Thank you Allen Love with Mr. Electric Of Augusta for fixing my service mast today. With next day service, He was fast, efficient, and very professional. After 14 days of no power from Hurricane Helene, there's light at the end of the tunnel!!
I was shocked(excuse the pun) about the final cost as the tech was there less than an hour. He pulled the cover off of the circuit breakers to check wiring but lost two of the screws when putting it back on. I didn't notice until he left. He replaced the light switch in a bedroom but could not find out the answer to original issue of why I called.
ultimately he said I should contact electric company. $300 for visit. I'm not sure how people can afford keeping a house up to speed.
From my initial call being answered by Ella until Andrew fixed my electrical issues and left for his next job I cannot fully explain how professional, concerned, expedient, and helpful they were.
Ella is an outstanding customer service representative who seems to thoroughly enjoy helping those who are in need of help. She is most definitely a great asset to her employer.
Andrew arrived, after my call, quite promptly, introduced himself, inquired about my problems, analyzed the situation, and fixed the problem. He sincerely thanked me for my military service in Vietnam, and wished me a Happy Father's Day.
He too is an excellent representative for his employer.
Wish I was able to leave a higher rating, but five is the maximum number allowed.
Hope you find my review helpful in selecting a company to do your electrical work.
I had an appointment for 11am. Around 11:30 my husband attempted to call the office to get an ETA. My husband attempted several times to call from his cell phone and it kept going to voice-mail (the appointment is associated with his number) I decided to call from my cell and thier was an immediate answer. They told me they left a message saying they would be a little late on my husband's cell. I'm assuming the message went to my husband's office ( he fowards his cell during the day) and took them at thier word that some should be arriving shortly. 30 more minutes pass (at this point we are an hour over the scheduled arrival) I attempted to call the office back with my personal cell as I did before and it went straight to voice-mail. After several failed attempts I decided to call using my work cell and someone picked up immediately (fool me once). I expressed very kindly that while I know delays happen that they should at least be courteous enough to call the customer and keep them closely informed of continous delays so that they decide if they should continue waiting or go back to work and reschedule (my situation). She agreed but offered no reason why I was not kept closely informed. She said she attempted to call the driver who she claimed was on the way to the property but he did not respond. She said she keep trying and would call me back with an ETA.....30 minutes later......still no call back. Damn near two hours waisted. They finally did call back but at this point i was done. Needless to say I will not used the!
Not a good way to do business. Needless to say, I will not be using them. Not a.good way to do business.
I have hired them several times, and I have been very pleased. Recently I requested a quote for a very simple, job, and they sent me a quote for roughly four times higher than anyone else without sending anyone to evaluate the job.. Very unprofessional.
I had a awful experience with Mr. Electric. I hired them to hook up the wiring for my hot tub back in January. I went through 2 days of waiting around for hours being told my techs were ""on the way"" several times. They knew about the job over a week in advance and still did not bring the parts they needed so the one day job turned into two awful days. Communication was horrible, they were late several times (by HOURS) and would leave for hours at a time in the middle of the project. They dug a massive mud pit in the rain in the yard and destroyed my lawn- tracking the mud in massive trails through the front yard and side yards to the back. I was left with:
1- A MASSIVE mud pit.
2- Open dry wall and exposed wires all the way to the ceiling in the garage that my husband had to fix himself!
3- The cables up in the attic space were just ran along the ground and through the Christmas decorations. (I don't even know what to say about this)
4- Trails of mud that go from the hot tub mud pit to the garage and to the van (looks like elephants were traveling around)
5- My garage was FULL of red mud and water.
6- Drywall shavings and wood shavings all over my floor and items surrounding it
7- Mud on a bed that was in the garage and light switches into the house and door
8- Mud all over our personal step ladder
9- A lawn that is completely destroyed from the dig and them walking in it all day.
After speaking with the owner over the next few MONTHS I finally received a check for a very small portion of what I was over charged. Trying to work out these issues with the owner was like pulling teeth. My check was ""on the way"" for many weeks. Communication with him was just as frustrating as although he would answer my emails - he would come up with a solution only for me to have to follow up several times to see why I had not received a partial refund as discussed.
I discourage anyone from using this company. It was a major disappointment.
I do not recommend hiring Mr. electric at Augusta.
On Monday I made an appointment for Friday at 2 PM.
At approximately 1:30pm, received a message that they were running behind.
At 5:30 PM I called and spoke with the answering service complaining that I had not heard again from Mr. electric.
At 6:30 PM my wife called with the same report.
At 7:05 PM received a message from Mr. John Hales, the owner. It's simply said ""We had a technician arrive at your home between 2:25/2:35pm. After knocking on the door he left our card in the door. We will be happy to reschedule service.""
That report was incorrect. They were multiple people home between the hours of 2 and 3 PM only 5 feet from the door. There was no knock, there was no note left.
It begs the question, why didn't they simply call? It begs the question why did they wait to respond by email five hours after the appointment?
I will stop short of calling Mr. John Hales a liar.
Perhaps he knocked on the wrong door. Perhaps his associate reported incorrectly to him. Perhaps some other reason. But the circumstances above are suspect.
The email he sent 5 hours after the appointment was terse, accusatory, unapologetic, and unprofessional. It reeks of insincerity. What any professional organization would've done is call to verify they had they had the correct information. There was no attempt to do so. He did not respond to any phone calls though, though he had a message from both my wife and I.
If anybody wants to reach out to me and ask me additional questions about this matter, I'd be happy to provide them with additional input.
My recommendation... Do not go with Mr. Electric of Augusta. There are numerous other providers of electrical companies in the area such as BZ Electric, Ferrell Electric, Rob Zapata Electrical.
This post is repeated on numerous local Facebook neighborhoodspages and Nextdoor
Took the necessary Covid precautions for my renters. Fast and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure doing business with Mr. Jarred and Matt
We have used Mr. Electric several times and have always been very pleased. We were having problems with the circuit breaker to our koi pond tripping. We called Mr. Electric and JC came out and fixed the problem right away. He was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. If we ever need electrical service in the future, we will definitely use Mr. Electric.
They responded quickly, showed up on time, and were extremely polite. They worked on ensuring I got the best price for the service including a military discount. I would 100% recommend them.
