Peter is WONDERFUL! Like many other comments, he responds and communicates, he kept his appts (estimate and actual job), he is extremely knowledgeable, pleasant to deal with, he tackled my small project like it was his own, treated my house and working area with respect; ALL things important to me! Above all, he was fair and reasonable in his pricing for the work, he did not try to gouge me. In fact, he did not have to tear into my drywall for part of the wiring because of his patience and abilities to work his wiring whereas others would have created a larger job, and no doubt more $$$$. Lastly, he also exchanged out a troublesome switch that has bothered me for months, and now it works beautifully! If I ever need an electrician, I will call Peter back to my castle in a heartbeat!

I called Peter up because I had power surge throughout my house. My appliances are either not getting enough or getting too much power from the outlet. The house smelled like burning wire and all my surge-protectors are burning out rendering it useless. With in minutes from messaging Peter, he had called me asking about the problems. He then gave me some good advice and things I can do while he will be finishing up his prior appointments. When he showed up in my doorstep he went straight into troubleshooting my problem. He was honest, and very knowledgeable on all the things he was testing and fixing. When he finally found the source of my problems, which was a ""bad neutral coming from the main power line,"" he ask me to contact Edison right away so he can explain to them the problem. At the end Peter wasn't able to fix the problem (Because he was not allowed to thinker with the main power line) but he found the source which made it easier for Edison to fix. He made sure that Edison knew the exact source of problem, and left me a peace of mind that everything was going to be okay!

I'm my own experience....if you need a knowledgeable, down-to-earth, honest, electrician... I recommend giving Peter a call!

Honest electrician. His interest is to help the customer to fix the problem with the fastest and most economical way. I recently ask for a quote and Peter ask me to trouble shoot by myself first which solved the issue at the spot. Looking forward to do more business with him in the future.

This guy is amazing, he's honest and a very knowledgeable and experienced electrician. I just purchased my house and had an issue with my kitchen outlets. As a gift, our real estate agent purchased us a 1 year Home Warranty. I call the warranty company to open a service request to send an electrician to fix the issue. This sloppy guy shows up at my door and he spends about an hour and a half troubleshooting and removing all the outlets and outlet plates in the kitchen trying to find the issue. After all this time he concludes that the house needs to be re-wired and that he need to check if the home warranty contract will cover the costs. He leaves.... yes he leaves without reinstalling the outlets. The home warranty company contacts me to inform me that the re-wiring is not covered (surprise, surprise) so I asked for a 2nd opinion. They agreed and sent Mr. Peter Wrate. No Peter shows up the next day with tool bag in hand. After a 5 minute conversation to give him a little background on my issue, he gets right to work. 10 minutes later, he finds the problem a fixes it. It was a loose wire in one of the kitchen outlet that the first guy didn't even look at. Peter even checked and corrected the mess the first guy left behind. I would highly recommend Peter Wrate for all your electrical needs. Although I met him through my Home Warranty company, I kept his contact information so I can go directly to him. Thanks Peter!!!!

Our electricity had been turning on and off in only random parts of the house for a couple months and it was becoming more frequent. It was becoming routine to take the blender into the living room to known functioning outlets. We'd go out and mess with the breakers which would only fix the problem sometimes... or the power would randomly come back on.

So we asked around for recommendations. A friends personal recommendation came out and charged me $50 for a consult to tell me the bus bar was melted, it would cost $2K to fix it, and they'd have to cut out the stucco of the house and such.

Second opinion was free. He told us the same thing, but for a little less. Then he messed with the breakers which turned off the power in the house again... and after I asked if he could fix that... he said no and left!!!! I couldn't open my garage anymore!!! The heater wouldn't turn on and it was hitting 40degrees at night!

Luckily I had Peter coming as my final quote. I had contacted him over Yelp and sent him a picture of my melted bus bar. He gave me a quote and had a better solution I thought than the other 2 guys.

He came and immediately switched things around on the board (pardon my lack of electrician jargon) that gave my house power again. He told me that would hold me over until he got the parts and I wouldn't have to worry about the power going out again. He told me his plan of switching out the bus bar and going through the garage to unscrew it. It made way more sense to me than ripping out our wall and replacing the entire box.

2 days later he was back. He was excellent at communicating his ETA and when he ordered and received the pieces. He switched everything out quickly. He cut a couple little holes in the garage and patched it up so you couldn't even tell anything had been done. It was totally painless for what I consider a very reasonable price compared to what I was being quoted.

I felt he was very honest and wasn't out to up sell us, but actually recommended what we actually needed. He obviously knows his stuff and I will be calling him for any other electrical needs!!

I can say that Peter (somehow I kept calling him Steve) is by far the most honest, down to earth, electrician that I have encountered. 5 stars is not enough to rate him. When I called, he gave me some suggestions to see if my problem gets fixed without him coming over. Now who else would do that? When he came over, he looked at my circuit box, snip this, tug that, install this, close that and voila! My electrical problem that affected my AC and pool equipment was fixed. And this was during 100 degree weather. Peter explained what he did in terms that I understood, gave me some more pointers, and off he went. He charges at reasonable rates, and I now know who to go to anytime I need an electrical expert and problem solver. I highly recommend Peter!

As usual, Peter comes thru for me again. I wanted to have a dryer receptacle installed in the garage and he came after a couple of hours and installed it. Peter is a keeper and I will continue to be a customer.
