complete fraud beware. I paid him over $10,000 for a Home remodel. Disappeared without completing work. Damage countertops, cabinets, vanities. he also goes under Elite handyman and fencing. after further investigation, he falsified insurance documentation. Currently based out of Poinciana.

Miguel and I had been communicating on Facebook Messenger originally and I was not going to leave a review until AFTER he blocked me which I thought that was so unprofessional.

So I posted something on Facebook, called Osceola Rant and Raves where people can post anything about the community, selling, buying, looking to hire, etc. I posted that I was looking for someone to fix my jacuzzi tub, where a pipe was leaking underneath. He responded almost immediately and said that he was having dinner with his son. I wanted to get this taken care of asap so I thought wow, this is perfect, I found someone!

I also wanted him to grout and caulk around the bathtub and shower area.
When he caulked the shower, I had to tell him that what he originally did, did not look right and if he could ""smooth it out"" as some caulk was sticking out. He did go over it again and it looked ok. (But I was thinking, I should not have had to tell you that, you should have noticed it was not smooth)

Then he originally told me when he grouts, he will have to come back hours later because it has to dry. He got a call from his grown son that he cut his hand and had to get stitches, so he had to leave and take him to the Emergency Room. I understand, things happen, and he kept me posted.

When he was able to come back, I think it was the next day, he had a different grout and I commented ""what happened to the other grout that you said it had to dry a few hours?"" and he said he got a different grout that supposedly was supposed to dry faster. (ok no biggie, I know nothing about grout). He wasn't feeling good, said ""I think I have a fever"" and was sweating a lot. I felt bad for him. He ended up going to the Emergency Room. He kept me up to date, and then postponed the job again.

A day or 2 later he came back and after he was finished grouting the shower floor, he left all the grout on it and I said to him, ""is that the way it is supposed to look""? and he said ""yes that will come off in time after you take a few showers""....I thought that was very odd because we recently had our Pool Tile installed and after it was grouted the contractor wiped all the access off.

I paid him cash, $175 and even gave him a $25 tip!

About a week later, I contacted him again to help me with a fence gate at our rental property 2 miles away as the gates were leaning. He told me that it needed a tension rod from the photos I sent to him.

I asked him, ""how much did this tension rod cost?"" and he said ""$25.00"" When I looked it up online at Home Depot it costed $15.83. Then when I asked him about that he said ""oh that one did not fit, I had to use a different one"". Then after he put the tension rod on, he said another one on the OTHER gate might help. so, he installed another tension rod on the other side but I noticed they were facing the same direction but yet he insisted they were installed correctly. Then I asked him to shave the fence where it closed because it was rubbing. He had a big electric saw with no protective eye wear on and he shaved the fence but it looked uneven like he needed to trim it smoother so that it looks better. He commented ""I don't have anything planned tomorrow I can come back because you are a nice person"". I told him ""I want the receipts along with the invoice so I can see labor costs and supplies costs. I never received any receipts, or the invoice emailed to me.

He messaged me the next day that he got a flat tire and sent me a photo of the flat tire. (another setback to postpone the job) - yes I understand out of his control again. so I said ""ok I will see you at 2pm tomorrow"" and he replied ""ok see you then"".

That morning I texted him at 8:42am ""is everything ok with today""? I shouldn't even have to feel like this with any contractor ""wondering"" if they are going to show or something else is going to come up??"" anyway I saw on Facebook messenger that he DID read my question but did NOT respond. I checked in again at 1:45pm asking ""please let me know when you are at the house because it is our rental property and I have to let our tenant know too out of courtesy"". 2pm? no show? I called his cell phone at 3pm, went right to voicemail so I left a message. no return call, nothing! I was very shocked because he would respond to me if something happened. Funny...they day before had paid him $150 cash to fix the gate and wah lah, he vanished! just like that! I KNOW he was ok because he blocked me on Facebook. SO UNPROFESSIONAL! No courtesy whatsoever. Did he forget that he was supposed to finish the job at 2pm??? I would think he would have felt bad and said ""oh my gosh, I am SO SORRY that I could not make it because of this or that"".....I mean SOMETHING!....now I read these other reviews which I WISH I would have read first because these are recent and these are very bad reviews! Now it costed me an additional $100 to fix the fence, and the Grout never came off like he said so that will be an additional expense!
NOT HAPPY!!!

Miguel from Platinum Handyman Orlando represented himself and their company as certified electricians, plumbers and appliance repair folks. Things started out well, I had them repair a fence. It was passable, though the gate wasn't hung correctly (doesn't close all the way, there are gaps and nails sticking through at various points). Then I had them pull up tiles around our pool deck. The finished product looks great, but during the task the paint sprayer they used blew up on them spraying paint across our patio screen and patio furniture. They came back to clean it up, and we're able to remove the paint from the screen frame and they replaced the screen. The screen is now loose, and it wasn't cut correctly so there are strips hanging off. The furniture still has paint on it.

The final time I used them was to replace our hot water heater. First, they couldn't find the shut off valve for the water, rather than stop they decided to continue anyway. They blew up the pipe in the wall and flooded our garage causing about $1000 in damage.

They completed the work, installing the tankless heater they recommended to me as ""experts"". They charged me almost $2000 for the work, including the part which I later learned was about $275 on Amazon. They didn't give me a warranty for the part (which I asked for and was told ""the box is your warranty""). As it turns out, these experts installed a tankless heater designed for a small apartment of 2 people - I have a large house with 5 people (which they knew). There is no consistency to the heat. I called them to have them correct it, and they came to check it, said they'd swap it out; asked me for an additional $875, which I stupidly gave them, to upgrade the part and electrical. They then went dark, refusing to respond to calls, emails, texts etc. The corrections required to fix their ""work"" are quoted at $6k.

In short, do not use them, or if you do make sure it's only for the most basic work that required no expertise.
