Back in 2000, I visited California for a holiday. At that time, I held a position as an Electrical supervisor for Raytheon System Engineering based in the Micronesian region. I was captivated by the climate & the diversity of the people living here, it was amazing. Being a licensed electrician in a couple of other states for the past twenty years, thus the change was relatively simple. I completed my contract with Raytheon and returned in 2001, at which point I was employed here as an electrician for the Parrott Mechanical team, while getting ready for the state exam for electrical contractors, and I successfully passed the first go and officially went into business, on December 21, 2001. The launch pad date for Peebles Electric Service. I’ve never felt any hesitations or that path. I have a passion for my work and a greater desire to satisfy my clients, and that alone has been my driving force in such a rewarding and competitive field. I appreciate it! for your support, Gordon.
I go by Gordon Peebles. I began my journey in electrical work started at the age of eight. I developed a fascination for the mysteries of electrical energy. During my third-grade year enrolled me in a youth club called the 4H club, which focused on electricity. I studied electricity for four years and then worked with the community electrician on weekends for field experience, subsequently later in secondary school for four more years earning a credential in Electrical studies. Once I completed high school, I secured a full-time role as an electrical apprentice where I learned the skills of electrical tools use, installation and applications of systems, reading blueprints and troubleshooting systems. Subsequently, I took a two-year program at Sumter Area Technical College in: Electrical Maintenance and State Electrical Exam, earning two journeyman licenses, one in the state of SC and the state of Massachusetts. After three years, I gained admission to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned an Associate of Arts degree in Electrical Engineering. I consider myself honest, just, and devoted.

I am here warning you not to do any further business with Gordon Peebles Electric. Gordon came to my home in Maxwell Park and made a bid on attic rewiring job. He told me it was a two day job. Then i sent him $250 PayPal. He complained irrationally about how much he hates PayPal. And then insisted i send him the deposit through Zelle. I asked him to reverse the extra payment to PayPal, and he told me that it cannot be done by him (not true). I have entered a dispute with PayPal and should hopefully get a refund.
He showed up day one, but only went and bought materials.
Next day he came looked at the job and insisted that it was way more work than he had estimated. And left after about one hour.
After that he told me he would come back Wed. He did not. Then he told me he would return Thursday. He did not. Then after not responding to my phone calls and texts, he said that it was just a typographical error and he meant Friday.
At that point, i could no longer make sense of his words and behavior.
He began to complain that i had misread the situation ! After several strange texts he told me he would be returning my funds, we agreed to cancel the job.
But he has not returned my deposits on the job. Claiming that he never got them. I now understand that it is near impossible to recover funds from Zelle pay. No recourse.
Folks, don't ever hire this man. His personality is abrasive and manipulative. And never pay by Zelle, or any app that does not allow you to dispute the transaction.

An amazing company with amazing service. After talking with so many electricians and having a runaround, Gordon was able to skillfully solve my issue in a very thorough manner. I could not be happier with his work. Looking forward to working with you again!

Amazing service! I contacted them through Nextdoor. They responded immediately and were at my house within the hour!
Problem (a faulty receptacle ) was quickly replaced, a super pleasant repairman and a fair price. I will use them again.

We were initially delighted with Peebles Electric, but over the course of a couple of jobs we found things that made us unhappy and led to us not trusting them anymore.
We started with a fantastic garage lighting / outlet install and panel upgrade (minus one no-show) and kind of slid downhill from there.
1. Several times we were canceled on with no call or a very late one. (Usually due to a broken down truck.) We have demanding jobs and taking a day off to meet with a contractor puts pressure on both our family and our teams. Not hearing (despite many phone calls) whether someone is actually going to show up, is unacceptable.
2. A tablet went missing from our bar on a day the team were in the house alone. We can't prove who took it. (We have now installed cameras.) We do, however, know exactly where it was in the middle of the day and where it wasn't by the end, because we had a photo of its location. Later on Gordon contacted us saying he felt bad about it going missing and wanted to reimburse, but we never responded. I don't know how you invite someone back into your house after something has gone missing.
3. Our recessed lights in our kitchen were flush on the day of install but have gradually slipped and are no longer flush with the ceiling.
We feel like we've given a series of chances to Gordon and his team but now need to seek another electrician. My husband and I frequently remark that we wish it had have worked out. We have a ton more work to do on our house. We were really hoping after that first job, that we were on to a winner we could keep and recommend forever.

I found Gordon because he was working on a job next door. We needed some general work done and he quickly took a look at it and sent us a reasonable quote within 24 hours. His work was excellent. He has taken the time to suggest some other work that needs to be done over the course of the year. I like the fact that he sends written estimates and works quickly and very well.
He's courteous, pleasant and honest.

I have used Gordon on several jobs for my clients and he has never failed to provide professional and excellent service. He is courteous, professional and honest. He did the work quickly and with a polished look. Mr. Peebles will continue to be my electrician of choice.I have worked with many others but none have demonstrated the professionalism and courtesy to his clients as Mr. Peebles. Also his pricing was very reasonable compared to others who are not as professional nor polished in their completed work.

I called and talked to Gordon. We made an arrangement for him to come over but he didn't show up. He didn't even call or let us know. We called him multiple times and never got a reply. I don't recommend this place !!!!

It is said that the first impression is the best impression. Well, this was the worst first impression to date! I scheduled an on site quote that was going to be performed by Gordan (that's who I was in contact with). Mr. Gordan gave me a window of 4:00-4:30pm; that's the time he gave me so that he could complete the quote. He text me after 4pm and said that he wouldn't arrive until 6:30pm. That was okay because I understand he could have gotten busy. HOWEVER, it is now 7:00pm and Mr. Gordan still is not here (it is now the close of a business day for the company), he never called and he never text to say he wasn't coming.
I tried to patronize this business but that won't happen now. I waited on your services and you never came through nor did you communicate otherwise! This is a very sure way to lose credibility.
Thank you,
Jerry B.

Disappointing experience. Sorry, Gordon, but I have to be honest. The only thing that stopped me from giving him a 1-star is that he gave me a first time customer 15% discount.
1) I had him install the under cabinet lighting in my kitchen. However, the bottom side of my cabinet ended up getting scratched with his electric screw driver when he gouged a hole for the wires.
2) He missed to buy a part to install my chandelier and he had me run to the hardware store to get it because he had another appointment he would be late for if he had to do it himself. I just really wanted everything to be done so I just went ahead and got it but no paying customer should be subjected to that inconvenience! No one! I basically had to leave him and his other guy alone in my place which really made me feel very uncomfortable!!
3) I asked him if he could raise the chandelier a little more since I saw that he still could. He insisted that it could no longer be raised but I continued to insist because I knew I was right. He gave me attitude and told me not to tell him how to do his job! Wow! He did end up being able to raise it up as I had expected he could. Shocker!
4) After everything that happened, I still wanted to give him another chance. So, I made an appointment with him to replace my leaking shower heads. He didn't show up and he was the one who confirmed the time! I had to cancel a personal appointment just to wait for him.. Only for him to stand me up! I called him, texted him and emailed him. Never heard from him. No apologies, no anything!
Customers deserve better treatment than this. I strongly do NOT recommend this guy.

Gordon is an amazing and meticulous Electrician. He is an honest guy that provides quality and flexible services for an excellent price. I am making sure to call him for my next electrical project! Thanks again Gordon!
