I have been shopping around for a year getting estimates from a variety of sources. I finally signed up with Sunrun (via Costco). Their pricing was good and you get a lot of freebies. After signing with Sunrun, I received one more bid and thank God I did. I called Moonlight Electric and spoke to Ziva. We quickly had a meeting and found out much more details about solar energy. Sunrun was giving me bigger panels (30) and panels made from China (no offense, I'm Chinese, but I rather buy American parts). Also their inverter was not as good. Moonlight gave me American made panels that were more powerful so I only needed 28 panels (less weight on the roof). Also the inverter was better... but what really sold it, was the optimizers. The optimizers will evaluate and monitor each individual panel; that is something Sunrun did not offer. So if a panel goes wrong with Sunrun, you would not know which panel went bad. I quickly cancelled by Sunrun contract and went with Moonlight.

The price difference between the 2 companies is about 10%, but will worth it. You really get what you pay for. The personalize service is outstanding. They keep you in the loop and makes sure everything is done correctly. They will take care of everything. Everything was installed in December and my meter was installed mid December. I can't wait to see my next DWP bill and to receive lots of credit to use during the summer months.

I just purchased an investment property and I have already contracted Ziva to install solar panels there too.

Sammy just left the house and did a great job in fixing a repair that was due to faulty work from a prior handyman. He was very quick and knowledgable. He found the problem fast and made it safe until we can get the rest of the repair done. He didn't gouge me for a Sunday call either. I would highly recommend. Will post update after rest of work completed.

Do not install solar in your home until you give Moonlight Electrical an opportunity to bid on the job! Sammy and Ziva are hands down the most knowledgeable electricians I dealt with when I installed my solar system. I kept track of not only the bottom line price but the equipment that was going to be used. After obtaining four quotes and hearing what everyone was offering I researched the equipment they were planning to install. Across the board, Moonlight Electrical was not only using top of the line and highest quality materials but their bid was the most competitive by a wide margin. On top of that, once they started work, they found some pre-existing damage to the roof. We had noted a small leak months before when it last rained and our contractor was unable to locate it then. Moonlight Electrical recommended a roofing contractor and we asked them to bid on the repair along with two others. The contractors that Moonlight Electrical recommended came in at under half what the next lowest bid was and they did fantastic work.

Once the installation was complete, they even stayed involved until DWP turned the system on. The unspoken hurdle with solar is that once the installation is complete, DWP takes months to okay it and turn the system on so what you just paid tens of thousands of dollars for is sitting idle until DWP decides they've collected as much money as they feel like taking from you. When other installers simply explain how they've completed their part and you have to deal with DWP and their endless delays, Moonlight Electrical remained involved and did all they could to expedite the DWP inspections and sign offs.

Since then, I have had Sammy back to do some more electrical work in the house and it is always done right with great attention to detail.

The summers seem to get hotter every year and we run our central air almost nonstop. In previous years our bi-monthly electrical bill would sometimes exceed $500 just for electrical. With record heat this year, we have paid just the minimum DWP connection fee.

Sammy and Ziva were excellent in all areas. There were no surprises, no delays. Ziva helped with the planning, billing and administrative elements of solar rebates from beginning and PAST the completion of the project. Sammy was never late, completed flawless installation as he promised. Sammy's workmanship is impressive. My panels look great! And he cleaned up at the end of each work day. Ziva and Sammy both helped me to coordinate several projects at my house at the same time. I highly recommend Moonlight Electric. If you're considering going solar, you'd be foolish not to get a bid from this great team. I'm just waiting for DWP to turn it on!

Dark times had fallen upon our family. The landlady insisted on her ""electricians"". If they were electricians I am The Queen of England. They arrived over two hours late and decided that the only reasonable explanation was a wire magically breaking somewhere in a wall. No clue which wall. There was a need to start tearing open walls. At least two days work. I am not The Queen of England but I sent them to The Tower (out the front door) and called Moonlight Electric Services at the suggestion of a friend. Behold - Sammy and his wife arrived, EARLY, found that an outlet had given out and that was the cause of our darkness. And then there was light... and our kingdom rejoiced! Call Sammy and Ziva and you will be very happy and be treated LIKE A QUEEN! (And not taken for a ride by unqualified morons.)

I had spoken to at least 5 companies .
Moonlight was very upfront and gave me the best quote out of all the companies I got bids from.
They give customer service a great name , and deliver old school style service , which is lacking in today's business.
I am definitely going to do business with Sammy .

I always choose to work with a family owned business because that is where you are able to find the most honest, hard working, and professional people out there. When you are a family business and live in the community you work in your reputation is everything...as you work primarily off referrals. Ziva and Sammy at Moonlight electric services are the perfect example of that. Sammy Lev came recommended to me from a colleague at Prudential / Berkshire Hathaway. I first called him to give an estimate on electrical repair work for a client in the Sherman Oaks Hills. He is easy to reach, responsive, and able to schedule work within a short time frame.

Sammy showed up when he said he would, did a thorough review of the site, and gave a good estimate.

I have since asked Sammy to do electrical work for me at my home. He changed our entire panel, including getting the permit and arranging for the inspection. Again, very honest, responsive, and reasonable. He also gives good advice on what we can be doing overall to help manage our electrical bill in the long run. When I have a follow up question or issue, he is right there.

I think he is top notch, as are his associates. I am happy to recommend him to others.

We got 24 panels from them for our roof for solar - and . We had met with 2 other companies before them - they were just salesman who passed the paper work off to someone else, and their pricing was higher. Sammy and Ziva took care of everything from start to finish, and we always felt we were in good hands. I would highly recommend them!
