Calling Peaden a ""Rip-off"" and ""Scam artists"" is being kind to them. Peaden tried to charge us $1,800 to do a simple commode install (the old one had already been removed) and attach a p-trap and the hot/cold water lines to a new sink we had bought (fixtures were already installed). The only other item that the installer needed to do was remove about an 18 inch section of baseboard and put a couple screws into the wall to flush the $149 vanity we bought from Home Depot to the wall. Two hours of time tops. We told the installer to leave and we called Peaden to complain. The manager agreed and his offer was to bring it down to $900. What a complete joke! That job was $300 tops.

We figured out their scam. They refuse to provide any labor or flate-rate job fees upfront. Instead, they require you to pay $85 for someone to come out and look at the job. Then they hit you with an exorbitant rate. If you don't pay it, they keep your $85.

If you want to pay 2-3x the cost then go here. They quoted me near $800 to hook up 2 gas appliances, mind you, I already had the parts. To note: Lowes quoted me $340 with parts.

I also had to pay an $89 diagnostic fee for them to look at my appliances... I told them from the beginning what needed to be done. It took less than 5 minutes. $89 for 5 minutes of getting a quote.

I also had duct work quoted. They were far more expensive than other competitors with good reviews. $10,000 compared to a competitor (one with good reviews) who quoted me $6,000.

The technician was also looking at my water heater for no reason at all other than to try to point out that it has corrosion and is not up to code... well yeah... I know! The water heater is 11 years old! I have no issues with my water-heater and never mentioned it in my requested service quote.

Snake oil salesmen.

I would definitely not recommend them.

Very good company for air conditioning and plumbing services. Very thorough on air conditioning service and Jeremy, their service tech, explained what he was checking and what to do to keep the air conditioner running efficiently. Very pleased.

Over the past 5 years we've used Peaden for a variety of HVAC and electrical work in our condos. We have found them to be reliable, prompt, efficient, and courteous.

We've used them for installation of HVAC, water heaters and large electrical projects. We also have a very useful contract for them to conduct seasonal check-ups & Tuen-ups of our systems.

While close to the top end of the $ scale, their services are well worth the money.

You ""get what you pay for"" is a time-honored saying that holds true with Peaden and their staff of polite schedulers and office staff and, especially with their trained technicians.

I live out of town but have a rental condo on Okaloosa Island. I had a guest staying and the guest toilet quit working. My agency's plumber was unavailable so they called Peaden Air and Plumbing. They charged me $149 for an after hour call and they quoted me a total price of over $550 to fix it. I told them no, that was a ridiculous price. My agency's plumber went the next day and for the service call and fixing the problem, it was a total charge of $77. It just needed a new flapper. Obviously, I'm furious that they practice such price gouging. I hope all potential clients reads this. Beware of unnecessary services and price gouging.

Terrible service. Horrible company. They took almost 6 days to repair my elderly parents air conditioning in 100+ Florida heat. In these times when you can get something overnight, there is absolutely no excuse. Breaks my heart they had to endure the heat that long. I live 4 hours away. I am not sure how you are still in business.

These guys are a plum joke!! I had them bid a remodel job to run service to 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, and a laundry room. They wanted $46,000!!!! I asked them if the pipes were made of gold. They did not write back. To compare, the plumber we went with charged $550 per fixture, which came out to about $6,500.

I have a small studio apartment and has a hotel type AC unit (PTAC). The unit was in the apartment when I bought the property. The unit was recently cleaned and stopped working during a recent bought of cold weather. I called Peaden in Fort Walton Beach. Their dispatch in Panama City took the call. They sent somebody out approximately 4 days later. I was charged $89.00 and there was no attempt to repair or diagnose the unit, the technician basically stated he hated working on this type unit. He found a blown fuse and didn't have a replacement. He recommended replacing the unit since we didn't know how old the unit was and various other reasons. He left and sent me I waited for a consult by a different person to replace the unit. 1 hour later they showed up and tried quoting me for a different type unit that would require structural modification. I was told they didn't make these hotel type units any more. The. A call from their parts guy came in with a quote of $2250 for a similar unit that might fit.... I went on line and found their model number and bought the same unit they recommended for $610.... very disappointed to say the least...but they did offer me 5% discount - thanks but no thanks. The unit was plug and play and swapped out in less than 10 minutes.
