Brian at NOLF inspired my first ever yelp review. His excellent work, professionalism, fair price, unpretentious demeanor, and generally constructive approach to making things work.

It's been tempting for many years to add my voice to the cacophony of yelp opinion when it comes to things like restaurants, bookstores, etc; almost bit the apple many times... but then upon reflection, why, why add more mercury to the barometer charting the general human quagmire of unsolicited opinion? I confess I read it, though.

But I've come to see things differently for local services. People who come to your house, like electricians, arborists, plumbers, contractors etc. At least it's easier to take a reviewer's actual impressions as having some real world gravity. The 5 star reviews you see here about Brian guided me to him and his company NOLF. And I must thank those reviewers for that. Boy were they right! The guy really is an ace.

It's not easy to feel that unconflicted in this area, and in this day and age of regimented-entitlement and high-cost mediocrity. So I guess almost feel a responsibility to add my voice & say something out loud about one of the GOOD ones. So there it is!

Brian came by today and did a great job troubleshooting and fixing my lighting.(My previous electrician was great but he called back too late). He was nice, personable, and quick....Brian saved the day.Awesome!

Awesome job!! Very professional!
Brian and Hank showed up on time and stayed until the job was done. I had them install a ceiling fan in the living room, replace the ceiling fan 8n the dining room and change 2 hall fixtures. Big points for making sure to clean up after!! They answered all my questions and explained what they were doing to ensure the quality of the work. Pricing was very competitive! I'm happy to recommend this company to anyone looking for an electrician and will calling them again!

We are extremely happy with Brian's service! The power had gone out in one wall in our home. We called him that night and he was able to come over the next morning. Even though my toddler was trying to talk his ear off, Brian balanced being warm and being efficient, finding the source of the problem (a burning wire in the front-porch light fixture!) and remedying it quickly. We will absolutely work with Brian again.

I'm giving two stars because I'm super unhappy with the way my experience was handled. So, one star for this time and 4 stars for the last job balances out to 2 stars. Mr. Nolf had previously done a little work on my house and fixed a portion of the wiring mess this house has. He did a good job, was on time and respectful the FIRST time. The second time he was SUPPOSED to do some work for me that was more difficult and involved, he waited until AFTER the scheduled time he was supposed to be here and he called and cancelled. Said he was ""sick"". Odd he wasn't feeling ""sick"" BEFORE our scheduled appointment. I have to call my job 2 hours ahead of time when I'm sick, but he can wait and call AFTER he is already late? Very frustrating as I had to rush home from work (I work nights), and I had rearranged my schedule and my house to accommodate this appt for the jobs that I really needed to have done. To call after the appointment and bail on me is incredibly unprofessional, inconsiderate and rude ESPECIALLY when I had to go through so much to get to this point. I'll have to think loooooong and hard before I utilize his services again. In this day and age there are a LOT of good electricians out there that would welcome the work, and would also be more considerate of MY time as well. Lame.

I don't write reviews. So, this is a favor for the good service I received from Brian and in itself should express how pleased I was with his service.

We bought a home and Brian was sent to us through the home warranty service to fix some electrical that needed attention.

He was prompt, efficient, well humored and in a day where I had no less that four service guys out to repair or replace various issues with our new home, he stood out. The rest of the five star reviews are no BS, stop looking and use this guy.
