You may want a second opinion. I called to specifically have my furnace blower cleaned and was quoted a price. Before he opened the furnace he said there had been a recall on my unit for the heat exchangers and the time period had passed for the recall so it could crack and leak carbon monoxide and I should get a new system. I checked and there had been a recall on some systems. I said Id get a second opinion on that. He had taken some of the components apart. He wanted me sign a document that I had been warned about this. I asked if he was going to clean the blower as that was what I was quoted for and he said no there would be a large extra charge for that. I wasnt signing anything so they just left. I called the furnace manufacturer who said that my unit was not in the recall group and the heat exchangers were still under warranty -they would supply the parts I would have to pay for the labor. And they provided the names of other dealers I could have take a look at it. This fellow was much more of a salesman than a tech. Get a second opinion on what they say and on the price.

Lights flicking here and there, tv going off randomly, hmm...time to call an electrician. Ongaro & Sons came out right away and found that the main panel box on the PG&E metered side smelled of electrical burns. They got ahold of PG&E to come open their panel, and, yep, burns from arcing. This would have caught our house on fire. Wow, feeling lucky and grateful the technicians figured it out so quickly.

Ongaro & Son promptly got replacement parts and handled getting the emergency permit from the county. After the inspector OK'd our electrican's install, PG&E refused to connect the power because of an address issue/problem PG&E had with the County of Sonoma regarding our property address. Ongaro & Sons Electrical Ops. Manager, Aubrey Selfridge, worked especially hard to get PG&E to speed up the process and get us back on line. He kept us informed on a daily basis and we never felt forgotten. Took a week for PG&E to get their act together but Ongaro & Sons technicians and office helped to keep us comfortable and informed.

The attention to detail, the personal phone calls, the ""stay until things get done"" attitude of the technicians, the kindness and professionalism of everyone at Ongaro & Sons was absolutely amazing! I honestly felt like, and I did have, 5 star service! This company is topnotch all-around. We asked for some of their business card to hand out to our loved ones. Ongaro & Sons will be our ""go-to"" always.

We replaced an old heater with an up to date one and we've had problems ever since. It doesn't heat properly, the condenser didn't work so our basement flooded in one section and there is always a huge delay in service. We also paid $13,000 for this heater. Their suggestion was to turn off the heat while we wait for house call.

All I can say is I was truly impressed with the young men that came out to do a complete new venting system under my home. Jose, Tyler and Dylan all very professional and friendly. Jose especially so conscientious to needs required and protecting the house while dragging what seemed like miles of old vents from under the house and them dragging miles of new. Excellent Service. I'll use them again if needed

I had a furnace issue. Ongaro was great scheduling an appt as soon as possible.
Technician, Mark R, showed up on time. Super professional. Determined it was just a loose wire. Total charge was only $98 ( their min fee). Really appreciated his honesty and integrity. Could have easily tried to sell me on a new system as my furnace is 27 yrs old. I will call on Ongaro for all my HVAC needs!

I used Ongaro Plumbing to provide a second opinion on duct work as I was told by another company that I needed to install all new ducts for a cost of almost $8,000 due to rodent infestation. Chris Ostrom came out and spent quite a while under my house and took many pictures to show me. He said that the ducts were in remarkably good shape except for a hole that was made by a rodent long ago. He repaired the hole and agreed with the pest control person that there was not an active infestation. This was certainly good news and I appreciated that he gave me an honest assessment rather than trying to sell me on work that I don't need done. I will definitely call Chris and Ongaro for any future plumbing needs!

We had a really positive experience with Ongaro & Sons on a recent home project. It's always a gamble when you have an emergency plumbing situation and need someone but don't know who to choose. We got lucky with our situation when they were the only ones that could get to our house quickly to fix our main water shutoff value problem. All of the other plumbers I called either couldn't get here within a reasonable amount of time or didn't bother to call me back (Peter Levi Plumbing!). Ongaro & Sons was not only prompt but offered to arrive earlier than expected.

Juan Donan Barragan was the plumber from O&S that did the work. He put us at ease right away, assuring us that what was broken could be fixed. We really appreciated that after worrying about the issue all weekend. He quickly put together the estimate that seemed quite fair and got to work straight away. Within a short time, Juan had replaced all of the broken components and our water was back on. It was a really good first experience with O&S, 100% due to Juan's professionalism. As a result, we're going to hire O&S to do more plumbing work that we've needed to get done and we're requesting that Juan does the work.

Every plumbing situation is different and every plumber that does that work will vary obviously. Our experience with Juan from O&S was very positive and I would feel very comfortable recommending them to friends and family anytime.

We received a proposal from Ongaro & Sons for $16,000 to replace our malfunctioning hot water heater. Ongaro's plumber told us that it wasn't worth the money to try to fix our 14-year old heater, and gave us a litany of problems with the heater. The proposal included $5,000 for the hot water heater, $1,000 for materials/permits, and $9,000 for labor. That's $9,000 labor cost for two plumbers for one day, or about $450/hour per plumber assuming a 10-hour day. I won't even comment on that.

We called another plumber who identified the problem as a leaking overpressure valve which was causing the heater to cycle constantly. He replaced the valve for $250 and told us the heater had years of good service remaining. The heater is working perfectly.

This review is in regards to a technician Ongaro sent to fix my furnace, Chris Ostrom. When the issue proved to be more difficult, he promised to make sure my family had heat before he left that day. He utilized every tool to figure out a really odd situation and stayed for hours to get it fixed. Excellent service.
