At the age of 19, I participated in a computer class at Alu Like, where my instructor, Papa Mika, recognized that office work wasn't my path. He informed me about a program for women at the Richards Street YWCA that focused on non-traditional careers.
The YWCA's N.E.W. (Non-Traditional Employment for Women) program featured women discussing various non-traditional careers, covering fields like carpentry, ironwork, and being a chef. Among the instructors was Carlita Martinez, an electrician, who provided materials for practical experience. She introduced us to a large plywood sheet, pipes, junction boxes, and various wires. Carlita demonstrated how a light switch operates by guiding us through bending pipes, connecting wires, and constructing an electrical box. I realized immediately that this was my calling. For me, it was a complete transformation, a shift in perspective, thinking, ""Wow, this is my passion."".

Working with Charlotte was terrific. She was easy to work with and was able to provide options on the work we needed done. Definitely would work with her again.

I've never used Yelp before and today I decided to and I read the reviews that the company had on here and I gave it a shot and I called Charolette and she called me back right away. Charlotte and Mr. Miyamasu we're awesome, professional and very knowledgeable. They found the source to our electrical problem. From the initial phone call Charolette was very helpful she listened to my issues that I was having, and she explained what could be the problem. She was booked for the day however, she did call me to let me know that she had an opening. They were here a lot longer than what she charged me and they found other electrical issues that were not related to the problem that they fixed as well. Thank you again Charlotte and Mr. Miyamasu. I will definitely keep your number stored and I will be referring anyone that needs electrical things done to you.

Charlotte did all of the rough electrical work for our kitchen renovation. She was very professional, fair in her pricing, and thoroughly explained everything. Her work was top notch. She even came back to assist with some basic wiring mistakes I had made when installing the outlets during the finish work. I highly recommend Charlotte and Power and Light'g! Mahalos, Charlotte!

Trying to DIY isn't always the best decision and after blowing out the outlet to my dryer I contacted Charlotte from Power and Light'g. She was able to stop by the next day and look at the damage and tell me what I could do to fix it as well as give me a fair estimate on her pricing to do the job. She was kind and knowledgeable. She will be coming back to add a new outlet fixture for us as well. I will continue to recommend and use Power and Light'g for any of my electrical needs! In addition I'm always happy to support a women run business! :)

Wanted to replace a lot of our existing fixtures, and after reading the awesome reviews about ""Power & Light'g,"" decided to contact Charlotte (the owner). She was very responsive to my emails, and came quickly to give me an estimate. Charlotte is not only a professional in what she does, but her warm personality makes it so much easier to communicate and work with her. I had a total of 8 fixtures replaced and am so pleased with her workmanship. I definitely will recommend her to my friends, family, and anyone else who needs electrical services.

Awesome Company to do business with. We got stuck with an oven space of an older home that needed to be retrofitted to accommodate our new oven. To our surprise, even with our new 3 prong connection we bought for our new stove, it definitely didn't fit the existing socket in the wall. We were stuck and we were so stressed so when I called a few electricians to get pricing, the Owner, Charlotte heard of our dilemma, she sprung into action and did the work that evening. She's fair and reasonable and is very honest in her top quality work. I will recommend to everyone I know!

Had an outlet blow out due to an accidental short. Charlotte was able to squeeze me in after I had asked a few questions. She was contentious and made sure she got a replacement outlet that would match. She came over and did the work herself checked the wiring and was very personable and gave me some good tips. The price seemed reasonable as compared to other places.

As a designer, I met Charlotte on a previous job site about two years ago. Although our interaction was limited there, she was always professional and courteous. I heard some nice comments about her work from the general contractor.
Fast forward to today, when looking for someone to do some significant electrical work in my own kitchen renovation, I knew that I needed to contact Charlotte. Being a kitchen designer has made me meticulous about communication and details. Charlotte proved to be the right person for the job as she was very detailed-oriented and did not hesitate to make sure we were on the same page. I was concerned about timing and scope of the project, so she brought on another journeyman electrician. They finished within the estimated time and their work was tidy!
All in all, a very good experience. Just remember: Getting an estimate beforehand is necessary, but may take several days.

Charlotte is the BEST! She is courteous, informative, business centered, and easy to work with. We provided her with pictures and messaged me back and forth to ensure she had all the materials the day of the job to get it DONE. She bought all the materials and gave us an outline of what everything costs, what was left over she left with us. We really felt like she was honest- and she went jam the job! There was no time when she ever cruised, she worked all the way through. Awesome job sis, you take all these guys down!
