Jason from Oak Electric did an excellent job of overhauling our electrical in our new home in Portola Valley. Upgraded our electrical panel, distribution box, and updated all the sockets and switches as well as installing roughly 30 canned lights throughout the home along with several other lighting updates. From the beginning Jason was professional and personable and provided a very competitive quote for all that work and frankly was a joy to work with. He even handled a few miscellaneous items that i threw his way for no extra charge. We will be using Oak Electric in the future for our needs and I would recommend you do as well.

I bought a new washer. After used it for only a few days, I cannot turn it on. My husband checked breaker panel and turn it on and off couple of times but the outlet still does not have electric. I think it is beyond our safety zone to fix it by ourselves, so I searched my nextdoor and found couple of recommendations for Jason. I am so glad we called him. He found the neutral line for washer outlet was lose, seems previous electrician did not tight it up and it can be pull off at the site. That neutral line has burned and it could cause fire if not been fixed! Jason told me that normally he will do diagnostic before he drove to client home to save their money if it may just need to reset breaker panel. I will definitely call him again if I need an electrician.

We started out spec-ing a 240W electrical outlet in the garage for a new car. Then the solar guys told us we'd need our main electrical panel moved around a corner and upgraded before they could install. So we plopped a big job on top of a small one.

Jason took care of everything (permit, installation, inspections) in a very friendly and personable manner. The timing was a bit loose-y-goose-y but we were the ones who'd trebled the size of the job, so I really can't complain. It was all done with a minimum of downtime for us.

The city inspector complimented us on how well the job had been done and asked how we'd found Jason since good electricians are scarce these days. (Our next-door neighbors had recommended Oak Electric, then I'd verified here at Yelp).

We were charged exactly what he estimated and the whole system has been working beautifully for a month now.

If possible, I would give Oak Electric 10 red stars! I needed an electrician to replace an outlet and also repair a florescent fixture in my kitchen. My husband has Alzheimer's Disease and becomes very agitated when there are strangers in the house, so I needed an 8:00 am appointment as my husband sleeps late in the morning and the work should be completed before he wakes up. I had two bad experiences with electricians in the past; one never showed and never called back and the other after waiting and waiting I called and they never had me on the schedule! So I was very eager to find an electrician who would be dependable and arrive at the scheduled time of 8:00 am. I looked on Yelp for an electrician near Menlo Park and I found Oak Electric; the reviews were great so I called; Jason immediately picked up. I told him my situation and he said he would send Jordan, one of his employees, and assured me he would be on time. After I talked with Jason I felt that everything would go well. So today, 5 minutes BEFORE 8:00 am Jordan rang my doorbell and my heart did a little happy dance! Jordan was so friendly, courteous, respectful and efficient - he completed the work in 40 minutes; I was ecstatic! Thank you Oak Electric for restoring my faith that there are reliable, capable and efficient professionals who take pride in their work and also are dedicated to making the client happy and satisfied!

My 84 yr old Mom had been experiencing periodic power outages. On my initial phone call, Jason was both very polite and informative. He was one of three that came by to give us a quote and both my Mother and I felt good about Oak Electric. My line of business is working with Seniors and I truly appreciated that he was quite patient with my Mom (especially a few times when she got to be a bit chatty with him.)

Jason and Jordan did an awful lot of work - as this house was built way back in 1949. I rarely take the time to comment on Yelp about services I or my Senior clients have received, however in this instance, after seeing how well they worked together and how it all went off without a hitch, I'm happy to! They are friendly and professional. We will be sure to call on them for future electrical needs.

Wow is all I can say! Jason did an amazing job. He installed a new outlet outside for a pool cover, mounted my flat screen TV, ran a bunch of wires inside the walls and then mounted a new outlet for an electric car outside. His price was very reasonable.

We agreed on a price before the install which can be good for price control but can be bad for how long they spend on the job. But he was great... When he showed up he took his time and made sure everything was perfect. When mounting the TV he spent a long time making sure the TV was centered to 1/16 of an inch in all directions. He cleaned everything up and you couldn't tell work had been done.

I could not have been happier with Jason and plan to use him for all of my future electrical needs.

Jason and his protege not only did an awesome job (as these many other reviews claim), but stands by his work even under changing circumstances. After switching over our 240volt to support our switch from an electric to gas dryer, we discovered that our gas meter didn't support the additional BTUs necessary to do so, so switched it back without charging additional. This along with the many improvements made along the way will make him our first call electrician in the future.
