We live in Santa Clara. Jesse and Carlos installed an Zline 85 pound range hood in my kitchen. The guys arrived on time, and worked solidly to completion. The job site was left clean.
Jesse took my concerns seriously, and made sure I was comfortable with his solutions. We feel both of them are good workers, Jesse is great professional worker. A very important point: The installation cost is lower than other quotes.

Did an amazing panel upgrade. They had personal and kind service that felt very much appreciated

Sam from Mr Electric was fantastic. We're really impressed with his technical skill level, excellent communication skills, and ability to handle technical hurdles that inevitably come up. He is also very creative and proactive with his solutions.
He installed a chandelier for us, which is very heavy. He climbed up into the attic to add a 2x4 for support. He shopped for all hardware necessary that was not included, including a very nice hook in the ceiling. It really looks fantastic.
He fixed a very old doorbell that has two hanging metal tubes of different lengths with an old electric 'clanger' at the top. He purchased a new chimb set and extracted just the 'clanger' from it and integrated it with the old tubes to make the doorbell sound like it always has. Super creative way to get it working. We love it!
He replaced our old carport light with a new one that can be activated by motion or have the capability to be permanently on using a switch in the carport closet. That same switch has a slider to allow for dimming (I requested a dimmable light). When switched to permanently on, the on/off switch for that is on the exterior wall of the carport (outside the closet). He had to allow for the motion detector not getting 'dimmed' along with the light which took some creative and expert electrical know-how. We are very happy with it and impressed that he made all that happen.

Sam Van Nuland was the electrician from Mr Electric and he was
excellent. He installed a fan in our bedroom--and while doing that discovered an issue with some wiring in our attic so he fixed that too.
He also did the wiring for a new garbage disposal in the kitchen.
He came on time, worked efficiently and did an excellent job. I highly
recommend him!

Tahir and his team recently helped us upgrading our electrical panel and installing level 2 charging station. We were really happy with the service. The work got done as promised at a reasonable price. It has been three months since the work got completed. Everything still works great. We greatly appreciate Tahir's effort in assisting us to complete the reimbursement packet for the charging station. We will definitely recommend Mr. Electric of Palo Alto to our friends.

These guys always amaze me. They get the nagging things done. I had them debug and fix two different GFCI circuits which were not working anymore. They figured out the issue and fixed both problems. Also had them hang a new fan and a chandelier. Both were done well. Felt the cost was high for fan and chandelier hanging.

Pretty disappointed to have to update this, especially given the great service we had initially with Mr Electric (Tahir).
Tahir and team did a great job helping us with the streetlight update that the Town of LG required, but when we had his team back to help with a GFCI that was constantly tripping, things went downhill. One of the electricians on the team, Brian (no longer with Mr Electric), had to come back 2x and even replaced the GFCI.
After 6 months of the GFCI continuing to trip almost daily, I called Tahir back to have his team make good on the warranty of the work. They sent out Juan this time, who replaced the GFCI again, citing the prior one was ""old and needing to be replaced"" which was surprising given it was replaced by the Mr Electric team! He then started poking around an outlet on the other side of the GFCI (inside the house) as well as the breaker panel.
He let me know things were fixed, and if we have issues again to call, but everything looks fine in the panel, so no wiring issues. After he left, I realized the lights in the bathroom and hallway won't turn on, so I called Tahir to see if they could come back and fix it. Nope, they ""didn't touch anything in the panel"" so this is a different issue, which would be a separate service call.
I saw that two of the labels on the panel were marked out with a sharpie (I hadn't done that), so I took the panel off, and noticed the wires going into certain breakers were no longer present, and I have no idea where they put them. Tahir remains adamant that they didn't do anything in the panel, so I guess the wires just disappeared, and I'll have to hire another electrician to find them.
2 stars because they were helpful initially, and were backing the warranty on the work they did.

We had a problem with our breaker repeatedly tripping.
I happy to share that the problem has been resolved and everything is working fine now.

Reliable, reasonable, dependable and professional. I used Mr. Electric of Palo Alto to install a generator for my home. This summer I will be ready for rolling black outs & PE&E Public Safety Power Shutoffs (heavy winds during fire season) thanks to Mr. Electric. They will now be my go to home electricians for all my needs. It was a pleasure working with Tahir and Brian!

I had Palo Alto Electric show up to install one NEMA 14-30. I was really clear over the phone about what was required and what I wanted. They showed up and I showed them what was needed and where everything was. I had the plug, the breaker and just need 100ft 10/3 wire to be run from the breaker box to the garage about 70 ft of wire total through the attic and down the back wall. So they quoted me a flat rate of $660 on an iPad and I'm like great let's do it.
I assumed they would start the work that day but the young man and his associate said they wanted to schedule a different time. I ask what was stopping them from doing it now, 2:30 pm on a Tuesday. He said they need to do a Home Depot run to get the wire. I sad if that's all could you do it right now, Home Depot is 10 minutes from my house.
He agreed and I let them start work. 4:30 pm rolled around and they said they had to leave. That they would have to come back another time. At this point, my walls had large holes.
I asked if they could come back tomorrow at 8 am and he said maybe, let me ask dispatch. He walked outside and made a phone call. Came back and said the best they could promise was next Wednesday, more than a week out! Why would you start a job stop halfway through and wait a week to finish! It makes zero logical sense and creates what I'd call the terrible customer experience.
I told them that was not acceptable and to call me in the morning to let me know if they could make time tomorrow. Otherwise, I'll hire someone else to finish the job. I didn't want to wait a week with a hole in my office walls, which seems like a reasonable request.
The next day I heard nothing and had my normal day of zoom meetings, COVID-19 life. After my last meeting at noon, I called them and asked if they had planned to come back and finish the job. The nice women on dispatch said maybe Friday. I was like no I'll hire someone else and we will just forget this ever happened. She said I'll call the worker (Evan) right now and see. I told her at this point I can just get someone else to come to finish it.
I called two other electricians and one agreed to show up after his last job and wire the circuit they didn't finish. I then get a call from the owner Tahir who proceeds to be abrasive and aggressive. Not empathetic that his workers left holes in my wall and failed to communicate that they need two days and where overbooked to complete a simple outlet install! Being verbally assaulted by the owner and called a terrible person and how do I treat people that way and shut up and listen. At this point, I really didn't want to have them show up at all. I told him the deal was off and I'll hire someone else. He said his worker lost his wallet in my attic and I'll send them over right now to finish the job. He said it in a way that didn't sound like a choice, I said if they show up and complete the job today I'll call it good.
When they show up I open the door the worker tried walking right in with his drill in hand. He didn't acknowledge me or ask me to come inside the house. Not there is a pandemic and we are required to wear masks and practice social distancing or anything, let alone workers in your house. I said I didn't want to work with them anymore they did a terrible job communicating. They asked if they could make it right as they are already drove here and have all the supplies now. I felt bad for these guys, they are just trying to make a living, and while they can learn to communicate better the did drive all the way here. I agreed to let them finish the job and texted the other electrician that they came back and he's off the hook.
That leads me to the quality of the work. I don't expect electricians to do drywall but they did a really bad job of cutting and cleaning up after themselves. They took forever and in my electrical engineering opinion did a terrible job. I'll add photos of what they completed to have you judge for yourself.
I will not be using Mr. Electrician in the future which is a shame because I'm starting an EV charging company that makes it easy for multi-unit properties to offer EV charging. I have 15 electricians on my list in the Bay Area already who I've used or plan to use as our company grows its partner network. But this experience with Mr. Electric Palo Alto, a four-person company based in Milpitas left me upset and won't be on that list. The owner himself is the main reason I'm writing this review. His behavior on the phone is just unacceptable and I hope people read this review and choose another Electricain. The two reviews they have seem to be the exact opposite experience so I hope this is just an anomaly.
