We have a brand new home and are not the handiest of home owners and had an electrical issue with our outdoor circuits. Erik, the owner, suggested (instead of coming out and charging us!) it might be the GFI and walked us through solving the problem. We are so grateful for the honesty and the help and the time he gave us! Should we ever have an issue again, we would call PoorBoy. Did I mention I received a response to my request for quote in 5 minutes?!!!!

We really appreciate Erik being able to squeeze us in on short notice even though he was booked out 6 weeks! He was thorough and efficient in replacing several GFCI outlets in our kitchen and then checking the others in the house to make sure they were working properly. As a Real Estate Broker, I know a lot of contractors. Most of them are good, but very few are GREAT! The reviews here are why I chose to call Eric in the first place. Boy-oh-boy were the reviewers SPOT ON! Eric answered the phone himself, showed up on the same day and time that we had set! That right there is worth at least a ""good"" review. So when he came over and diagnosed the issue and then was able to fix my problem all at a reasonable and fair price, I knew that I would be writing a review to let others know: CALL ERIC FIRST!

I've been impressed with PoorBoy Electric from my first email communication with Erik. They're extremely responsive, confirmed the appointment, and showed up on-time. All of our light fixtures were installed perfectly and televisions were mounted with a perfect clean look. After installation, the vacuum immediately came out and he probably left the place cleaner than he found it. Not only was it great quality work, but he and his partner were nice to be around. He's clearly very passionate about his work and it shows.

Erik is superb! A really nice and knowledgeable guy who came out at a moment's notice to fix a quick electrical issue at our house. Disclaimer: He won't always be able to do that, but it was good timing for us. Now, we're stoked to have an electrician we trust for future lighting and electrical projects.

Erik came out for a consultation in Morro Bay about a job to run a new wire from the breaker in my garage to the side of my house to run a pottery kiln. Erik was willing to move around his schedule to help accommodate me around my work schedule. He got there early, and was the height of professionalism and friendliness. He was quick and efficient with the consultation and knew exactly what was needed. I ended up not moving forward with the job, but for my own personal reasons, NOT because of anything to do with Erik!

What are you looking for in an electrician? Professionalism, knowledge, someone who will be on time, comes prepared, and cleans up? Bingo, PoorBoy does the job. Erik is super knowledgeable and very helpful. He's probably not the cheapest guy in town--but when it comes to electricity I don't think you want half a##ed work. He specializes in new construction, new fixtures, making things look pretty. The was nice enough to come out to Paso to work on my house even though he usually stays in SLO, which I very much appreciate. PoorBoy does excellent work!

Just needed a few minor things done in my house like re-wiring a kitchen gfi, and hiding some horribly tacky cords from my mounted TV, and Erik did everything and more. Showed up right on time, got me everything I needed, gave me all the information on what all my different options out there were, did excellent work, was extememly friendly, and seemed to love what he does. Very professional, honest, and dedicated to his clients. Pricing was extremely fair as well. Will call again in the future for sure.
