Don't make the same mistake that I did by setting up an appointment with Powell Electric. This outfit is no better than the worst Electrical company's out there. They make appointments, had to wait 5 days and then after I wasted all day waiting for them in the time window, they called to say they couldn't make it. They wanted to reschedule for another day. No real apologies. Just a comment that sometimes things happen. Never again with this company.

A friend called me about finding a good electrician. I asked what the issue was. She told me that the receptacle in her back yard didn't have any power, and she uses this as a source of electricity for her sprinkler timer. Powell Electric came out this morning, charged $78 for the estimate to repair. Then proceeded to write up an estimate to completely re-wire the line going under the house to the back yard, for a whopping $4,190.00. I offered to come and look, that that price seemed very expensive. Low and behold, I checked a receptacle between the problem and the breakers, and found a GFI receptacle. All I had to do was press the reset button, and the whole problem was fixed. If I, as just a homeowner can find the problem, a professional electrician should have been able to. This technician was trying to take advantage of a single elderly woman, and should be ashamed.

We called Powell electric to install a timer for our front entrance lights. The electrician that installed the timer didn't know how to set the timer. That's what we got for $500.
They took it in a flash!!

Patrick and James were very professional, personable and did an Amazing job!!! They were so neat, clean and thorough with their work. They wore their mask and took all the precautions and also took time to answer my questions. I am very appreciative of their hard work and excellent customer service! The worse customer service. Was given a window between 1:00-4:00 Got a phone call at 3:55 Saying they can't come. I told them I had taken the afternoon off work for this appointment. No apology was offered the next morning, I told him I will be working. I was so frustrated, I told him never mind, I will call someone else. First and last time calling them.

I have used Powell in the past and was pleased, therefore I called them to make an appointment without researching. They do charge $99 to come out and give an estimate. In our case it was to upgrade a panel. A few days later, I decided to check Yelp. I saw there new rating and comments, and decided to cancel my appointment.

When I called to cancel, the man on the phone asked why I was canceling. Since he asked, I figured I would be honest, and I told him I saw Powell's rating and comments on Yelp. He said to go to Google and read the reviews there. ""They have 4.5 star rating on Google out of 1,600 reviews."" I told him I rely on Yelp, and he said they are not a restaurant and literally hung up on me.

They tried to charge me 1700 for changing three outlets ... when I said no, they came back with 499 for two so uhm .. Im sorry but WTF was that ? A sad waste of 79$ .. too bad because I like the commercial .

They only want your $79 and a chance at ripping you off. They quoted me $9,800 for installing customer supplied 4 Ring cameras, 2 lights fixtures, 4 backyard string lights, & repairing an outdoor power socket. Their disguise - ""We do QUALITY work"". More like quality hustle. Don't let these greedy people into your home.

The person I was speaking with on the phone was Rude and Condescending. In addition? Powell is terribly over priced!!! 89.00 Adv on the commercial is incorrect compared to when you call for an appointment.

They are a complete rip off as they charge you $100 for a estimate which I knew and are 3 to 4 times hirer than two other estimates. Others were $400 to $500 to complete 1450 car charger and Powell wanted $1,850. Don't be ripped off by Powell. Several people have had similar reviews.
