At the age of 9, Luke Mooney began his journey in electrical and HVAC work, shadowing a mentor on occasional jobs for relatives and friends. He began by watching from afar, then volunteered, eventually working part-time for a friend's HVAC company. After graduating high school, Luke joined a national service company as an electrician's assistant. Following a year on the road, he earned an Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology from Calhoun Community College and a certification from the National Air Conditioning Repair School (NARS) in Huntsville, AL. He passed his HVAC Contractors Exam on the first try and started Luke Mooney Heating and Air in 2013 as a side business while continuing his work as an electrician. He passed the Alabama Electrical Contractors Exam in 2016 and formed Mooney Electric, which is now his main business.
