So I have been meaning to write a review for many years. We've been using Vigen for all our HVAC needs and he's fast, reliable and knows his stuff. He rebuilt the original system that wasn't installed well when we first renovated. Redid ducting and properly attached A/C unit to roof so it would stop its horrible vibrating. Insulated furnace. He properly vented our attic. Then he installed a mini split unit in our guest house. Works great. He also maintains our units. Couldn't recommend more!

Beware of Robert at North Air. He may know his business but his
practices are unethical and dishonest. Over the phone he quotes a $120 service fee which is quite high but may be worth it. After he gets there, the charge became $200. He is in a rush and asks if you want to get it fixed immediately to avoid another $200 service charge. Over the phone, a thermostat is $269. He told me I needed a thermostat with some wiring. The price he gave me was $1200! He told me the thermostat was $375 and it was just a simple one. But how did he charge $1200 for a $200 service charge with $375. It adds up to $575 to me, how about you? Then he told me everything was fine. The next day we still had problems and had to call another company. They noticed that the condensation pan was full of water and leaking. How did a $200 service fee not see this. I hope he changes his practices and doesn't try to take advantage of his customers.

The good: Came out next day when my AC unit stopped running.
The bad: $375 to clean a condensation line and told me to hope that was the issue and not something else, like a bad coil. AC unit stopped again. $375 that I will never see again, for an hours work. Won't be calling North Air again.

My old HVAC condenser failed during the hottest week of July. I already know I wanted the Trane brand of HVAC products and I contacted North Air and worked with Vigen. I had a great experience! Vigen took great care of me and always returned calls as promised. North Air fit me into their busy schedule and in four hours, did a complete system replacement with a 16 SEER Trane system. I nice neat and clean install in a very short amount of time. I really want to thank Vigen for their professionalism, on-time arrival and a very clean installation. I would recommend these folks and will continue to use them for my annual check ups of course!

Vigan came out twice to help me with our AC after we bought our new house. The second time was just for a clogged filter that I probably should have been able to diagnose and fix myself, and he was nice enough not to charge me for the visit. He called me back right away both times, and was over within an hour. Would definitely recommend!

North Air's experienced installer Vigen installed our new Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system. His name is Vigen, but he is not a vegetarian. Our house was a 1950 house with no AC and no working furnace. So, we need an Air Conditioning (AC) system, ducts, 7 registers, 2 air returns, a thermostat, a Heat Exchanger, Forced Air Unit and a Furnace. Also, we had North Air remove our old non-working furnace from the crawl space.
Vigen, an installer with 30 years of experience, managed the installation with one additional 30-year installer and two junior installers. Vigen met with us when we wanted a competitive quote against seven other installation companies. He explained the whole process better than the competing company's sales and installation personnel. He gave an approximate estimation before he left the first day and followed up with a formal quote the next day in person. Both quotes matched and his quote was a better value. He offered a more efficient system for slightly less than the other companies. He also recommended an attic exhaust fan, which added very little cost to the estimate but did seem to make sense. Your attic gets 10-30 degrees hotter than the air outside because your roof heats up in the sun. So, an attic fan automatically runs when your attic gets hot, and it reduces your attic temperature about 15-degrees. A 15-degree cooler attic already reduces the temperature in your house before the AC starts, and it also makes it easier for your AC to cool the house. Even on hot July days, I don't need to turn on the AC until late in the afternoon.
North Air was able to start the installation close to the dates we wanted. North Air even coordinated with an Electrical Contractor we brought in to upgrade our Electrical Panel. North Air can do the Electrical Panel upgrade themselves and can install all the electrical connections for HVAC systems, but we wanted to use our own Electrical Contractor and North Air was fine with that. The North Air team came very well prepared with extra parts and tools to deal with any situation that arose. Our crawl space non-working furnace was too big to come out of the crawl space access or through the whole for the old registers in the floor. So that we did not have to make a big cut in our hard wood floors the North Air team got out their cutting tools and cut the old furnace apart so they could remove it though existing holes and access ways. The remove all the old parts of the non-working furnace and capped gas line.
The North Air team worked quickly and worked well with our electrician's team. They coordinated work well and did not interfere with each other. The North Air team built a maintenance walkway in the attic and suspended the Forced Air Unit, ducting and Furnace in the attic as required. The ducting seemed to be well insulated. We purchased the Air Purification System which has a catalytic antimicrobial unit, and two reusable filters that you clean every 6 months. Vigen took the time to teach me how to deactivate the unit, remove the filters, vacuum them, and replace them. It is a little tricky, so he walked me through it twice to make sure I knew how to do it myself. If you want to, he will come back every six months to do this service for a fee, but Vigen will teach you how to do it if you want to do it yourself to save a little money.
Vigen's team finished all the work in two days with time to spare. We had the inspection with the City of Burbank. The inspector came with unexpected findings. Because our 1950 house never had air conditioning before, the inspector treated our house as a new construction house, so we had to meet all the HAVC rules for a new construction house. Vigen made this change, added new ducts, pressure tested our gas line, and met all the other finding requirements the inspector came up with. The next weekday the inspect came and was happy with everything so we got our permit approved for HVAC. Vigen was very quick to fix anything the inspector came up with, even if it was a stricter interpretation than most California inspectors.
The North Air Team did very good work and was well prepared to do the work quickly. They worked well with other contractors working at our house at the same time. Vigen, the managing installer, was very knowledgeable, met with us over 6 times in the process in addition to the installation days. He explained may aspects of the process to us and he answered questions from about a dozen phone calls we made to him. He was always willing to take the time to explain things to us and was glad to meet with us repeatedly. He developed his estimates quickly and stuck to his estimates. He took care of any issue that arose. We are very happy with the process of getting a new HVAC from North Air and we agree that Vigen is a very good and very experienced managing installer.

We received great service from North Air!
We needed a complete removal of our 1983 HVAC unit and ductwork. We needed all new ducts, condenser, furnace, vents and returns. If it had to do with the HVAC, it needed replacement. I interviewed 3 companies and North Air had the best prices and the most attentive service. Vigen is on site with his guys for the entire install time. I decided to hang some curtains while they were there and Vigen saw me and brought out his drill to help me hang my curtains! We called them back a couple of times if we felt something wasn't perfect and Vigen was always willing to come back and make sure we are 100% happy with our new air conditioner.
Thank you North Air!

Great experience with Vigen from North Air.
On a Saturday night, my Nest thermostat reported that the ""R"" wire was not getting power. As a result, the heat stopped blowing out the vents, and my home was frigid throughout the night. First thing Sunday morning (8am), I called North Air. Vigen said he could be at my house within 2 hrs. He came by and diagnosed the problem and left, instructing me to call if there were any issues. Unfortunately, as soon as he left, the furnace turned off again. I called Vigen back and returned within an hour, as promised. Together we troubleshot and identified the problem. He provided a backup solution in case the issue continued . While he was here, he also helped me out with a completely unrelated electrical issue. Finally, Vigen told me to call him if the issue came back and he'd be at my house first thing next morning.
All in all I appreciated the fact that Vigen was able to come to my home early on a Sunday, explain my issue, fix the problem, return promptly when the issue returned, provide me with backup solutions in case the primary fix didn't work, and even do some unrelated electrical work. Top notch service all around.

We had a problem with the heating in early December. Called and got two estimates from separate companies to come and check. They tried to fix it but couldn't find the issue. We then called North Air. They came and checked our heater. It turns out that we didn't have a heating problem; we had a zoning problem. They fixed the dampers and the circuit board which brought our zoning back to normal function. It's been working well ever since. All in all, good service. Would recommend.
