As per usual with any job there were a few surprises in dealing with a 40 something old condo. They dealt with them professionally and made sure we were always within code. They were a pleasure - Chris , Carlos, Brian - to work with.

Owner of company told me he was going to be here 730 am. Took off work and got up early. Not only did he not pick up the phone or text he was running late or cant make it.. never any response. Had me take out my damn washing machine nigjt before to get to electric and never showed up and redused to answer his phone. That is extremely unprofessional on so many levels. If they can be this way, imagine if they screw up a job and blow you off afterwards.

We had a major rewire job (for average homeowner) that included replacement of 2 sub panels and service/panel along with rewiring 10 of older household circuits. This included wiring for detached garage which isn't ready just yet so they ran the future underground circuits and terminated, (waiting for the general contractor to be ready for electric). I am experienced with residential electrical work, (just physically unable to do this job). We had several other electrical contractors give us quotes that were about half of Jeff's, but I knew they couldn't do the job properly for the quoted amount. I found that interesting, but it was almost scripted from 3 other contractors. All of the other electricians provided information that I knew to be incorrect (about AFCI/GFCI combination breakers, which I insisted on using for older ungrounded circuits to be safe) but Jeff from Ocean was straight on with his knowledge and made no attempt to BS this customer. I have never signed with the highest bidder before, but am glad that we did this time. At this point, most of the work is completed, except for some minor plaster repairs which we are holding off on until the drywall people are here working in the garage (a much bigger job).

Overall, Jeff and Ernie did a great job. The permits were pulled from the city within a week and they were able to start work a few days later. This project required more rewiring than expected, as they changed plans in the middle of the project after finding some unexpected conditions (with old wiring). These changes made for a better, neater job and a safer/more professional electrical system than what we originally planned on.

Ocean Electric did a great job in the attics which was my biggest concern (their generally hot and hard to work in). The 3 electricians were very thorough and careful with all their work. Extra care was taken whenever the work involved generating lots of dust (as in cutting plaster and drilling holes). The wiring and connections inside each panel are neat and professionally organized. The service replacement went very smooth and they did an excellent job removing the old equipment and rebuilding boxes that were more functional and better organized. They were careful and cleaned up after themselves each day.

Fort Lauderdale was here for the final inspection 2 days ago (there had been 2 other inspections which were immediately signed off). Everything was up to code on final and the permit was signed off and closed. I have not heard from Jeff about final payment, so we sent a check to the office for the balance.
