I just had Joe come over and replace two outdoor light fixtures and had a really good experience. It's very hard to find someone that doesn't take advantage of you and over charge.

After having a bad experience with another electrical company I called Neighborhood Electrical for a hopeful fix. While what I needed could not be done he was responsive and great to deal with. He also did not charge me for the visit - which he could have. This will be my go to going forward.

Absolutely fast, prompt, courteous service! Joe came out this morning to fix a light on our ceiling fan, and got it fixed right away. He definitely knows his stuff and I appreciated him telling me exactly what he did to fix it. Highly recommended and we will definitely call Neighborhood Electrical again.

I used Neighborhood Electric because I wanted to replace two ballast and four fluorescent lights in a barn. They were completely responsive and got back to me very quickly. They ended up doing the job the very next day, and they even said that I wouldn't need to replace both of them, so that ended up saving me money. We had a ceiling fan light start flickering (1 of 4 only), and reached out based on a recommendation my wife found on Facebook. Joe replied to me within about 30 minutes of my outreach via text on a Sunday morning, and where the 10-15 other businesses I reached out to either declined or just gave their quote/rate for inspection/replacement, Joe asked a further probing question pointing to a troubleshooting step I hadn't done yet, which isolated the issue to the BULB and unrelated to the ceiling fan or any of its light fixtures. Top score for super quick responsiveness while the business is ""closed"", as well as directing the issue towards the least-invasive solution, even if it ""cost"" him my business... THIS TIME that is, as while Joe / Neighborhood Electrical didn't ""render services"" for me in the usual sense, the high caliber integrity and customer service has convinced me and my wife to make them our first call on our next electrical need.

PS, where most all other businesses listed/recommended for my project appear to be UNLICENSED according to CA.gov, Neighborhood Electrical clearly states their CA license # on their website, which clearly indicates proper licensure for the services I'm inquiring about. I'm shocked so many other businesses appear to NOT be properly licensed according to CA.gov!

I got overcharged considerably. I wanted installed five non-canned LED lights overhead. I supplied the lights, the electrician supplied the labor, some 20 feet of electric cord and 2 wall switches and electrical junction boxes. At 1 and 1/2 hours I was charged $1,160.
You be the judge as this electrician prays on homeowners in a plus 55 retirement community.

I cannot recommend Neighborhood Electrical enough. Fast, efficient, integrity.

I utilized these Joe and his dad to install 3 new ceiling fans and move 1 ceiling fan to another room. I also asked for a quote for a whole house rewiring.

They completed the job in about 2 hours and the fans look perfect. There was no mess. Having a professional electrician do the job makes me feel secure that the fans aren't going to short wire and light our house on fire.

As far as the rewiring job, he said our current wiring looked good and he wouldn't recommend we spend the money and hassle. He said if we have circuits trip regularly, then we should think about it at that time. That saved us thousands of dollars.

At the time of this review, he charged $145 to remove an old ceiling light and install a ceiling fan. He charges an additional $95 if the current junction box is not rated for a ceiling fan.

I have to say that I was probably a bit of an annoying customer and yet I was treated respectfully. We set up our appointment window but then found out I was on call for a potential jury duty during the window, so they accommodated me by showing up early in the window and assured me they would be done in time if I had to report at 1:00. They finished the job with plenty of time. The other issue I had was that I wrote a check to pay and 2 days later got a fraud alert from my bank. Someone was using my account. I texted Joe and informed him that my bank may shut down my account making the check not clear. He was very nice about it. Turned out that the check cleared in time, so all was good.
