I had water in my HVAC pan (which was concerning). I have had Performance Heating and Air come out before and they did a good job. However I feel as if I was excessively charged after this last appointment. The Condensation Hose had come off which was causing the water to collect in the pan. The guy put on a new clamp and vacuumed the water out of the pan. $99 trip charge and at $120 and hour, I was billed for an additional $90 to put the clamp on. Whopping total of $189 for 5 minutes really. I could have gotten the water out of the pan myself. I called to let them know I felt that was a little excessive and the response was ""duly noted""

""REPLY: ""HERO"" your term not mine. Your wife called and said you had a cancellation, which is why the appointment was moved up. SO, yes although I was grateful, let's not imply you dropped everything to squeeze me in. So Hero, that's a little disingenuous. I wonder, do you think you are everyone's HERO
Next: it wasn't a quote. I specifically asked what your ""trip charge is"" and your hourly rate. Not a quote. Your wife said she was guessing by my description of the issue that is was a ""simple fix"""" Which it was.
3rd: as for the time lag in me calling in to say something; I stewed over it for a week wondering if I wanted to get more pissed off by a potential response like this.
4th glad your future potential customers will in fact see by your previous response how snarky you are.
Erik B.I have been a 3 year customer of Performance Heating and Air - no longer. Today was the final straw. I was told they didn't want to schedule me - but I could get on a waiting list. I said ok, and got lucky a few weeks later with a last minute appt. The technician Durell was rude and condescending. He stayed 45 minutes, did not use any parts and did no real repairs. I was charged. $99 for ""showing up"" and $125 for 45 minutes of work - so my bill was $224. If this is what you like - go to Performance Heating and AIr. As for me, never again.
Just got the message here from Performance Air. Apparently calling me Doll wasn't enough. Now you have to refer to me as ""Dear""?. As condescending as that is I refute the claim you made several attempts to contact me for an install. I called YOU by coincidence only to find you were hired by the former owner of the home who sold the home to us without disclosing the HVAC system was not functioning. Legal remedies are in play.PS you can't be fired when you were never hired.
Lizette H.While my husband was Ill the A/C went out. This was on a Thursday afternoon with some pretty high temp. H called around and no one could get there until the next Tuesday. When he called Performance Heating and Air he talked to the owner. The owner had a repair person on site within two hours and after a quick diagnosis and a short trip back to the warehouse to get the needed part all was running. The technician was great, and everything was back to normal in about three hours from our initial phone class. The price was reasonable and they did a good job. We would definitely use them again.
Stashley W.They were the only company to answer their phone on the first 100 degree day of summer. Point for that. Technician came out that same afternoon. We were told they had to take parts back to the shop and would be back tomorrow to install. Super. No price given. We were told a time window of 2-4.
430 my husband called and asked where they were. The lady said we were next and she was sorry she should have called. Ok. A different technician showed up around 515. After about am hour of fumbling around and making phone calls he says the part they bought was also bad and they would have to come back, again. Still no price discussed. No time frame given for service the next day.
I had to call in the morning for a time frame. The lady said ""well the same time as yesterday I guess"" I asked her about the cost ""well I'm not sure i don't have anything in front of me."" A different technician shows up promptly at 2. Point for that. Within 2 hours we had nice air running through the house. Price wasn't too bad actually I was worried it would be super high because they had to come out so much. Point for that.
How do small businesses with such horrific customer service stay in business?
I called for an evaluation on a bad thermostat in a commercial space (the service technician did arrive on time - the only positive here). He was not able to complete the diagnostics because he had to get into a closet to see some external equipment (for a thermostat problem that was in the office?). Someone should have alerted me when the appt. was booked so I was sure to have the key. I was told I would get a phone call to schedule a time to get into the closet, that call never came... therefore I never rec'd a quote on the repairs that we're needed or their costs. But I DID receive a bill for having the guy come out. They traveled 2 miles door-to-door and I was charged 79.99 and have NOTHING, ZERO, ZIP to show for it. When I called them to question the bills (rec'd 2 in one week) they took no responsibility. Apparently, per the woman on the phone, I ""should know how the HVAC world works"". I asked to speak with the owner. When I did, he had the same negative, condescending attitude. Said he'd consider negotiating the fee if we installed a new system. But, I never got a quote explaining what was needed to make the system work.
In the end, I was happy to pay the 79.99. A small fee to ensure the name PERFORMANCE HEATING AND AIR never crossed my desk again!
Lou U.Very disappointed with the customer service. Called on Thursday morning for an HVAC repair. Told them I would be available from 12-4 on Friday. They confirmed a technician was available and said they would call back to provide a two hour window. They did not. I called Friday morning and the person answering the phone gave me a window of 3-5pm and said they would do their best to get there during that time. I explained the situation, and that we would only be at the location until 4pm. The person on the phone stumbled around and had no answer other than they had an install today and would do there best to get to us. I canceled and will not be considering them for any work in the future. My advice, follow up and confirm the day of the appointment.
Paid over two hundred for the diagnostics of an A/C problem without it fixed. Almost all the service time charged for that amount was spent on trying to sell me a replacement system that would cost me thousands.
Joshua Jessica J.They charged us $400 to spend 30 minutes replacing a $50 part. Then they told us to expect the system to break again soon. Now the system works worse then before it broke. Not a happy customer.
Such a great experience! I called with my lack-of-heat emergency and spoke with Karen, and Curtis arrived 20 minutes later! He was very knowledgeable, professional, and most importantly helpful. He had our unit heating again within the hour and then consulted us at length on replacing the old furnace. I will definitely use this company again and recommend them to others. Thank you!
