I've never been happier to write a check to someone.

I had four recessed lights installed in my living room. I reached out to several electricians, and PDO (Peter) had a significantly lower quote than everyone else. Part of this was because he quoted me only for labor, and requested that I buy my own materials, in the interest of keeping my cost down. Everyone is different, but I prefer buying my own materials, because I don't want to be needlessly charged up. Plus, you get to choose the aesthetic.

Peter arrived on time, finished the job exactly when he said he would (4 hours) and charged me the exact amount he had quoted me (notably, no issues came up during my installation). I enjoy talking to tradesmen, so I was in the room the whole time. Peter is VERY easy to talk to, amicable, knowledgable, professional... high marks all around. Additionally, he was very helpful in providing me the information I needed to buy the materials, and let me know whether the items I found would work or not. Importantly, he was also willing to work weekends, while most people are not.

I was nervous prior to his arrival because of his low quote and because of the relatively low number of yelp reviews. I'm so happy I picked him, and while talking to him, found out that he has had a long history working on commercial real estate, before transititioning to residential and starting his own business. From watching him, you can tell he is very meticulous about keeping people's homes clean, and happily answers any questions you might have.

I HIGHLY recommend using Peter, and will definitely be keeping his number on hand for the next project I have.

I hired Peter a few months back to install an outlet and overhead lights in my garage workshop area. The house is about 30 years old and upon his inspection of the situation, he noticed that our panel was from Federal Pacific Electric; a company that had built panels which were determined to be unsafe (http://www.ismypanelsafe.com/fpe.aspx).

So, given that I wanted to install outlets for power tools, he suggested we update our panel for safety reasons and provided me with some information so that I could look into it myself before agreeing to do so. This was really great because it allowed me to use a third party to validate the need for a replacement versus using fear tactics to get me spend more money. He demonstrated a genuine concern for my needs and safety without trying to up-sell me on anything.

Peter installed a new panel, a 4-socket power outlet, light switch and 3 overhead lights in my garage and it all turned out great. He does a very clean, tucked away and smart job. He is a pleasant person to deal with and very communicative. I look forward to hiring Peter again and gladly recommend for your electrical needs.

Perhaps equally important as the quality of the job to me, was that he didn't add an arbitrary ""Foster City"" markup to his prices. His prices were fair and reasonably standard across the board for the same job performed in different areas (naturally there are variables). In both my wife's and my experience, we've had trades professionals try to mark up their pricing when they come to our neighborhood because they assume we're ""rich"" since we live in Foster City. I've even had two different vendors openly tell me that they do mark up prices ""just because they (feel they) can"". Naturally, we didn't hire them. There needs to be more professionals like Peter out there.

All the reviews below me are absolutely correct!

Peter being professional, friendly, detailed orientated, clean, hard working, and most importantly, his pricing is very very fair.

I got a guy who quoted me 3x more than Peter, just for coming out (someone in Palo Alto who's company name starts with an ""O""). I am not complaining, but just that even from talking to Peter compared to the ""O"" guy, it felt totally different. Peter was extremely friendly and helpful, while the other one simply think he is probably the only electrician in the area.

I have to say, if there is a 6th star, I would rate Peter with a 6 star rating.

Peter, in summary, provided the best service we could have possibly asked for.

We have an old house (1940's) and he updated our electrical box, set the wiring for a 240V hot tub, set up the wiring for our new dryer... he did all of this well, neatly and professionally. Peter provided a very detailed and fair estimate (he encouraged us to get other estimates, which were higher than his). He also collaborated with our landscaper and crew laying the concrete for the hot tub along with going above and beyond to talk to the tech supervisors from the hot tub company as it ended up being a 120V hot tub that we wanted him to convert to a 240V... WHICH HE DID!

We highly recommend Peter for small and big issues. We are very pleased with his service.

Peter is a great electrician. He installed the lights in my backyard. Did a professional clean job. Worked 5 hrs non stop till the job was done. He explained everything clearly and took extra steps to make sure it would last for a long time. I wish I had met him before and used him for my previous projects at home. His estimate and charges were also very reasonable. There is a saying you get what you pay for. In this case you get much more then what you pay for :-). I have already recommended him to few of my friends and neighbors.

Great electrician. Installed a ceiling fan for us and helped us fix our flickering lights. Gave us a fair estimate before doing the work, and explained what he was doing, why things were mis-behaving, and preventative steps we could take to keep them from happening again (not an upsell, just like, do this to prevent that type of stuff). Also took care to keep our home clean while he did the work. And just a really pleasant guy.

Peter installed a new ceiling fan for me. Did an excellent job, very professional. He clearly explained any additional charges that may be incurred in case the previously installed fan was installed substandardly. With the quality of service I received, I have to give him an A+.

* His quote was half of what the other guy was going to charge.
* He was able to quickly diagnose the problem with our dining room lights and found an easy fix instead of a costly solution another electrician proposed.
* He did some fairly involved electrical work that we've been postponing for years.
* He was very thorough in testing the installation.
* He was on time and very professional.
* He was able to accommodate our schedule and come on a Sunday.

Peter was great - professional, timely and informative! I bought an electric car and my garage circuit kept tripping - I contacted Peter, he was very prompt with responses, he came on time, diagnosed the problem, and went to work.

Afterwards I had him look at a separate issue and he fixed it in 15 minutes. His prices were reasonable, he was efficient and great!
