This is an updated review since we decided to use them for our job. They installed two overhead lights for us, one in a bedroom and one in an office. We're in a condo so they had to open up the ceiling for the wiring. They covered everything, vacuumed, and taped it up nicely (someone else will patch).

I feel safe with Old Town Electrical. They never take advantage -they do good work -they let you know what they see as an issue (important in a older home) and they helped me prioritize upgrading my electric in a way that was safe and affordable
I have NEVER been so loyal to any individual contractor -but I met Ovideo when we had an electrical issue at the large popular restaurant I worked at. Several electricians had come and couldn't find the cause if the issue. . Ovideo found the issue and saved the restaurant from an electrical fire brewing in the wall. ( he actually felt the wall for heat)
I always and will always recommend Ovideo and his crew. Ovideo is an honest, ethical and talented electrician. I am a loyal customer for about 15 years!

I have been in business for 30 years and have worked with contractors in several states. I simply cannot say how disappointed I was in Old Town Electrical.

The owner, Ovidio, came out to my house to see what needed to be fixed and made a list. With the exception of one fixture, they provided all the parts. One of the items was replacement of a thermostat for the heater. However, it didn't work. On speaking to the owner he said they didn't normally do that kind of repair and I should call a heating company to repair it. I was quite surprised as he himself made the list of things to be repaired and didn't mention it at the time.

I said I would call a heating company but I expected a refund for the part and the time I was charged for the repair. He replied that they did not warranty work that was done on an hourly basis only if it was quoted for the job. The heating company I called to do the work was incredulous on hearing this. On top of that they are very high priced. Without telling me they added a 15% ""overhead"" charge on the final bill.

While the electricians were there I had to call the office as they had disappeared for a few hours. Turns out one was in the attic and didn't hear me, the other off buying items and eating lunch. It was very expensive and they weren't there for the entire day.

I don't trust this company. They are nice but entirely unprofessional, do not back up their work and charge at the high end.

Ovidio is knowledgeable and easy to work with. He was also fast to respond in these days when everybody seems to be too busy. I consider this company to be ""my"" electricians now--fair price and good work.

Wonderful job! They were incredible to work with, they did a great job adding string lights to the backyard as well as changing outlets and light fixtures. Would definitely recommend. Very responsive and nice people.

After a power surge had 3 outlets and an outdoor light out. Found OTE via a Nextdoor recommendation.

Called around to a few different electricians. OTE was the most responsive. Had them come out for an estimate, but after a quick diagnosis decided to have them complete the work on the spot rather than my usual system of gathering 3 estimates. Got a good feel from Olivido and trusted him to complete the job, which he did! His rates were reasonable, and way better the Guerrero in Berkeley.

He was honest, easy to work with, and quick. I plan on using them again and would recommend them to friends and family.

Ovidio and his crew did excellent work rewiring the knob and tube with Romex in my house. I wanted to get my attic insulation upgraded, but couldn't do so till the knob & tube was removed due to fire hazard. Ovidio made a great suggestion a year ago to do the electrical upgrade at the same time as I got the roof resurfaced so that the crew could have easy access to my attic space. With a flat roof and 18"" of clearance, it would have been a bear otherwise. They had to completely reconstruct a complex electrical panel and to do so, they needed to move a stud to accommodate the new box. Lots of work! They were responsive, considerate, kind, attentive, and thoughtful at all times. The inspector was pleased with what he found.

Interesting that I'm the first to review this company since they've been around for several years. That being said, I found them to be reliable and professional. So far, the'y've done a few jobs around my house which not only were done well but were done in order to correct some really sketchy work.

Ovidio and Omar are great,. I think they smile but ya can't tell since they wear their masks all the time.

ovidio provided detailed contract cost sheets, and was thoughtful about mid-job adjustments. A quality result is his top priority, but he was also sympathetic to cost constraints. He is very customer centered- even bringing his team over on a Saturday to make sure we had plugs and lights on the day we moved into our new space. I look forward to continued work with ovidio and his team.
