At the age of 9, Luke Mooney began his journey in electrical and HVAC work, shadowing a mentor on occasional jobs for relatives and friends. Initially observing from a distance, he progressed to volunteering, then took a part-time role at a friend's HVAC business. Upon finishing high school, Luke took a full-time position with a nationwide service provider as an electrician's helper. Following a year on the road, he earned an Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology from Calhoun Community College and a certification from the National Air Conditioning Repair School (NARS) in Huntsville, AL. Luke aced his HVAC Contractors Exam on his first attempt and founded Luke Mooney Heating and Air in 2013 as a side venture while he worked as an electrician. In 2016, he successfully completed the Alabama Electrical Contractors Exam and created Mooney Electric, which has become his full-time enterprise.
