I needed to update my very old breaker box in my condo in Boca Raton the winter of 2020. Mr. Electric seemed to have decent review and ratings (guess I didn't dig deep enough) so I booked the job with them. At the time, I also wanted to install a surge protector in the new box. When the job was done, it turns out the surge protector was never installed, even though it was on my invoice. I brought this to the attention of the owner/manager, Larry, hoping they would come back and finish the job . He indicated, however, that the electrician who did the work had been giving him problems and had to be let go, and, he was ""too short handed"" to spare anyone else to come back and finish the job; he did however credit me back the cost of the never installed surge protector. I was rather frustrated that he couldn't send someone to finish the job, and then COVID hit, and I was not able use the condo again until 2021. Being a loyal customer, and giving them the benefit of the doubt, I reached out to them again to finally finish the job, but calls were never returned, and finally, I gave up and opted to have Boca Electric install the surge protector. When they came to do that, they quickly saw that I had a much bigger problem, as not only was the surge protector never installed (not news), but also that the entire new breaker box was not installed correctly, and not according to code. They showed me the various mistakes, and even as a layperson, I could easily see the many problems. Failure to install as per code put my family in potential danger for many months and meant I would have failed any inspections done on my condo. I called Mr. Electric literally half a dozen or more times, and left respectful, but detailed messages, as to what was going on, and asked that he call me back. His staff was pleasant and understanding of my concerns and frustrations, and promised to give him my message, which is all well and good, but Larry never called back to discuss the lousy job his man did, and what could be done to make things right. I had Boca Electric reinstall to box properly, and cannot recommend them highly enough. I am out about $1000 for the crappy job Mr. Electric did, too small of a number to seriously consider legal action, but a large enough number nevertheless to be very aggravating. Larry's failure to return my calls was unethical, cowardly, cheap and irresponsible. No one should ever use this company for electrical work. Stay away.

Mr. Electric of Boca Raton is the absolute worst! Twice I have called to make appointments for some electrical work. Both times I was given a 3 hour window which was fine, but both times their technician did not show up. I called their dispatch explained that their person had not shown up and the ladies were very nice, telling me they would call dispatch right away and have someone call me back with a new arrival time. I never got a call, so I called back again and again was told someone would get back with me. I never got a call back.
Honestly I don't know how these people stay in business. Don't waste your time with Mr. Electric!

I had a very pleasant, easy and very professional experience with Mr electric. Setting up appointment was simple. Estimate was more than reasonable. Came out to do the work just a few days later. The work was done well and left my home as clean as it was when they got here. I will use them again and would recommend to family and friends.

Doesn't even deserve 1 star. Still waiting for Larry to call me back or refund my money. He took 1/2 of a deposit ($1500) back in March and never performed the work. Blamed COVID but Mr. Electric Applied for the Permit in June and then never followed thru. Have contacted him many times and kept promising the work would be done and now no return phone call.
Do not understand why he is not refunding my money for a job that he could not complete. Now I have to continue to follow up every day and seek legal action. Totally disappointing. So selfish to think he needs to take money from innocent customer.

I have never worked with such an unprofessional company in my life. I've set 3 appointments with them to come into my shop and fix an outlet and they no call no showed for all of them. The worst part is that they confirmed with me for every appointment a day prior. This company is a joke and lack any type of professionalism. Save yourself some time and work with another company

I was watching an episode of undercover boss and it inspired me to contact Mr. Electric to hang some lights in my house and to replace some fixtures. Mr. Electric sent a guy named Joe Chilelli to my house so that he could look around and provide me with an estimate. Joe showed up my house and, after the visit, furnished me with an estimate. The estimate was quite high so I asked for them to provide me a revised estimate, with an itemization as to how the $3310 estimate was arrived at. I told him that there was no way I was going to pay that kind of money and then I would night need an itemized estimate so that I could decide what I wanted them to do and what I did not want them to do. Getting the estimate revised iwas like pulling teeth. But I ultimately got it, identified only $1100 worth of work that I wanted done, and tried to make arrangements for Joe to come back out to perform the work. Long story short, all of my efforts were completely futile and unsuccessful. I ultimately got a hold of the owner of the company, Larry Precipuo, who told me that he had Joe charged and even arrested with stealing company property and Joe would not be out to my house to complete the work. I was very glad to hear that - not that I had a criminal sent to perform work in my house by their company but that the criminal would not be returning to my house again in the future.I then had several interesting exchanges with Larry and several interesting phone calls where I learned a lot more about his disappointing employment relationship with Joe than I needed to know. In any event, after what I felt like was a significant display of patience on my part, I continued with my efforts to have somebody out to my house to perform the work.
Long story short, even though Larry promised to make my requests/home a priority, nobody ever came. Ultimately, after I continued to send emails approximately twice a week asking what the heck is going on and whether or not anybody was going to perform the work at my home, Larry stopped responding to my emails and started ignoring me completely. It was at that point that I told Larry not to bother responding to me at any point in the future and that I would instead vent on Yelp. And here we are...

this is the worse company i ever dealt with. i gave them a deposit and contracted with them 2/26/2020 over 3 months ago to upgrade my electrical service. they cashed the check and i never heard from them again the owner larry refuses to call back after several calls and messages. first they have the worker joe call me back and tell me my papers were lost then he now told me they were found and being processed. he assured me he was going to take care of the processing of the condo application on 5/27/2020 and call me back. no call from either joe or larry today as promised with repeated inquiries. i am sorry that i hired this company. very unreliable and unprofessional. this is the absolute worse experience i have had with a florida contractor. i will be filing a complaint with the franchise owners of mr. electric and the bbb if they are even a member . the absolute worse!!!!!

I made an appointment to get an estimate and was scheduled for today between 2-5pm. I called about 3:20 and the lady told me I'm still scheduled and she will have them call if they're running late to give me an eta. Nobody ever called. I then called back about 5:30 to ask if the tech was still coming. Another lady said she would have the tech call me with an eta. Nothing. Now in all fairness, I scheduled with them 3 times prior and had to cancel. At least I had the decency and courtesy to call. I took off work to be here. Very unprofessional and UNACCEPTABLE from a company. I just read another review and it seems they've done others like this. Unreliable company who has no consideration for customers time.

We had a terrific experience with Mr Electric in Boca Raton. The electrician came out very quickly to install a chandelier in our high vaulted ceiling. He needed to move the electric box and secure it in place. The chandelier had about 50 pieces that he needed to put together, then he had to hang the ridiculously heavy thing to our exact specifications over the dining table. Last minute we decided it was too bright and he added a dimmer with no complaint. He even did a great job cleaning up after he was done. Fast, courteous, safe, efficient, and professional. I will definitely use them again.
