After 22 years in the corporate landscape, I grew frustrated with the politics and their influence on people's lives, including mine. If you treat others with dignity, take pride in your work, and deliver quality service, life is easier and significantly more rewarding. A significant portion, 65%, of my residential business stems from referrals by happy customers who suggest Mr. Fix-It™ to their friends and associates. My customers receive quick satisfaction once the work is finished, and I no longer contend with extended ROI or hefty capital expenses. No payment for labor is required until the customer is pleased with the results.

For about 25 years, Mr. Fix-It™ has been in the business of fixing things. I constructed decks, patios, and similar projects for friends and their acquaintances, often receiving payment in various forms. I frequently received tools as payment; once, I was even given a video camera for building a deck. The work was typically done on weekends or after I returned from my ""real"" job. About 13 years ago, after getting a reciprocating saw for building a deck at a friend's house, my wife pulled me aside and said, ""Listen up, Mr. Fix-It, your next free job is building a patio cover for me, and your rates are going to change."" Thus, Mr. Fix-It™ was established.
