The home warranty company dispatched Performance Electrical for the water stoppage issue at my house. It's so simple -- they couldn't fix it. Just don't trust them, like other Yelpers said. I hired another plumber who fixed the issue within 30 mins.

By far the worst company I have EVER dealt with. Did not fix my plumbing problem, actually made th situation worse and I had to hire another company to fix their mess. On top of that, probably the worst and rudest customer experience ever. There is no scenario in which I would hire them again.

BEWARE!!! STAY AWAY!!! All I know are the names Nacho(Electrician) & Bob(Manager?). They both have egregious customer service skills. Nacho showed up an hour before the scheduled appointment which no one was available at the time to let him in the house. Then he hangs up in my face and wouldn't answer when I tried to call him back to tell him that I got a hold of someone to let him in the house. Lol!
Morale of the story. Avoid a potential waste of time and use another company.
The home warranty companies should cut them off. These type of electrical companies are just abusing the system. I'm sure they will still try to collect the fee on this service call. Sad

This company provides on time, responsive service. The manager plugged in immediately to resolve a problem for me. They are very courteous, easy to reach, and keep their appointments in a timely manner. The technicians are friendly and informative. Highly recommend them.

My dealings with Performance Electrical weren't extensive, but I was impressed. My Warranty company (Old Republic) sent PE a work order, when I called, for our garbage disposal, which hadn't worked well for months, then died completely. Melissa was prompt and very professional in taking my call and scheduling an appointment, explaining the process of working with PE via a warranty company, (the vendor's hands are tied as to actions and payment because the warranty company makes all the decisions, not the vendor). I had big concerns, reading all of the bad Yelp reviews for the company. George, who came highly recommended, was dispatched within two days. My garbage disposal spontaneously became operative again within the time window George was to show up, but I contacted the company to see if I could cancel and they graciously extended this courtesy without charging me the service fee. (!) I spoke with two different associates of Performance Electrical this week and found them to be knowledgeable, personable, and professional. Their techs are licensed, bonded and insured, and always employees, rather than subcontractors -- these things make a big difference where service is concerned. I have no complaints and would feel very comfortable having PE complete a job on my home.

The only reason I am writing this review is to try to help others and warn them before they get involved with Performance Electric. My home warranty assigned them to me and after months of back and fourth...my home warranty switched me contractors because it has been such a mess. To try to sum this up, the owner comes out and orders the wrong exhaust fan - then he blames it on my home warranty that they wouldn't pay for a new one with a light - THAT IS NOT TRUE - after hours on the phone with my home warranty, THEY LEGALLY HAVE TO GIVE ME THE EXHAUST FAN WITH THE LIGHT. So they come back weeks later with the wrong fan and then BLAME ON ME that I refused the exhaust fan they brought when the guy who came right away told me it was the wrong one. I DIDNT REFUSE ANYTHING but don't want the wrong fan!! Then they LIE and tell my home warranty I went with the worker to Home Depot to pick out a light - THIS IS A TOTAL LIE - I NEVER DID THAT!!!! Bob the owner calls me and I explain what really happened and he acts like he understands....then my home warranty case manager calls me and says Bob completely told a different story and was lying about what happened. Also, Gayle at the front desk is terrible and talks to customers TERRIBLY on the phone- I couldn't believe it.
This is a longer story but all in all, these people are liars and incompetent. I am now back to square one with a new contractor to do this whole thing over again. But I have no problem doing it over again as long as I don't have to deal with this company who are dishonest and completely lied about what really happened and try to blame me for their terrible and incompetent mistakes. I'm in total disbelief a business would be this way - watch out for them!!
If you get assigned to them ask for someone else!!!
UPDATE TO MY LAST REVIEW: because of everything I previously stated above, I told my home warranty that I don't want to be dealing with Performance Electric anymore and to please send out another electrical company.
Another electric company came out this morning and they let me know that Performance Electric HAD BEEN LYING TO ME THIS ENTIRE TIME. I never needed a brand new bathroom fan...I just needed a new motor which this new electric company put in within 15 minutes. They told me Performance Electric lied and said that I needed a brand new fan so they could get more money for the extra hours of labor. So not only have I been sick for the last 3 months dealing with performance electric, but they also told me I would have to pay for the texturing and painting of the new drywall that was going to be put in due to ripping out part of my ceiling to get the new fan in. SO ON TOP OF BOB (THE OWNER OF PERFORMANCE ELECTRIC) LYING TO ME AND MY HOME WARRANTY REGARDING MY ABOVE REVIEW, HE ALSO CAME OUT TO MY HOME AND LIED TO ME THAT I NEEDED A BRAND NEW FAN WHEN I DIDN'T. I HAD EVEN TOLD HIM HOW SICK I WAS THE LAST 3 MONTHS DUE TO NOT HAVING A FAN (LONG STORY) AND HE KNEW THIS WOULD TAKE AT LEAST A FEW MORE WEEKS TO ORDER A NEW ONE. HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO TEXTURIZE AND PAINT OVER THE NEW DRYWALL THEY WOULD HAVE TO PUT IN. SO HE LIED TO ME KNOWING I WAS SICK AND WOULD HAVE TO PAY EXTRA MONEY FOR HIS LIE!! HE KNEW HE ONLY HAD TO REPLACE THE MOTOR AND HE KNEW I DIDN'T NEED A BRAND NEW FAN.
I'll be writing the Better Bureau of Business about what happened as well.
I'm writing this to warn the rest of you in hopes I can spare you your time, health, and money dealing with such crooks.

Performance Electric was assigned to us by our home warranty to fix what a previous electrician screwed up. Bob came out for the original diagnosis and was very honest and up front. He told me that the previous electrician could not have performed the work they said they did and actually showed me why.
We need a new 100A main breaker and new bus bars. The following week Jeff was sent out to do the repairs. He was very patient, professional, answered all my questions, and explained to me what he was doing every step of the way. He even waited for SMUD and the county inspector so he didn't have to come back out.
I would highly recommend this company, professionals at their finest!

Its sad to see so many other consumers upset with this vendor. We had a sudden electrical problem in our home. I still don't understand it, but nothing in the house except one or two lights. If you attempt to turn anything else on, the box outside makes a sizzling sound and nothing will work. They tell me its called a phase failure. We were referred by our AHS to one company that told us its a fire hazard and that we should not be in the house until the repair could be made around the 20th of next month. We called our home warranty back and were referred to Performance. Bob from Performance came out immediately after P G and E and told us he needed to get the insurance approval and the part. He was gong to try and push it but it probably wouldn't happen until next week, leaving me at home alone with two toddlers in a possible fire trap. Performance worked all day to coordinate the part with Pg and E and us the homeowners so that the repair could take place this morning. Bob and his office called me and my husband several times to facilitate this. I think they are a great company, with old fashioned customer service. I also think people treat you how you treat them.

Unbelievable! Stay away from these these guys.
Summary of the service: Shower faucet was leaking. The guy damaged the shower faucet trim trying to remove it. Opened the faucet and couldn't put it back together. I helped him with that. He put it back together and now the faucet leaks in the wall. He left with the water shut off. Put together a bunch of lies to the home warranty company and blamed it on me.
And the details ... These guys were assigned to fix a shower leak through a home warranty service. First they called me and I asked for an afternoon appointment. A week went by and nothing from them. I called the home warranty company and they called them again and finally setup and appointment.
The guy came in today. He struggled quite a bit trying to remove the shower faucet trim. In doing that he scratched the trim quite a bit. He finally got to the faucet and opened it and a bunch of parts popped out. He then assembled the parts incorrectly trying to put everything back together. I told him a few times how to do it but he argued for his way. Turned the water back on and water coming out of everything he touched and the faucet handle is not doing anything. He finally listened to me and assembled it the right way and installed it. Now the handle works again, the original leak is there of course, and the value is leaking in the wall. When I showed him the leak he tried to convince me that it was there before which is nonsense. Then he said he has to talk to the home warranty company. Came back, collected the $65 fee and said you'll receive a call. He left with water shut off to the whole home and did not come back.
The home warranty company called me and said they reported that the customer has removed the cartridge and damaged it so the whole valve has to be replaced and they have to open the wall from the back to do it. A bunch of lies. I opened the faucet and assembled it the correct way. The problems that this guy created are fixed now and I am back at square one with a leaky shower.
This technician had no idea what is going on. Opened and closed the faucet and did not have a clue what part needs to be replaced. Damaged stuff and left us with no water.
Thank god I am handy and I could bring things back to where it was before they came into my home. Stay away from them.
