Joe and Ryan did a great job at our restaurant. We had multiple small jobs. Joe and Ryan charged a $257 fee to diagnose the problems and even made recommendations for the electrician for main building power. They gave me their estimate for all the jobs on the spot and cleared their evening to come back and complete the list. They even helped a woman who was stranded in the parking lot with car troubles. Mahalo Mr. Electric!

First of all, this company don't deserve any stars at all. I called them to get an estimate to install a chandelier. They came to the house and gave me a quote of $620. Before I agreed to the price I asked them if they will be responsible if they damage my wall or ceiling during the installation and the answer was NO. Then, I told them that I have to talk to my husband first and call them back if we decide to do the installation. Then Joe, the owner ask me for the$70 service charge, I ask him what service charge? I was not told that there is a service charge for them to come and give an estimate. When they called me I was told that they will come to the house to give an estimate but never mentioned anything about a service charge. Then he really got upset and called his wife on the phone and ask her if she did tell me about the service charge, the wife got defensive and said that she explained to me about the charge. While we were on the speaker phone I told her that she did not mention anything about a service charge.

He made a remark when he was walking out of my house "" THANK YOU FOR WAISTING MY TIME"". I told him that he is very rude and very unprofessional.

If I could rate this company with zero stars, I would. Joe, the owner, has no personality, does't greet you with a ""Hello"" after you greet him, makes sassy remarks, and has an attitude.
Joe would also interrupt you as you spoke. Very rude. Nothing positive about the owner and prices and I'm sure that will show in his work as well.

I agree, wish that I could give this guy negative stars. $70 charge to show up. $275 to install a simple light fixture. $55 to change a light switch. Wanted to add another $50 to show me the socket I could use to plug in a standup lamp. Avoid like the plague. Will be calling the BBB as well.

If I could give negative stars I would. I wished I checked out the ratings on yelp before hand, but got a recommendation from another company. Not only was I not told about the $70 ""service call"" charge that Joe collected and became defensive about when I told him no one told me about this service charge and got his wife on the phone, but he forgot to add an additional item to the quote jumping it from $1000 to $1700 all of a sudden. I really question the integrity of this husband and wife duo.

A total rip-off. $72 to show up and over $450 estimated to replace a single bad dimmer (30 minutes max).. I told ""Joe"" to get out of my house. I called another electrician (KM Electric) who found a loose wire and fixed the problem in under 10 minutes! My tenant reported that Joe entered the apartment and was all about scoping out the place -- looking out the window at the beach, etc. before getting busy. He initially wanted to have the building shut off circuit breakers controlling multiple units and all sorts of other BS. I said, ""no, replace the dimmer."" He called back to give me the $450+ quote after estimating the ""work."" I think all he estimated was how much he could charge an out-of-town landlord with a nice home. I reported them to BBB.

I got a estimate to install 6 smoke detectors ,Joe gave me a quote of $964.71 , I got another electrician to do the job for $150.00 , I guess Joe makes his money on his service call charge, because his prices are a rip off

After telling my friends and relatives about what happened with Mr. Electric, they didn't find it as amusing as I made it out to be. They told me I had been completely ripped off and that I should take matters seriously. So after going through everything that happened with Mr. Electric, I have now made a formal complaint with the BBB in Hawaii and am currently writing up my report to submit to the Consumer Council. I was seriously ripped off and the way Mr. Electric conducted his business was not professional at all. Its sad that the others who felt he did a great job do not even realized they were ripped off.

After no less than FIVE flakey so called 'electricians' on Oahu I was done.

Tired of wanna be 'da kine' dudes on craigslist trying to get their own gig going on the side work and NEVER following up... I mean I seriously called 5 different companies and individuals from the yellow pages to yelp and craigslist over the course of 2 weeks and never was able to get someone to do a simple install of a 220 v outlet in my garage...

Finally I called these guys... I was a little hesitant because they didn't have much cred on yelp, but after five failures I was ready to try anything. I just wanted my danged outlet installed... (I was reminded, by the way, of the Internet Meme of the guy from New York complaining about rent fixing... ""The number of flakey electricians in this town is just too damn high!"") so I call them and they arrange to have Forrest (as in Gump- and he was good like Gump) stop by...

After looking at my job and the requirements he meticulously pieced together a spec sheet with prices on the spot...

I thought to myself that is a little on the high side (it was about 3 times what most of the flakes had told me it would cost) but then his close was absolutely music to my ears... 'If you want I can do it today.' Really?? SOLD. After a week of dealing with flakes I probably would have paid 4 times... But the fact that he was efficient, well spoken, and gave me an up front realistic price with no surprises, AND was available to do the work that day... I jumped on it faster than a portagee on a spam masubi sale at Don Quixote.

If you want an electrical job done and you don't want to deal with flakes, call these guys and ask for Forrest- he's fast, he's thorough and he's professional.

Thanks Forrest, nice job.

Need to be really careful when using them. They're very nice on the phone, but they could be more akamai about warning potential clients about their really high pricing. I called them to fix one outlet, and they told me about the $70 minimum, but nothing about charging an additional $300 to replace the one outlet. They also came a day later than when they said they would come.
