Simply put: John Carlos is the best handyman I've ever had. He is responsive, prompt, reliable, considerate, and skilled. He doesn't just show up for a job. He thoroughly and carefully considers the task at hand before formulating the optimal solution. He is a perfectionist with his craft. With most handymen, I've found I need to be present to make sure they do things right. With John Carlos, I can leave and come back after he's done, knowing the job will be done right. Except that you want to stay and chat with him because he's a pleasure to talk to, obviously with a sharp mind and a warm kindness about him. To call him just an outstanding handyman in fact is to sell him short. He can do layout planning, demolition, painting, electrical work, and even some architectural design. And in view of his high standards and level of expertise, his rates are quite reasonable. Hire him and you may never to hire another handyman again.

John had great communication, which many contractors are not good at. Came on time, removed his shoes, had his mask on, and fixed my clogged dishwasher quickly and efficiently, teaching me about how the air gap and hoses work, and what to look out for. He also very quickly diagnosed and repaired an electrical issue we had with a bathroom light. For the Bay area, his rate seemed reasonable. Highly recommend!

My deck had several deck boards that were broken and it looked worn out due to the previous owner not doing any maintenance. John gave me estimate which was much lower than others I received. He did the work in half a day, much faster than expected. Deck looks great and after planting a few flowers, it's now the favorite place to hang out.

It's a bit unfair to call John a handyman ... he's more of a construction engineer extraordinaire. I do most of my own repairs, but when it's over my pay grade I call John.

He's done several very complex projects, including repairing a dryer duct that broke INSIDE THE WALL, and quieting a complex motor/fan exhaust assembly. On the first of these, he identified the location of the break, then surgically opened up the ceiling underneath, made the repair, then magically patched and painted the area in a matter of hours - something I didn't think was even possible.

Every time he does a project, I learn something. Not to mention his work is absolutely first rate, done professionally and quickly.

John is a one-man repair swat team. Call him in when the project
appears hopeless or lesser people have failed!

I had a few odd jobs to be done in my home including fixing water damage in garage and a stuck closet door. John Carlos came to give me an assessment quickly when I emailed him via yelp. He gave me several money saving tips about lights. He also gave me all the info I needed to buy the new light bulbs. He then proactively contacted me the next week for the work to proceed. When I did not have the parts to fix the closet doors and the light fixture, John quickly made a trip to the local hardware store and got all the necessary items to complete the job the same day. All of the work was completed quickly and efficiently. I am very happy with the work done.

I called John to find a person to help out my mother with fix random things around the home, as I'm not in the area to help. Juan always responds to her requests and solves things with cost, time and effort in mind. If something requires a specialist, John will advise you that it's more cost effective to get three estimates. He'll explain what to share and not share with the techs. This is key for my mom, as people tend to try and sell something new and expensive to seniors, versus a simple repair.

He's become an essential tool for helping me an my mother out around the home and highly recommend him for anything you need around the home.
