We had a major outage for our house and after speaking with PG&E they recommended we find a local electrician. John and his son were very friendly and arrived a few hours later, on a Saturday. They both are personable and very knowledgeable. Turns out we need an entirely new panel, much to our shock. We were unable to contract Peak for our job as they do not take credit cards, despite it being listed as a form of payment they accept, but will definitely call them whenever we have a smaller issues. Great local, family business!

I called John 3 days before a contractor was scheduled to install a new patio in our back yard which would also include a new spa. Conduit for the spa wiring need to be buried before the patio construction started. John and his son and business partner Dakota arrived 2 hours after the call to assess the situation. They were there the next day to bury the conduit before patio construction started. After the spa was delivered they returned to finish the wiring, but not before helping to determine the best location for the spa relative to the conduit previously buried. They also overcame what would have been a limitation caused by the wiring provided by our home builder. They not only wired the spa, but helped start it up, add chemicals and verify that all functions of the spa operated properly. John even sent a text later that evening to check to see the heater was working properly. I would highly recommend Peak Electrical for any spa installation or other electrical work.

After calling about 10 other electricians I encountered Peak Electrical. They picked up the phone within a couple rings, and when answering were very professional and pleasant to speak to. What encouraged me to write a review was their honesty. I briefly explained the electrical problem I was having and they helped me troubleshoot over the phone. We found out that the solution was replacing a fuse, (easy fix) as I own a plumbing business and am pretty capable he suggested that it may be an issue I can fix myself, that he would hate to have to charge me for the job. I will use Peak electric every chance I get!!
P.S I hired him anyways as a thank you for the exceptional service!

Life saver! I received the keys to my new house on 12/13. We discovered that the thermostats in the home were not working. The homeowners insurance could not find anyone to respond until Christmas Eve. My realtor found Peak electric and they responded the same day!!! Very professional. They fixed the issues and we were able to enjoy a cozy Christmas! Thank you!

I had the pleasure of dealing with John today from this company. Although it was not an emergency situation, John was at my home with an hr and a half of me contacting him. He located the issue and resolved it quickly. I would recommend him and his company to anyone.

So I was having some sort of electrical crisis in my home office. For some reason, half of the outlets and switches stopped working. I don't know much about electrical type stuff, but it was most inconvenient because I was facing a deadline! I called Peak Electrical and scheduled an appointment for the same day. They were an hour late but called to let me know they were running behind schedule. Once they arrived, they did a very thorough diagnostic and found the source of the faulty wiring. They made a huge effort to patiently explain the problem to me which was considerate of them. The next day, they brought back parts, tested everything, made sure everything was working to my satisfaction. They offered to come back at no charge if I had any other problems. I liked working with them. They seem patient, fair, trustworthy. And they did not charge too much either--which was surprising considering how much time they spent getting it right. Seem like good guys and I would use them again.

They came to my house within 2 hours and found the problem right away. Father and son team were so nice and explained everything they were doing. So thankful for their work and availability.

We had Dakota put in three ceiling fans in our new house. Great job, great price. He gave us a quote that stayed the same. Very professional. I think Dakota is being groomed to take over his dad's business.

We just moved into our new home in Oakley and found we had a faulty electrical socket. When I replaced the socket the circuit breaker tripped and I couldn't get it to reset. It was late, after 9 PM, and I figured I'd have to wait until morning to speak with an electrician. I found Peak Electrical on Yelp and called and left a voicemail and got a call back 5 minutes later. The person on the phone, Dakota, listened carefully and said if it was an emergency he'd come right out even though it was now almost 10 PM but I said we could wait a few hours and scheduled the appointment for the next morning. Dakota called 20 minutes before he was scheduled to arrive to let me know he was on his way. He showed up a few minutes early and had the problem diagnosed and fixed in less than 20 minutes. He charged a very reasonable fee, having not worked with an electrician for many years it was actually less than I feared, plus he spent extra time reviewing some other issues I had. Dakota actually made a stressful situation enjoyable. After the appointment, Dakota's dad John, the owner of Peak, called to make sure everything went well. I assured him it did. In just one encounter I know Peak is a good contractor and has good people running it. I'll be doing some home electrical projects in the next few months and Peak will get all of my business.

First and foremost, do not let these people in your house, at all.
I simply needed a single outlet replaced and the recent heat wave only exacerbated the problem, causing an entire wall of outlets and switches to not work, which affected some major appliances that I needed working.
I called Peak b/c my go to guy was unavailable and I saw the A+ rating/BBB cert on their website (which I now think is probably fraudulent), spoke to Dakota, who quoted me $75/hr but at a 2hr minimum. We set an appointment for later in the day (they were late and did not call me to say so).
When they arrived, we started talking about the problem and they (both dad and son) started running around my house and taking things apart. Did I mention they haven't even given me an estimate of what the job would entail yet?
After all of 40 minutes, John, the dad, says to me, ""I don't know what you were told over the phone but it's going to be $225 + 5 more if paying with card, and he tried to play it like I was getting a discount!
At this point I just wanted them out of my house. Yes, they fixed the problem, but tipping yourself an extra $50, a little egregious don't you think?
Oh yeah, I already had a replacement outlet (parts) ready to go, so no trips (gas) to the hardware store, so how does that add up to 225 f*ing dollars??
Also, while Dakota, the son, who actually did the work, I kept seeing John kinda peeping around my house which made me extremely uncomfortable. I should have stopped the BS right there.
I paid with a check, and they asked I make it out to the son. Hello??? Not the company??? Which means probably not recorded on their company books.
So dishonest....
Let my experience serve you well in making your decision to use these guys (or not).
