I was in need of an electrician to install an electric car charger/outlet at my home. After doing research on Yelp, I contacted Monticello Electric, received a quick response and was able to schedule a visit to get a quote in short order.

Joe came out to my home on a Wednesday morning, examined the job, gave me an estimate and we scheduled installation for the following Tuesday.

Less than 24 hours before my scheduled install date, I received a voicemail from ""the electricians"" stating that my landlady had not approved the car charger installation and associated costs and therefore my appointment was being rescheduled until further notice. Oddly, I own my own home and do not have a landlady.

I promptly returned the call and realized there was nothing but confusion about who I was, what my landlady (who does not exist) had/had not done to delay the scheduled work, etc. I was offered to reschedule my appointment, with zero reasons given as to why (nor any type of apology for the mix up), for an entire week later.

Rather than engage with this company, who in my experience does not prioritize customer service and appears quite unorganized, I decided to go elsewhere to get the work done. Based on my experience: proceed with caution.

I called in need of a Electrician, I spoke with Joe.He was at my house in 15 minutes. He diagnosed the problem immediately. Iam still working with him on the problem. He did give me power so i can live with more comfort temporarily. He's great! I do recommend him!

Five stars are just not enough! Monticello Electric, AMAZING! I had so much to do with new Home, rewired the entire garage , removed old 1967 wiring, can lights, pendant lights, adding outlets, kitchen chandelier, ceiling fans, the list is endless. 100% Amazing work. Even after the fires they came back to work. Super nice and great price! We would and are recommending Monticello Electric to anyone I know who needs an electrician!
Oh I forgot, the weekend we moved in, we found that none of the outlets on one wall and one on another had no power.. uggg.
Just another problem to add to the list.
I told Joe, he kindly went up stairs while working on the other issues and found the problem. I mean he is a trooper! Soon to be fixed!

I like this couple because they cared about my needs. They were flexible enough to meet my schedule, courteous in letting me know when to expect them, professional in the way they analyzed my lighting problem and efficient with the use of my time. He is a hardworking efficient electrician. He will come on weekends or even Sundays. He replies to your calls immediately. I am so glad we found him in yelp. He had installed 6 lights in 3 1/2 hours. His price is also fair.

Read all the 5 star reviews on Monticello Electric. Seriously, I don't get it. The gentleman running this ""garage operated"" business never followed through on finishing the job. We have now contacted another electric company. Trust me when I say this, you can do better. You will get what you pay for from Monticello Electric. And I do not mean that as a positive.

I'm reading all of these 5 star reviews and I feel like I should add one more. I lost power to my hot water heater and traced it by myself to a bad breaker. I called numerous electricians and got busy signals for all of them except two. One I made an appointment for 4 days from now. Joe said he could be by in about 20 minutes. He quickly figured out that the breakers were good and began tracing what the problem was. His response was stunningly fast like another review and I really couldn't be happier. Will definitely use them whenever I have a problem.

Stunningly fast response time, non-pushy, great advice and super diligent and competitive. These guys gave me an excellent experience when my 30+ yr old main breaker wouldn't switch back on (3 days after moving in).

The next day I had a brand new box and they came in under quote. Can't beat that! Thank you Monticello Electric!

Joe installed a new power service replacing a old glass fuse setup that must have been original from 1941.
There was scary dryer power that was also put in the new service.
Very happy with work I'm glad we found him.
I would not hesitate to have him do any AC work the estimate he gave was good.
