Recommended Customer Reviews

Was brilliant in changing out my ceiling lights for my spare room. He did it so quick and clean that it felt like he was barely there. I am so happy as the room like so much better with the new lights and will use him again. He did it at a reasonable price I was happy to pay right away.

My actual star rating for Point Break Electric is 2 stars and that's generous. But, because Yelp actually hides two star reviews, I've made it four stars. Gabe seems like a nice guy and I assume he's a solid electrician. I was referred to him by a neighbor who said he did great work. I had a few things I needed addressed at my house and he came over the same day I called to do a visual assessment. Got a timely estimate a couple of days later and signed it. The main work was replacing an outlet box in the garage and adding an additional outlet to me the wiring safer. He showed up on time when he said he would to start work but explained he had an appointment and couldn't stay long. I told him that was fine and the projects weren't a rush. He was able to assess an issue with my fans before I left, which took him less than an hour. A couple of days later he texted me that he would come on Friday, and made a request to move all the belongings around the area where he was installing. A seemingly small request, but the area had a office desk and partition and the area he said he was going to run a conduit had a hide-a-bed, so I moved that, and then a chest freezer was in front of another outlet, so I moved that as well. Just wanted him to have free reign of the area to do his work. Just as I had finished moving it all, he wrote to say he didn't think he would be able to make it over. I texted back and explained that it took me a hour to move all the things and sent him a photo of the cleared space. And furthermore, I'd have to move it all back because a guest was staying in that space. So it wasn't a small amount of work to get things ready for him. He responded, ""Okay, will have to be next week. Sorry."" At that juncture I told him ""Thanks for your time, but I'm going to find someone else at this point."" To which he replied ""Okay, I will still be charging for my time"". After hopping on a call with him he explained he would charge for his time to assess the fans. I get that, but what Gabe didn't consider was the time I spent preparing for his arrival, and the time I'll now spend putting everything back in place. I assume everyone's time is valuable so I found it troubling that he was willing to bill me for his time, but discounted the time I spent preparing the work area for him. The long and the short of it is, I didn't find him to be reliable, and after one partial visit, and a missed visit that followed shortly thereafter, I opted not to do business with him. I explained to him he could certainly send me a bill for his time and I would pay it, but I received the bill I would be writing a review in Yelp documenting my frustrations. A few minutes later, he sent me the bill, which I took as a sign that he welcomed my review, which I think is pretty fair all things considered.

Gabriel is professional, polite and gets the job done. He installed a Generac home generator and did a great job.

I have engaged Gabriel several times now, for installing an electric car charger to adding an 240v outlet for a new electric Water heater and every time got great results and an overall wonderful experience. He is friendly, highly reliable, very responsive, fast, knowledgeable, delivers high quality work, and can refer other specialists for work he isn't able to do. I would definitely recommend him and Point Break to any of my friends and he is on the top of my list for further work on my townhouse.

We have had our hood microwave out for some time, as no other electricians were willing to come work on our ""simple"" project. Gabriel gave us a very realistic and reasonable quote. He was able to resolve the issue very nicely.
We also had a new light fixture for the kitchen that we wanted installed. Gabriel did an outstanding job of wiring and installing the fixture, and the job looks fantastic. We are extremely happy with the whole job!
The prices were on point with the quote, and very reasonable. Gabriel was very professional and courteous, and is obviously very skilled and experienced at his trade. I will certainly call Point Break Electric for all my future electrical work.
