I was very disappointed in Rob Kantor. Most of the tasks I asked him to take on, he said he didn't do, including painting an iron stair railing, caulking a kitchen sink, cutting down the legs of a rustic dining table, etc. The one task he took on, which was that my music didn't consistently play through one of my speakers. It would come in and out. He said he believed he fixed that latter problem by re-stapling the wire in places, but actually what he did not fix the problem. So I paid him $75 (his hourly rate) for one small task of covering up the wiring to my phone system with a small plastic plate.

Oddjob Rob has done two different jobs for me over the years (kitchen faucet installation and hanging new curtains for patio doors), and he did great work both times. He called the night before to confirm the appointment, arrived on time, did careful work, and didn't leave a mess. He's also very nice!

Rob called to remind me of our meeting, arrived on time, re-set the hinges on a ""fine"" piece of furniture (I was worried but he did it PERFECTLY), added handles to a cabinet, and built a solid little railing for the top of my stairs. He came on time, worked fast, knew what he was doing, and suggested unusual and clever solutions. He's a legit, old school handyman-craftsperson and I won't hesitate to call him again.

I hired Oddjob Rob for the first time today and was very impressed with his work. He removed an old medicine cabinet and mirror and modified then hung a new, very heavy medicine cabinet. Everything was done very well and just as it should be. Seems like he can do anything you would want a handy man to do. He was easy to talk to, punctual, and I definitely plan to engage his services again.

Contacted Rob on Yelp. He responded in a timely manner. Arranged for install of LED Wall pack light on front of my house. He was exactly on time and did a stellar job of installing the light. There was an issue with fit and I couldn't find the panel for front light...but he did. Took his time and had parts needed to make it fit properly on my house. His price was right too. Thank you Rob.

My senior citizen mother who has some mobility limits had a new bed that was too high for her, by about 4-5 inches. It seemed we could cut the legs shorter if we had the know-how and tools. A friend recommended Oddjob Rob. He and I discussed the project by phone and made a plan. He showed up when he said he would and took care of the situation, even though several things were a surprise once he got into the project. (There were metal legs, wooden legs, and a plastic legs, instead of just wooden legs, on this bed.) And his price was very reasonable. My mother is happy with the bed as it is now modified and I am so happy to recommend Oddjob Rob.

Rob has been helping us out for many years and I cannot recommend him highly enough! He does terrific work, is fast, friendly, efficient and very reasonably priced. He is very responsible, always showing up when he says he will. He's also very honest and will always let you know if there's something he's unable to fix.

I moved to the Bay Area a few years back and have long needed a handful of jobs done - but didn't really know who up here might be trustworthy or affordable. Finally I had to get the work done - checked Yelp to see who seemed to get good ratings - and chose Rob. And I could not be happier that I did. You never really know if five-star reviews are really reflective of the person or the work - and Rob's are! 100%. First off, he's thoughtful, caring, tries to understand what you want done and how it might best be effected, and utterly responsible. And on top of that his work is great - and as affordable as it is excellent. Not all the work I needed done was easy: a closet bar had had to be rehung in drywall, a lamp fixture had to be hung and wired, a tv had to be fixed to a wall, an unsupported mantle had to fixed above a fireplace, and - most difficult - some immense paintings I have had to be hung very high up (12 - 15 feet) in a difficult-to-hang space that barely accommodated a ladder and which were challenging to say the least. And he not only did it all, but did it great! It ended up being more affordable than I expected and it all looks fabulous. I will not only work with Rob again - he will be the handyman I use for as long as he cares to keep doing this kind of work. Don't hesitate to work with Rob. He's great!

Rob was recommended to me by my friend and neighbor, and I hired him to build a garden shed made of cedar wood. It was a very complex project, involving lots of pieces and a small space to work in.
Rob did an amazing job! The shed looks wonderful, everything fits nicely, and I am super happy :-)

The best handyman experience I have had in 20 years of property ownership. Can't say enough good things about Rob but I'll try: He works fast, efficiently, and is an expert at what he is doing. On this visit, he fixed badly damaged door hinges, track lighting, and door bell. He had all his own tools and parts with him. He's a great communicator and called the night before to confirm our appointment. Definitely a go-to guy.
