Having spent over two decades in the corporate arena, I grew disillusioned with the politics and their effects on individuals, myself included. If you treat others with dignity, take pride in your work, and deliver quality service, life is easier and significantly more rewarding. Sixty-five percent of my residential work is generated through recommendations from existing clients who refer Mr. Fix-It™ to their friends or colleagues. My clients experience immediate satisfaction upon completion of the job, and I no longer deal with lengthy return on investments or large capital expenditures. No payment for labor is required until the customer is pleased with the results.

For about 25 years, Mr. Fix-It™ has been in the business of fixing things. I created decks, patios, and similar structures for friends and their networks, often being paid in various manners. Most times, I was paid with tools; on one occasion, I was given a video camera for constructing a deck. The work was typically done on weekends or after I returned from my ""real"" job. Thirteen years ago, after I received a reciprocating saw for constructing a deck at a friend's home, my wife grabbed me and said, ""Listen, Mr. Fix-It, your next free job is to build a patio cover for me, and your prices will be changing."" Thus, Mr. Fix-It™ was established.
