My experience in the electrical field dates back to 1996. From 2006 to 2010, I served as a Service Professional and Manager at Mr. Electric. In March 2010, we acquired the Baton Rouge branch, followed by the Lafayette branch in May 2010. Update as of 5/10/24:
I used their services again in Feb 2024 because half of the power went out in my house. A different Mr. Electric technician came and diagnosed the issue as one of the ""legs"" not working. The entire right side of my breaker wasn't working due to the error. The technician advised me to reach out to my electricity service provider, so I did and they were able to correct the outage issue. I was provided a handwritten note on the back of a scrap of paper from Mr Electric's technician detailing the reason for the outage (one ""leg"" not working) and an official invoice that just said ""diagnostics"". No other distinguishable information was listed on the official invoice.
I needed a specific official document detailing what service was done and what was diagnosed so that I could seek reimbursement from my electrical provider. When I called Mr Electric to inquire about additional documentation, I was told that there was none. Also, the technician that came in Feb 2024, no longer worked for the company. A male got on the phone and informed me that the technician was separated due his poor performance and did not leave on good terms. I was then given the former employee's personal cell phone number to reach out to him directly to get the information that I needed. I asked why would I reach out to him, if he no longer worked for the company. I need an official document stating what was diagnosed. Common sense should tell you that he couldn't provide that because he doesn't work for the company anymore! I was being told just anything to get off the phone.
This is unacceptable and disappointing. Mr. Electric is way too expensive to have such poor documentation. Also, releasing an employee's reason of separation and personal information is a huge HR ""no no"". Very unprofessional and could lead to lawsuits. I will not be using their services again.

I had a small electrical fire in my attic after 5 pm on Tuesday. Mr electric was the only business that had an actual live person answering the phone after hours. Thomas was sent to my home and he did great. He was very detailed and helpful.
I am thankful for Thomas and his team!

Went with this Company because their motto was they're always on time. Had an appointment between one and 3 PM and no one called, no one showed. When I contacted the company they said the electrician was no longer available to come out for the job that day. This is no way to do business.

A bit expensive but they are reliable and responsive. After all do you really want the cheapest electrician working on your house?

We had a issue with a outlet outside and Will showed up and fixed our problem with ease! He helped us figure out a game plan for the interior of the house with some ongoing issues we have. We cannot recommend Will and Mr.Electric enough!

Well it was a recent Saturday morning an my power was out in half the house . Thinking I had an electrical issue ....Hit the ole Google an found Mr Electric . They got some one out pretty quickly just to look at my problem for 5 minutes an says it was a DEMCO issue an proceeded to charge me full price for the visit 225.00 . Even the tech felt bad but the company insists that's the cost . So the company called w a follow up phone call today , as I explain the issues I may had an that I felt it was un American to charge that amount for 5 minutes . An they did absolutely nothing to earn the money . Her response was ""well lesson learned "". My jaw hit the floor .... so my recommendation is call any one else but these a s s's

I'm giving a review based on a few things, but not completed service. 4 stars because the company scheduling system was courteous and attentive; they kept me up to date on the arrival, etc. 4 stars because the electrician was polite and professional. He let me know, step by step, Mr. Electric protocol. After the free assessment was completed, the price was higher than one would expect to install a fan, therefore I had to decline completion of the work. I imagine his work would have been impeccable had I elected to pay the quoted price.

Brandon was my technician and came out earlier, at my request. He was SUPER professional, personable, clean, neat, worked quickly and efficiently and did a GREAT job. I wish I could give him 10 stars! This is the second technician I have used for different things from Mr. Electric Baton Rouge. I have always been satisfied. I will request Brandon again for my next electrical project.
