Great job over the phone! Our strands of Christmas Lights went out. So annoying. I called and talked to the owner who said I needed to hit the reset button-- it's dampness on one of the outlets. We figured out the culprit, hit reset and done.

Erik and Kyle showed up early to finish the job and offered to pick up coffee for me on the way. Who does that? So thoughtful (although I declined)!
They proved that 2 heads are better than one since each of them brought ideas of how to repair the situation. I am very pleased with the end results of something that the original electrician did a very poor job of installing.
While they were here, Erik also fixed a smoke detector which he pointed out was not mounted in the proper place. This they did at no extra cost which was a pleasant surprise.
When I first saw the name ""Poor Boy"" I thought maybe it was an explanation for why they need to charge the fees they do and make you feel their need. Then when I found out that is Erik's last name, I had a good laugh.

Called after hours, but unable to connect. Sent a text per his VM, and Eric called me back within 20 minutes. He walked me through some options over the phone; including calling PGE to come out and check the breaker box, which was sufficient to solve the immediate problem. Eric called me early the next morning to verify we were good! He'll be my first call when we replace the breaker box! Great customer service!

Great service! Ordered a ceiling fan and needed it installed. Fast, friendly, professional response and were able to schedule me much quicker than other electricians. Showed up completely COVID safe did a great job at a reasonable price. Impressed they did the work and then invoiced me and I paid via email! Great service from a local business man and will use whenever I have electrical needs in the future.

We are very happy to have found PoorBoy for our electrical needs. We had some major reworking of old lights that needed to be switched out/modernized and they did a fantastic job with it all. Super fast, very professional, really thoughtful and easy to work with. The best part for us was how knowledgeable Erik is about all the options, current tech stuff, the way he clearly explained everything to us and his impressive creative vision for our project. Wow!! We had a circuit breaker problem and Eric walked my husband through it over the phone. My husband is not the most handy but Eric made it so simple!! Wow..I'm almost speechless.

So last night I was making dinner and all of a sudden a circuit tripped and my appliances shut off. No problem, I thought. Went out to the garage to reset the breaker and....nothing. Tried a few more times to no avail. As it was Saturday night and I was worried about my fully stocked garage freezer and kitchen fridge, I started making phone calls. I knew it was going to be expensive and that was if I could even get anyone to come out at that hour.

The first two places I called went straight to voice mail. My third try was PoorBoy. I was surprised when Erik answered. I explained my situation and asked him if he could come out. He said he could but he was in the middle of eating dinner, it was Saturday night and it wouldn't be cheap.

While I was weighing my options, he offered for me to get on FaceTime and show him the problem and he would walk me through it. For free. I was taken aback by his kind offer. Turns out that I didn't need to use FaceTime because he walked me through what I needed to do and before I knew it, all of my appliances came back on. He spent time interrupting his dinner to walk a panicking stranger through a problem.

No charge.

The only thing he asked of me was to pay it forward.

PoorBoy Electric and Lighting is now our go to electrician. Well done Erik and once again, thank you.
