I agree completely with the other customers who left one-star reviews for Isamel. His work was terrible (sloppy and unprofessional, as another customer states as well) -

1. He replaced two light fixtures in my kitchen and they are hanging down from the ceiling, not flush with the ceiling like they are supposed to be. He said he would fix them when he came back to repair the damage in #3, which he never did.

2. He replaced my outdoor light fixture and it was crooked. However, he did fix it when he returned to repair other damage that he had caused (see #4).

3. He upgraded my porcelain sink to a stainless steel sink and, in the process, cracked 5 tiles that he said he would come back and fix. It took me having to hunt him down for two months for him to finally tell me that my particular tiles had been discontinued and I would have to replace my countertops (at my own expense, I figure, because when I told him that he had the obligation to pay for the replacement countertops, he did not text me back).

4. After he replaced the sink, when I used my dishwasher, it flooded underneath the sink and caused tons of water damage. He came a few days later to ""fix it,"" but the same thing happened again and he insisted to me that it was not the result of his work (that the tubes were clogged). He also told me that he would repair the water damage, but his solution was that he would ""paint over it,"" not replace the damaged wood. When I started researching him, I saw that he was on Thumbtack and had several good reviews, but also a few really bad ones (with stories quite similar to mine). When I went to leave him a review on Thumbtack, it would not let me. When I called customer service, they told me that their policy was that I could not leave a review unless I had hired him through the app., which I had not. I went back and forth with them - explaining that I paid him $1500 only to have all this damage done to my home and even sent them 8 pictures of the damage. They still would not let me leave a review. The customer service representative told me that she had just been talking to Ismael about a complaint that they had received about him from another customer. But she also told me that they were going to let him stay on the app!

5. When I hired another repairman to fix my dishwasher, he was appalled by the ""Mickey Mouse"" job (his words) that had been done to connect the dishwasher tubes after the sink installation.

Ismael would only communicate with me if I texted him first, even though he was supposed to be working on finding tiles so that he could replace the ones he cracked. He would never give me updates like a professional should do; I always had to hunt him down for updates. As another customer states, he would say he would come to fix the issues, but then when I gave him my schedule, he would not text me back. If you look at his responses to his customer complaints on Thumbtack, he blames the customers rather than taking responsibility for the issues that he caused himself. He did the same to me, telling me that he was going to fix my dishwasher, but ""unfortunately I went and hired another contractor"" to do it (after I had let him try to fix it and he could not.

Stay away from this scam. He has no clue how to paint. He messed my whole house - covers - carpet. He would skip walls saying it doesn't need the work even though I paid for him to do the work.

The work is horrible - It's disgusting -

I'm taking him to court. It takes thousands of dollars now to fix the problem.

He never used plastic to cover the space - never used tapes for the borders - was cos intently on the phone talking - would paint walls going around the frame of the bed or paint - didn't even remove anything -

When asked to do the job correctly - he got mad and didn't want to do it.

His lack of knowledge and passive aggressive attitude - and also his portrayal of being a painter is illegal and shouldn't be allowed to enter the houses of individuals.

I doubt this man has a legal certification for painting -

Shame on you thumbtack for accepting these individual in your platform

I am amazed couldnt be any happier ismael was very respectful responsive productive affordable fair price and well mannered kept me up to update thorough out the whole project had him remodel my restroom demoed it all installed drywal, paint, flooring, brand new toilet , including my new vanity also fixing my plumbing leak that I had for months eliminating water damage mold as well. thank you so much ismael I definitely will have you start on my next project I have coming up appreciate your time see you soon Ismael, phenomenal immaculate work.

DO NOT HIRE Ismael. Yes, he appears to be a nice guy, however, he does not deliver on his word or the job. He did a very sloppy, unprofessional paint job on the trim of my home. The WORST trim job I've ever seen. He did not fill the wood, he didn't even completely paint different areas, unfortunately, when he said the job was finished it look good at dusk. The next day I saw the mess he created, even my neighbor across the street commented on the areas she could see that was partially painted. He never returned after stating that he would, he kept making excuses and then stop taking my calls. I am pursuing him in small claims court and if not there I will place a lien on his company. Hire at your own risk!! Shady, and untruthful Mr. Maintenance!!

I called this company for landscaping and general handyman job. He came and looked around and gave me estimates. When i moved forward with the job his price changed and he failed to provide the service he promised. My toilet pipe was broken he supposedly fixed the issue, 2 weeks later I had a water leak which lead to messing up the tiles in the bathroom and creating mold inside the wall. I had to call a licensed contractor to fix his mess. My recommendation is to ask questions making sure he knows what he is doing before committing to a job.
I wonder if his reviews are real.

Maintenance guy was super friendly and gave a reasonable quote on my bathroom leak. He fixed the leak, repaired the drywall and even did the flooring. Very good job will call again...
