These guys are apparently all about the sale, not the service. I also work in the trades, and think that most do not get paid enough, so I wanted to give them a fair chance when the price seemed a bit high. Lesson learned.
They have a spiel they use for every call, and the intent is to upsell you. If the call is not worth the money, then don't take the job.
The owner/operator is apparently a real estate agent or former agent, if that helps clarify the shady practices.

Mr Electric came to our house to fix an outlet to our hot water heater and some other loose outlets. the technician spent two hours at our house and did not repair anything. Instead he spent a long time focusing on our breaker box. After spending at least a half hour with the master electrician, he provided us a bid of 15 K to replace the breaker box and fix other issues. If we signed a plan, it would be 13 K. I contacted another electrician who fixed the entire problem for 800 dollars. Don't go there! I'm not sure the technician who visited our house was even an electrician.

First thing the guy did when he came out is try to upsell me a surge protector for the outside of my house for $400. When I declined this offer he seemed visibly upset. Finally, he did what I called him out to do which is install a replacement bathroom exhaust fan I bought. He did this, but there was a loud rattling sound. When I asked why it was rattling he said that there were other parts that needed installation and that I should have gone through them for those parts. He didn't mention this to me before installing it. He left it rattling and charged me 250 which I paid. A few weeks later, the rattling fan just stopped working altogether. Now I have to get the job completely redone.

We had breakers tripping and needed an electrician. We called, they were here in a matter of a few hours. James Sanchez was our electrician. I thought the price was extremely high but did a great job with everything working perfectly.

Of the five or so companies that I reached out to for extending an existing circuit and running a new high voltage line, Mr Electric was the only company to come on-site to give an accurate quote and answer all of my questions. Other companies relied on my sending several photos from different angles and making assumptions about the layout of my home and the scope of the project. Mr Electric uses an iPad app with standardized charges so there is no ambiguity in any of the services you're getting and in the invoice you're receiving. Communication was superb with updates via text, phone, and email -- I really appreciated that. Mr Electric came in at a slightly higher price point but Aaron and Travis spent an entire day with me, explained everything they were doing, asked for preferences in placements of fixtures/switches/outlets, and exceeded my expectations. It was money well spent and I will use Mr Electric's services the next time I need some help with my next project!

Donny was so helpful! He was transparent about the services my unit needed and even called my landlords and walked them through his assessment of the problem. Utility issues can be very frustrating and he made the experience as pleasant as possible. Thank you!

John Kesl was very good, very knowledgeable and very determined. We had an issue that took hours of trouble shooting and he would not stop until the problem was located. After the the problem was located the next day he and Chris was on location promptly and fixed our issue creating a feeling of safety that My wife and I needed.
Thank you guys.

Horrible service. The technician showed up within the window of time provided, he demonstrated professionalism when he arrived by introducing himself and letting me know what he was going to do. Right after my first question his attitude change for the worse. He was very rude, and pretended not to understand simple questions. After my husband talk to him over the phone and addressed his rude behavior, he changed his tone of voice and even acted nice.
The worse part is that he wanted to charge $550.00 to fix a stove top, where I can get a new one for $600.00. So I just paid the service fee of $97.00 to be treated disrespectfully, having someone bring their germs in my house, and not fixing my appliances.
I would say ""DO NOT HIRE""

We had an electrical issue, James Sanchez of Mr. Electric showed up quickly and very efficiently sorted out our issue, came back with replacement parts and changed out our equipment. Icy roads would have prevented him from getting the exact replacement, so he upgraded us. Couldn't be more pleased

Not transparent about their fees, terrible appointment window, canceled on me last minute, next available appointment was 7 days after my original appointment.

This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a service. Some of my outlets in the apartment have gone out and I needed a quick repair. I called in for an a quote, the man on the phone scheduled me in for the day after next. That was great and easy. A few hours later a lady calls me just to inform me that there's a $180 or so diagnostic fee. I thought this was strange and asked where this fee came up. The man before didn't mention a fee and now you're calling me just to tell me about a fee. Despite this, I continued forward with the scheduled appointment. A few hours later I get an email confirmation with the biggest service window I've ever seen - despite asking for a specific time. The service window they provided was 12-5pm. On the afternoon of the actual visit, after my tenant and I wait hours into their scheduled ""window"", I get a call from the same lady telling me they have an ""emergency"" and can't make it today. Their next availability was next tuesday, exactly 7 days from my original scheduled appointment. She offered a weak apology and $25 off, and when I said I wanted to think about it she said ""so do you want to cancel your appointment"", to which I had to reply ""no, you canceled on our appointment for today, and yes I need to think about rescheduling"".
