We called them to come out to install a simple ceiling fan and remove the old one. The technician was very good, but they charged us $499 for the work and an attempt to fix one other fan. He was here a total of 90 minutes! Outrageous! We had to have it installed that day and felt they grossly overcharged us and took advantage of Senior Citizens! I would never call them again!

If I could give .5 star that's all this company would get from me. I needed an extra outlet installed in my condo. Not knowing any better, I went with this company as I think I used them a long time ago and thought they were good, so I went with them again. They were able to come the next day to see what I needed done. The guy showed up on time and was courteous (hence the .5 star I wanted to give) and said they can do what I needed done. I said great, and asked about a bathroom heater fan that was giving me problems. Again he looked at it and went to give me a quote. For the outlet I really needed installed it cost me $900!!!! To have my bathroom heater fixed, he told me $2500!!! Are you kidding me?!?! I went ahead with the outlet cause that needed to be done, but not the heater. Told a friend of mine what I paid for the outlet and he was baffled beyond words. He told me that job should have cost at the most $200. He was able to repair my heater for a total of $250. It works great now and saved me a ton of money!
Powell Electric is a major rip-off!!!! Yes, the electrician are kind and knowledgeable, but come on!!! Way over priced!!!! Will never go with this company again

Really bad. Service call is reasonable but I had a ceiling light go out. They diagnosed the problem. Said it needed replacement. Quoted $1,800. Asked what if I buy the fixture. It would be $599 to install it. Went to Lamps Plus. Fixture and installation $243.

What a rip off! The technician replaced a broken outlet that was already troubleshooted for him, was there less than 2 hours, and charged $350 to replace an outlet. Yes he fixed the problem but then gouged us. He charged well over double the average rate. He was going to charge 99 just to get out of his truck so we were obligated. Don't use them. Unfair practices!

Never will call them again; cocky technician arrived to collect $77 to show up for 5 minutes; evaluated our small electrical job, and proceeded to inform that it would cost $450.00 for 15 minutes of work. When questioned as to why so much, replied, ""We have to pay for our commercial"". On work order, cost was written as $399.00. Needless to say, we thanked him and dismissed him.

Showed up right on time. Seemed more interested in lecturing me about heaters and circuits than actually finding the problem and giving me an estimate. Very evasive and when I called Luis Figueroa on his attitude, he told me I was the one with the attitude. Kicked him out. When I called Powell they seemed more concerned about their 99 dollars than what happened and pointed the finger at me since Luis has been there 15 years and never had a complaint. Is that right? Wanted to talk to him then call me tomorrow. I said forget it. We will find someone else to give us an estimate and ultimately the job.

Wonderful job i had a light fixture go out and needed to be fix i call Powell electric and they sent Jeremy he answered all of my questions about the light that needed repaired and call about the quote everything went great jeremy repaired the light and he was on his way thank you Jeremy and Powell Electric

I used Powell Electric a few month ago and they overcharged me considerably.
I didn't know until I hired another electrician to do a different job.
For the installation of 4 wall lights and a chandelier in my dining room ( the fixtures were purchased by me) and a low voltage can light, they charged 1700 dollars!
Im willing to pay a little premium for quality work but this number is obscene . Don't give them your business there are plenty of honest companies out there.
