4:30 in the evening my bedroom smoke alarm started a low level screech. I called our alarm company only to learn that they were gone for the day and couldn't help us until the next morning. Desperate to get the problem addressed I searched Yelp for a highly rated electrician to come to our home and fix the problem. I called Petre before 5:00 and he immediately agreed to redirect his drive home to come fix the problem. Within 30 minutes of his arrival the problem was solved at a very reasonable cost. What a great service he provided, he saved the day and allowed us to sleep in our own home that night. Needless to say I give Petre the highest ratings, he is a very good and capable man.

I've had Petre work on my house many times over the last 12 years or so, and I'm always happy to have him back. He's fast, friendly, efficient, and always easy to work with.

My house is an old Victorian that's needed a lot of complicated remodeling, and Petre has always made easy work of jobs I thought would be much harder.

Petre is an extremely competent and professional electrician. I haven't had him at my house multiple times to work on different projects. Some of them are fairly simple for a trained electrician. However, I'm writing this review to describe the sleuthing that he did this past week to help repair some damage that I had caused. In an effort to explore my own personal handyman skills, I attempted to replace a couple of light switches in my home. Everything seem to be going well until I in advertently shorted out some major circuitry that controlled a large part of my home. Petre came within hours of me calling. He was able to find the area where I had melted some wires. All of this was in the crawlspace under our house. Petre was tireless and his efforts to locate the damage. He repaired that, and then also proceeded to replace a sub panel that was the real cause of the incident. All the while, he communicated with me. I highly recommend him.

Some time ago Petre came out to my house to fix the outlet under my kitchen sink which was not working. He was very friendly and spent many hours at my house (and crawling around under it) but was not able to get the outlet working. He then tried to charge me over $400! When I pointed out that the problem was not fixed he was adamant that he should be paid for his hours. I'll admit it was partly my fault for not getting clear at the get go about the hours spent vs. job being completed but was surprised that he would try and charge me that much when nothing was actually done. Since he had spent so much time at my house and was friendly I foolishly paid him $250.

Some time later I hired another electrician to take a look at the problem and they had it fixed within 10 minutes as it was a simple breaker issue (he didn't want to charge me anything but I insisted he take $40).

Petre showed up within a few hours on a Sunday afternoon to my house when everyone else I called would not be available to at least Monday. The house was newly purchased and the inspectors and seller had not found/disclosed all the electrical issues which Petre found and fixed over the course of two visits. Petre was very communicative, flexible and determined to find the electrical issues and set them right. He was a pleasure to work with and I'd recommend him to anyone with an old peculiar Bay Area home with mind boggling electrical issues.
