Our experience was a mess. Installation of smoke detectors involved a mix of detectors, two of them not lithium ion battery units, which is what we asked for. One was replaced, later that day. Great. The other, another older style with 9v backup battery (which we didn't want but was installed because the tech said it was ""what he had in the truck,"") began to chirp at 8pm that night. I unplugged it, planning to call in the morning to get it replaced. Grudgingly, Myles did that, charging a hefty add-on. As a bonus, his tech had thrown the old detectors into my garbage can, and they began to blare (not chirp) at 3 am awakening my neighbors and their children. We couldn't figure out where the sound was coming from because of the weird, echo, omnidirectional character of the alarm--so it kept blaring away until about 10:30 that morning. In telling Myles about this, I got a real blast of best-defense-is-offense from him--a stream of words that didn't allow for much back and forth. The customer is always wrong.
If you have any other choices for electrical work--use them and not these guys.

Myles has earned our future business. First-time homeowners, the wife and I bought an older ""blank canvas"" home in Napa, which needed just about everything. MD Electric was hired to wire entertainment cables, replace the Zinsco panel, install extra outlets to the exterior of our home as well as prep our fireplace for gas conversion. All things I would blow myself up doing DIY. Myles and his team were very easy to work with, on-time and respectful to our home, and even found and fixed some concerning electrical work that had been done sometime in the past. Our neighbors even commented on how respectful and nice they were.

I just had an unpleasant experience with Myles Davis Electric in Napa. Last year, in September, they repaired a kitchen light fixture for me. A few weeks later, it began to fall off the ceiling. At that time they were nice enough to come back and put it back up. A few days ago, in mid January 2017, it began falling off again. This time they wanted to charge me to repair what should have been repaired in September. We obviously had a difference of opinion on what their repair was supposed to mean. I chose not to work with them

Our home was in desperate need of lighting. We sought out 4 bids before we chose Myles Davis Electric. As everyone knows electrical work is very expensive so you want to make sure it is all done well and to your liking. I am EXTREMLEY fussy about my environment lighting. I explained this to all the people we interviewed but actually the only one that really got it was Myles Davis. Explaining to me the technical aspects of lighting and what I was seeking and why I did not care for certain spectrums of light.
He spent a considerable amount of time talking about how he would light each room in our home .He took great notes and did not forget one single item we discussed.

His bid arrived in two days ( I am still waiting for my fourth bid from another company).
Everything was perfectly detailed including a pool project bid out for time and material.His crew began work the following week and has done an amazing job. They are extremely professional and incredibly hard working. They encountered some serious electrical problems from the previous owner who clearly fancied himself an electrician. These problems were fixed and dealt with without any fuss!!
It was astounding to see the house completely torn apart as they went through each room working on the different projects. At the end of the day you could not even tell anyone had been in our home working. They were IMMACULATE!! Any questions that I asked were answered so patiently, by the crew and Myles (the owner). And of course we added other things(you know the dreaded change order) to the list as we discovered more lighting ideas/needs. We never were made to feel that our request were out of line or excessive or bothersome They were ready and willing to comply. Great attitude!

The gentleman arrived on time and was very professional, but for what I was being charged; it end up making the service at a total package have a downward spiral. He cut my TV box without my permission, he took an EXTREMELY long time to mount the brackets, and he appeared as if he didn't know what he was doing at times. I'll take it in account to the fact that this was not the typical TV bracket, but I explained this to the gentleman on the phone when I was setting up the appointment. I even had to call the company and ask what the problem was, and why was it taking so long. The end results were nice but I wish I had gone with another company. Probably more experienced in this kind of work. This was probably a job for 2 people, b/c I was quoted 1- 1 1/2 hrs, and he ended up taking 3. When a company charges an hourly rate... you would think that they know what they are doing.
