Initial electrical evaluations:
In 2000, I came to California on vacation. During that period, I was employed as an Electrical supervisor for Raytheon Systems based in Micronesia. I became enamored with the climate and the diversity of the people living here, it was wonderful. I was already a licensed electrician in two other states and had been the past twenty years, thus the change was quite smooth. I finished my assignment with them and returned in the year 2001, where I was employed here as an electrician for the Parrott Mechanical team, during my time preparing for the state contractor exam for electrical contractors, I passed the first go and formally launched my business, specifically on December 21, 2001. This was the start of Peebles Electric Service. I have never had any doubts and that decision. I have a passion for my trade and a deeper motivation to serve my clients, and this focus has been my success in such a great and dynamic career. Thank you! for your support, G. Peebles.
You can call me Gordon Peebles. I started in the electrical field began at age 8. I developed a fascination for the strange science of electrical systems. During my third-grade year enrolled me in a club for kids called the 4-H Club, which focused on electricity. I explored electricity for four years and then interned with the local electrician on the weekends for field experience, subsequently later in my high school years for four more years earning a certificate in Electricity. Once I completed high school, I took a full-time job as an apprentice electrician where I learned the skills of electrical tools use, setting up and system applications, reading blueprints and diagnosing systems. I then enrolled in a two-year course of study at Sumter Technical College in: Electrical Maintenance and the state licensing exam, resulting in two journeyman certifications, one in the South Carolina and Massachusetts. Three years later, I gained admission to MIT and obtained an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering. I strive to be reliable, just, plus dedicated.

Amazing service! I contacted them through Nextdoor. They responded immediately and were at my house within the hour!
Problem (a faulty receptacle ) was quickly replaced, a super pleasant repairman and a fair price. I will use them again.

We were initially delighted with Peebles Electric, but over the course of a couple of jobs we found things that made us unhappy and led to us not trusting them anymore.
We started with a fantastic garage lighting / outlet install and panel upgrade (minus one no-show) and kind of slid downhill from there.
1. Several times we were canceled on with no call or a very late one. (Usually due to a broken down truck.) We have demanding jobs and taking a day off to meet with a contractor puts pressure on both our family and our teams. Not hearing (despite many phone calls) whether someone is actually going to show up, is unacceptable.
2. A tablet went missing from our bar on a day the team were in the house alone. We can't prove who took it. (We have now installed cameras.) We do, however, know exactly where it was in the middle of the day and where it wasn't by the end, because we had a photo of its location. Later on Gordon contacted us saying he felt bad about it going missing and wanted to reimburse, but we never responded. I don't know how you invite someone back into your house after something has gone missing.
3. Our recessed lights in our kitchen were flush on the day of install but have gradually slipped and are no longer flush with the ceiling.
We feel like we've given a series of chances to Gordon and his team but now need to seek another electrician. My husband and I frequently remark that we wish it had have worked out. We have a ton more work to do on our house. We were really hoping after that first job, that we were on to a winner we could keep and recommend forever.

I found Gordon because he was working on a job next door. We needed some general work done and he quickly took a look at it and sent us a reasonable quote within 24 hours. His work was excellent. He has taken the time to suggest some other work that needs to be done over the course of the year. I like the fact that he sends written estimates and works quickly and very well.
He's courteous, pleasant and honest.

I have used Gordon on several jobs for my clients and he has never failed to provide professional and excellent service. He is courteous, professional and honest. He did the work quickly and with a polished look. Mr. Peebles will continue to be my electrician of choice.I have worked with many others but none have demonstrated the professionalism and courtesy to his clients as Mr. Peebles. Also his pricing was very reasonable compared to others who are not as professional nor polished in their completed work.

I called and talked to Gordon. We made an arrangement for him to come over but he didn't show up. He didn't even call or let us know. We called him multiple times and never got a reply. I don't recommend this place !!!!

It is said that the first impression is the best impression. Well, this was the worst first impression to date! I scheduled an on site quote that was going to be performed by Gordan (that's who I was in contact with). Mr. Gordan gave me a window of 4:00-4:30pm; that's the time he gave me so that he could complete the quote. He text me after 4pm and said that he wouldn't arrive until 6:30pm. That was okay because I understand he could have gotten busy. HOWEVER, it is now 7:00pm and Mr. Gordan still is not here (it is now the close of a business day for the company), he never called and he never text to say he wasn't coming.
I tried to patronize this business but that won't happen now. I waited on your services and you never came through nor did you communicate otherwise! This is a very sure way to lose credibility.
Thank you,
Jerry B.

Disappointing experience. Sorry, Gordon, but I have to be honest. The only thing that stopped me from giving him a 1-star is that he gave me a first time customer 15% discount.
1) I had him install the under cabinet lighting in my kitchen. However, the bottom side of my cabinet ended up getting scratched with his electric screw driver when he gouged a hole for the wires.
2) He missed to buy a part to install my chandelier and he had me run to the hardware store to get it because he had another appointment he would be late for if he had to do it himself. I just really wanted everything to be done so I just went ahead and got it but no paying customer should be subjected to that inconvenience! No one! I basically had to leave him and his other guy alone in my place which really made me feel very uncomfortable!!
3) I asked him if he could raise the chandelier a little more since I saw that he still could. He insisted that it could no longer be raised but I continued to insist because I knew I was right. He gave me attitude and told me not to tell him how to do his job! Wow! He did end up being able to raise it up as I had expected he could. Shocker!
4) After everything that happened, I still wanted to give him another chance. So, I made an appointment with him to replace my leaking shower heads. He didn't show up and he was the one who confirmed the time! I had to cancel a personal appointment just to wait for him.. Only for him to stand me up! I called him, texted him and emailed him. Never heard from him. No apologies, no anything!
Customers deserve better treatment than this. I strongly do NOT recommend this guy.

Gordon is an amazing and meticulous Electrician. He is an honest guy that provides quality and flexible services for an excellent price. I am making sure to call him for my next electrical project! Thanks again Gordon!

I called Peebles on a Sunday morning at 8:45am when my microwave wouldn't start up. I knew it was an electrical problem because the fridge and toaster were also not working at first but began running after I tripped the ground switch (?, something I learned from Google).
Gordon answered which surprised me because his hours are listed at 1-6pm and said he could swing by between 12 and 12:15pm. I also asked him if he could also install our new chandelier which had been sitting in its box for about 4 weeks (couldn't get an electrician to come out).
He showed up promptly at 12:07pm and assessed my situation. The microwave was an easy fix and he instructed me on what to do the next time it happened. The chandelier installation was equally smooth. He removed the 80's style chandelier that was there when we bought the house and installed our new modern chandelier. Because the clamp was a little smaller than the original, there was about 1/4 inch of old green paint that was apparent. Gordon offered to touch up the paint using some we had in the garage so that it was a seamless transition. The chandelier looks great and I just heated up my lunch in the microwave.
I will definitely call Peebles for any electrical we need done. He also has a GC business and we will definitely consider using his team for our imminent bathroom remodel.

Gordon is absolutely an excellent electrician!!! I wish I would have hired him from the start! My previous electrician had messed up and not gotten a permit for 10 months. Luckily the old electrician was able to get the panel upgrade to pass inspection and felt the need to perform some free work due to the long delay. the previous electrician had wired up my hot tub in a way that would have energized the hot tub and potentially not responded to a ground fault. Thanks to Gordon he fixed this issue at a very reasonable price! Gordon and his company provide very fast flexible scheduling. I would Highly recommend him to anyone. So here is what impressed me with his company:
- Fast, easy, and flexible scheduling
- Very reasonably priced
- He takes pride in his work by cleaning up after himself and his work spaces
If it was possible for me to give him 10 stars I would!!! Absolutely Impressed!!!!
