician, don't look any further than Power Up. They are the BEST.

It went Great !!

I was very worried about the permit process. I was afraid of the city inspector snooping around the house looking for hazards n such but the owner of Power Up Electric Gabriel Chan assured me that everything would turn out fine as planned. He was very confident on his team's ability to perform the job by code without further inspection needs.

I called other Electrical Companies like SDS and Mr. Electric of Ventura. Sds took a while to respond to my second question regarding the permit experience. Mr. Electric scheduled me for a quote a week away. Power up was quick to schedule me the next day and explain in detail the permit process.

I am very satisfied with my purchase and with Power Up performance and quality. Great communication. Fast Installation. Very reliable. My Electrical Panel has been working beautifully. I highly recommend them. Martin is Gabriel's son and he is a really cool and intelligent guy he made me feel confident about the project. This is my second experience with Power Up electrical

This is a great company! They did two projects for me. They moved a power outlet in my bathroom. The owner's son did the work. He was so knowledgeable and friendly that I decided to use them again to mount a flat screen TV and shelf. They show up on time and complete the work in a reasonable amount of time. The end result was fantastic.

Excellent work at a fair price. I would definitely use their services again.

We've owned a duplex in the Miracle Mile district for 20 years. About a month ago, we discovered after a routine inspection by the city that our smoke alarms were not to code. We had relatively new (3 years old) battery operated smoke detectors that worked fine but the city requires apartments to have the smoke alarms hard wired. (We lived in the the duplex for seventeen years so were unaware of this rule). Upon completion of the inspection, we were given only thirty days to comply.

After searching on Angie's List we found Gabriel Chan and Power Up electric. We did not have time to get multiple bids on this project, however, we were so impressed with Gabriel's knowledge, customer service and professionalism that we had truly no reservations going into the project. Gabriel was ALWAYS available (either by phone or email) to answer questions and to walk us through the process. In fact, I cannot think of a single time during work hours where my call went to voicemail -- Gabriel always picked up after the first or second ring.

It was a three-day job and involved some intricate scheduling because both units have tenants who not only live there but also work out of their homes. Gabriel's electricians Frank and Jose were incredibly professional, kind and were willing to work around the tenants' needs. They were immaculate in their work and they also handled ALL of the permits required by the city and arranged for the required pre-inspection by the L.A. Dept. of Building and Safety.

It is Monday, 8/31 and I'm writing this review just an hour after Building & Safety signed off on the work. Additionally, I will be meeting with them again this afternoon to get an estimate for another job.

I NEVER take the time to write reviews, but I was so impressed with Gabriel and his company and, in this case, I felt it was important to commend a company that goes ABOVE AND BEYOND what was needed. As you can see, I am already planning to use them again and I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends, family, other property owners, etc.

I found Power Up Electric on Angie's List. They had very high reviews on Angie's List (Top of the class). I spoke with at least 5 electricians to get a quote on an extremely minor switch change. Most of the other electricians did not answer the phone right away, so I had to play phone tag with the majority of the electricians I called. When I called Power Up Electric, they answered the phone right away. In fact every time I called, they answered, so that definitely sets them apart on that point alone. I spoke with Gabriel Chan on Monday and he made every effort to try to move his schedule around to come and see me the same day. He provided great service, his price was very fair. I received several quotes from quite a few electricians and Gabriel at Power Up Electric gave the best quote.
Responsive, Fast, Great Service, Fair Price. I will definitely use Power Up Electric in the Future.

Purchased and Angie's List special to address an outlet that was not working in the living room. 2 and a half hours later Frank and his helper had not only gotten the outlet working, but they'd also isolated an ancient smoke detector that was causing a potential fire hazard, fixed that and moved an outlet in the bathroom that was not up to code. They were so nice and professional and cleaned everything up afterwards. The patching they did was perfect and the new hole Frank cut for the bathroom outlet was exactly the size it needed to be.

Did I mention that they prevented my house from possibly catching on fire?

I will definitely have them back to do other work. Thanks Power Up!

I needed an outlet added to a light switch-Gabe returned my call quickly and sent Frank, the nicest, most knowledgable electrician I've ever met. He came early (!), and quickly added the receptacle, and even gave me some helpful advice about energy efficiency.

Marco and Wilson came to install a ceiling fan and they were professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I have already hired them to do another job.
