This guy was awesome! He was very knowledgeable and nice. He explained things as he was going through them. My problem was a lot more intricate than it needed to be because the person who set it up was not an electrician, and it took Michael a long time to figure out where things were. He as very reasonable in his pricing and worked very hard to get everything done. He even worked on things he didn't have to just to help me out. I definitely recommend him!

We recently completed a kitchen remodel and Mike was our electrician. He was part of the planning process and worked with our contractor daily while we got the plan for the lighting perfected. Mike is very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. He had suggestions for every type of lighting we needed. Mike did some work for us and we decided we wanted undercounted lights in our kitchen. The day that was scheduled for installation, MTE never showed up.
We did get him on the phone and he said the parts were not available to do the job.

First. It's bad business not to communicate to customers that you CAN'T do the work. (He said he did call, but we have no record of a Call)

Second. It's poor planning to wait until the day the work is scheduled to check if the parts are available.

Third. No alternatives were suggested

Fourth. If MTE wanted to do the job it was no way to do business.

Fifth. I can not recommend MTE for electrical work.
The lack of follow through and the fact that WE arranged our day to have the work do is not acceptable.

Understand...if you do hire MTE it's a hit or miss if they will show up!!!!!

then two weeks pass, I call you and you remember me and tell me you got really busy and youd be back in touch with the estimate very soon.

Now its been at least two months and no call back.

We were experiencing an issue with our circuit breaker panel. A fuse eventually blew out so I called upon Mike for his services because of his fantastic Yelp reviews.

Mike's wife was so polite when she answered the phone, she was quick to schedule us in for the same day that we called.

Mike showed up and was very friendly and very thorough with his inspection. He replaced the blown fuse and inspected the rest of the circuit panel to make sure everything was working properly.

Last minute I realized I wanted to replace the flood light by my back door, I already purchased one and it was sitting in my garage. Mike installed it for $15 bucks.

All together with the service call, replacing the blown fuse and installation of the new flood light we were charged $115, not a bad deal at all.

I highly recommend this business for any of your electrical needs!

I recently got an electric vehicle, but I hadn't prepared a charging solution at home. I was limping along charging with my 120V extension cord which only got a stable 108V at 9A (the Romex was probably too thin), only replenishing 2 miles of range per hour. It took 10 hours to replenish a round trip to Costco! I needed some real power in the garage BADLY.

So I called Mike at MTE Electric, and he was able to meet with me a few days later, and he installed last Wednesday. He did a very professional installation in short order. Now I can replenish 29 miles of range per hour instead of 2 (NEMA 14-50 240V 50A, holding a steady 230-236V at 40A).

So why only 4 stars? His ballpark estimate was GREAT, but his final price was exactly 75% higher, not so great. In his defense he did spend a lot of time picking up nonstandard supplies. Overall I still recommend MTE.

Mike is great! Friendly, professional, considerate, fairly priced and thorough! We've had an incredible experience from start to finish. He installed a myriad of canned lights and added lighting to the exterior of our home. I have already recommended him and I will continue to do so. He kept my home as clean as could possibly be expected when dealing with dust and insulation. He patiently remeasured and spent extra time to ensure that he didn't have to patch my drywall. He's a professional, and he recognized it was my home.

""From Great to mediocre service""
""Mike"" came out to check wiring for one of our ceiling fans today. A slight delay in calling back when given a call-back time, but he got the job done. Personable, professional and clean.
Will need a new ceiling fan in another location soon, and we will definitely give him a call!

Update.... After all was said and done, one ceiling fan was repaired and a new ceiling fan was installed and balanced.
Mike really knows his stuff and charges very reasonable prices!
And....he's not a flake like MANY contractors in the area!
He calls back if you leave a message, or he actually answers his phone! Wow! What a concept!!

Update January 2016 - Last 2 times we have called MTE Electric, they set up a date to come out and they never showed! Dropped rating from 5 stars to 3!
