Ongaro re-piped our entire house and mostly did a very good job. They took out part of the sidewalk but have not replaced it yet. It is over 3 weeks since the job was finished. They claim it has to be inspected first but have not given me any idea about how long that will take, nor do they seem to be checking with city inspection.
Also, the plumber putting in a new water heater rerouted the overflow discharge to the outside instead of leaving it where it was in the garage. In the process he made a big unnecessary hole in the garage drywall. We wanted it discharging into the garage which is no big deal if it overflows. He did this without asking us when I was home the entire time. I resent that he did not ask first.

Eden Murguia and Jose M. just completed an furnace install at my house in San Ansemlo. Eden and Jose and their team at Ongaro were efficient and organized and made this project stress-free. I can whole heartily recommend Ongaro and Sons.

Called for service. All I needed was a small section of copper pipe replaced. Offered to send a photo. They charge $125 to just come out and would not tell me the cost to replace about 5 inches of copper pipe and solder it! This is a scam! So basically they charge you $125 to just walk through your door and then hit you with another $200+ to replace the pipe and since you are into it for $125 already you don't want to lose out so you pay. I will never call them again.
I might be accepting of the charge but notice how the response does not touch the fact that they hit you with such a high cost for the work that is not disclosed until they come to you. I offered to provide a picture of the 4 inch copper pipe but they would not provide me any sort of estimate for this charge.

Had a water heater issue today and called Ongaro at 8am, told them I had a leak that needed attention, and they arrived at 1. Problem fixed quickly and efficiently by Scott. Appreciate the quick service!

Our air conditioning system was working, but we arranged for an Ongaro & Sons inspection in order to identify any needed maintenance and anticipate any problems down the road. The recommendation was that the system be replaced (at a cost of $11K+), so that it would work more efficiently. We were not prepared to undertake that, but the following day -- a hot one -- the a/c didn't work at all. This seemed to be an odd coincidence, so we called another company for a second opinion. What that tech showed us was that the air conditioner had been left disconnected and the cover had been left off the electrical panel (a safety hazard). We don't know whether this was accidental (which would reflect carelessness or incompetence on the part of the Ongaro technician) or intentional (which would reflect unethical sales methods). Either way, it's made us question Ongaro's business practices and undermined our trust in them. We alerted the company to this situation, but there has been no response. Despite their general good reputation and our positive experiences with their plumbing unit, we can't recommend Ongaro's HVAC & a/c services.

I wanted to leave a review for Ongaro and Sons. My experience started when our Air Conditioner stopped working altogether. Ian from Ongaro and Sons came out and found a bad capacitor which he repaired for us. However, he noticed some other misconfigurations of our duct work. We didn't get much air from our unit even when it was brand new and it barely could keep up with the heat or cold in our house and parts of the house were all different temperatures. He discovered that my intake and supply cfm's were all wrong for my system and were not providing enough for the equipment we had pushing through it. Ian came back for a more comprehensive evaluation and we came up with a game plan to fix the air flow using a second intake in the downstairs and by expanding the size of the existing runs while adding new ones.
Sylvester and Eden came out on a designated day and they conducted the work. Some minor modifications were made to the plan by them to further perfect the end goal, and both Sylvester and Eden expertly executed the plan. I took a look at the work afterwards, and was super pleased with how professional and well done the job was accomplished. The unit works great now and our house is the same temperature in all areas. Ian, Sylvester, and Eden were polite, had fantastic workmanship and were very knowledgeable of their field. I highly recommend them, and I hope Ongaro and Sons takes are of them. They are great assets.
Working with Rick and Cheri on the management side was a pleasure also. They care about the client, the client's concerns on cost and will work with you to make you happy with the whole experience. I had some questions on the pricing of the job and the management team was super happy to Iisten and work things out with me.
I recommend Ongaro and Sons. There are not many vendors you can say ""do a kick ass job at what they do"". But these guys do.

Overpriced! I called them because I was getting whiffs of gas around my stove. Brook the technician came and checked things out. He was nice and professional enough. Turns out there was a small leak in the pipe which was in the crawl space of the house. I asked him to take a picture of the problem area, which he did. I asked him which part of the connection was leaking, he couldn't be specific, said the whole connection apparatus was leaking and needs replaced. I agreed to have it fixed since I was not going to ignore a gas leak. He priced it out to $540. He came the next day after ordering the part (which cost $170) and was there for all of 30 minutes. I was not able to see the invoice until after he emailed it to me. The invoice itemizes 3 labor hours at $190/hr. I called to ask if this was standard pricing procedure as the the repair only took 1/2 hour. I got a message back that a standard gas line repair was actually $909 but the technician knew that the repair was not going to be that time-consuming so the labor was already reduced! Beware, this is a flat-pricing company, not your traditional labor and materials company.

Ongaro & Sons Saves the Day!
Our furnace went out after a PG&E transformer blew resulting in a very chilly house for over a week. No one could pinpoint what the problem was - PG&E, two electricians and one nameless HVAC company all tried to find the source but failed miserably. Enter David from Ongaro & Sons on Day #8. David was able to determine the problem with our furnace and replace the damaged part all within a few hours time having the heat back up and running by the end of the day.
Every interaction I had with the company was very professional - from booking the appointment to having David working in our home. David had to return the following day to adjust a setting on our furnace and was quiet as a mouse as not to wake my sleeping child. He even took the time to pet our wild and crazy dog...two thumbs up in my book!
We couldn't be happier with the work and high level of service we received from Ongaro & Sons and would recommend them to anyone in need of HVAC service.

We had a leak in our kitchen - we had Ongaro fix it and they did a fantastic job replacing piping under our sink that had questionable integrity.
They installed a Moen faucet the same type that we had, but new faucets turned out to be plasticky affairs - quality has dropped in the last decade. They kindly removed the Moen and replaced it with a higher quality faucet that we sourced ourselves without charging for reinstallation.
All the way through the process they kept us clearly informed. They were very responsive and came out very quickly. I would highly recommend Ongaro & Sons.

Unfortunately, I need to update my Ongaro review. I've used them for years and they have always done a great job. I think I got overly comfortable and didn't get alternate bids after a while. I recently had them come and give me a price for a new heater at my Moms, because they told me last year during a service she needed a new one. Well, the bid they gave me was $$$ higher than what I had heard others were paying for the same job. I went ahead and called 2 other HVAC companies, and the bids were thousands lower. I've since heard complaints from others about their pricing, and reviewed some of the cost of the work they've done for me. I don't mind paying more for good work, but really? :-(
