Josh M.Mike and his team were phenomenal. I did a great deal of research going into this process. I wanted to add some recessed lighting to my condo and Modern electrical services over delivered. Mike was generous enough to instal additional lights that I purchased on amazing for free and taught me how to go about replacing and maintaining the lighting his team had just installed. They did a stellar job at a very competitive price and I am so happy with the result!
I hired Modern Electrical Services to troubleshoot a power outage that I had. It's an old house and it was recommended that I do a complete re-wiring. I knew this was something I had to do because of previous work and inspections, so i agreed. They gave me an estimate for 2 days of work. This included replacing the old wiring and to also separate our Garage from the Kitchen to two separate circuits (this is why we had an outage).
2 guys came over and worked hard all day to complete the job. They were very nice guys. I started to get the sense that they were rushing a bit because they happily told me that they might be able to get the job done in one day. I thought, ""great!"". They did finish the job in one day, but then when it was time to write the check, they demanded that I pay the full price of the estimate (the full 2 days of work). I argued, of course, that I didn't think this was fair since they didn't work 2 days, but they argued that I was agreeing to a set price for the job and not an estimate. This was clearly BS, but I was glad the job was done and chalked it up to buyer remorse and rationalized it away AND to be a nice guy about it, I paid the full amount.
Flash Forward about a year and a half later, our power went out and when I checked into it, I discovered that everything was STILL on one circuit; they never separated the Garage from the Kitchen. I called and asked that someone come out and look at this and fix it. It took them a long time to come out, but they finally came out ONLY to look at the situation. He left and said that they probably just forgot to do that and that it wouldn't take long to correct. THAT was about 2 months ago. I have been calling on a regular basis and I'm told every week that they will set something up next week. They are CLEARLY now just dodging my calls because they don't want to COMPLETE the previous work (I'm assuming because it's not a new big high paying job).
It's Ironic because I technically have ALREADY paid for this 2nd day, so it's not like they are not getting paid. I just want them to finish the job. It's too bad, because now, not only does it look like I will have to pay someone else to fix THEIR mistake, but I was fully prepared to give them more electrical work around our house.
Update: they came out and separated the Garage, but said it would take too much time to trace the line and run it through the house, so now we have a half inch conduit wrapping around the outside corner of my house. Again, if the guys finished the job the first time, it would have been done right. I'm bumping up my rating because they finished without asking for more money and everyone was super nice, but I have no reason to use them again. Honestly, if someone doesn't return my calls and doesn't want to schedule work, then they must not need my business.

Alma N.I first called the company for a plug in station for my electric car. They responded ASAP did a great job! I was so pleased with their work and work ethic that I called them later to upgrade my whole electrical panel.
This was a huge job with a Glendale city permit added to the work other.
They completed the job and Glendale inspectors approved the work. I site the name of the city as Glendale is super strict in approving jobs.
The work crew was courteous and answered all of my questions. Having electrical work done is scary and I chose Modern Electrical after I read their many positive reviews. Everything functions as promised and better!
Alan C.Update: 6 days after a negative review, I got a response back. They said they didn't know what happened and apologized for the late response. They were able to schedule an appointment as soon as the next day but I wasn't available so we scheduled another day. They came out and provided a quote and even followed up a few days later to schedule the actual installation. I decided not to use them even though their rate was competitive. I went with the an electrician that was the first to come out to provide a quote (very responsive) and was ultimately, also the cheapest for the San Gabriel Valley area. They requested I update my rating, which I'm doing based on the callback but not on the service since I went with someone else.
Original Review: I got an initial response, ""We will schedule an estimate to come out"" but never got any follow up. Now it's almost two weeks and multiple Yelp messages later to request availability and they have yet to respond via Yelp! or call. Business must be so good that they can't be bothered with new customers.

Found them online and don't regret about it. I needed security cameras up and few sensor lights outside as well as some LED lights inside. By the way the tech actually gave us that advice of putting LED's since it's energy saver. The tech was very professional and respectful. He knew exactly what he was doing rather just reading the manual. He cleaned after himself. He explained everything to me in details and didn't mind if I asked something 3 times. He took the time explaining to me. The job was done sooner then I thought it would. I'm a very very picky person and if I'm recommending something that means it was very very good. They came recommended by Tesla and they did not disappoint. They initially gave me a quote to install electric vehicle chargers for my condominium unit but after a year, my HOA did not proceed with it and I decide to ask them to re-quote me for my own installation. They are always patience and responsive despite it has taken them over a year before getting my business. Their staffs were professional and completed the work on time. Even after I fully paid them, they follow through with getting my permit approved from my city. I would use them again and would recommend them to others.
Breanne L.So we hired Modern Elect. to complete several electrical-related upgrades to our home in the last couple of months (new outdoor fixtures, motion lights around our perimeter, bathroom fan/light, rangehood installation, interior and exterior outlets added, and hardwiring our Ring doorbell). Although Zack's estimate was the highest out of the 3 we received, he was willing to negotiate on the price - and he seemed like the most interested in booking the job and offered several other small things he noticed that needed replacing/fixing if he were to book the job (such as replacing a few old outlets and outlet covers with new ones, repairing an open hole in our stucco that the previous electricians left, and covering up some exposed wire).
During the course of the job, his partners Marat and Vic were amazing! They were very professional, changed things if I didn't like how it looked, asked for my opinion before making holes for new fixtures, and even brought me a home-made Armenian dish, which was delicious! I was very comfortable while Marat & Vic worked through out our home, while my two babies and I were there most of the days.
There were a few low-voltage items that were left for Zack to complete towards the end of our job, and as he completed these things, I reminded him of the several small ""promised"" items from when he gave the quote. He was a little hesitant at first, it had been a long time since that original quote was made, but in the end he took care of EVERYTHING he promised me he would. I'm not one of those people who forget the little things ;)
Overall, I am super grateful for Zack and his team of electricians, I would definitely hire them again. Thank you for following through on your word, Zack, and working with us on payments!
