Me and my wife wanted to change the lighting in our kitchen, replace and install 2 ceiling fans, and replace our old thermostat with the nest. We had multiple quotes and Modern Electric was the most reasonable. Jimmy showed up on the day and time they scheduled. They started and finished the work in one afternoon. He initially told me they would have 2 guys working but after 90 min. 2 more workers showed up to finish and clean up the job. We have wood floors and dust was everywhere, they vacuumed, dusted, and mopped the floors. Everything works as planned and the owner came by to look at the finished work. We didn't like one of the light switches they installed and he changed it at no extra charge. Also Jimmy noticed we had a bunch of our kids usb chargers in our living room outlets. He changed out 2 of our outlets to include 2 USB ports each at no extra cost. We would definitely recommend/use Modern Electric again.

Jimmy and his crew are the best . Hired to finish 25 room air-conditioner units install and panels upgrades.for small motel . I haven't seen any crew or owners this professional. Their work is best . I never had to look back or be worried about finishing job and results. I recommend SLO county modern electric. It's worth the money spent.

This company is the BEST!! The crew arrives on time, if not early, is professional and gets the job done so efficiently. I'm amazed at the work they do. I just had 2 can lights and a ceiling fan put in today and am so pleased with their work.

Jimmy the owner was very helpful and understanding his guy John was there super fast and replaced our panel in an emergency. Im so glad I called them cause I was in a serious pickle! If you need someone call Modern Electric ask for the owner.

Jimmy was great from Modern Electric. We needed a circuit breaker put in for our spa. Another electrician hemmed and hawed and said it could be done but would be expensive. Not Jimmy from Modern Electric, he sized up the job in 5 minutes, gave us a reasonable quote and had the job done two days later. On time, efficient and good work at a reasonable price. Perfect!

Having used three of the top electrical contractors on three different projects in our house we found Modern Electric to be the most reasonably priced and cooperative . They rewired a conversion of a one bedroom apartment in our house installing a sub panel, all new wiring throughout the unit and seperating it from our main house. They were very responsive to several problems that needed to be fixed, not of their making and fulfilled all of the contracted items in a timely manner. Modern Electric did an amazing job installing recessed lighting in our family room. The crew was knowledgeable, friendly and quick! They were careful about not making a mess and made sure I was happy with the job before they left. The lights look great and make a huge difference.

I've also used Modern Electric at my business. There were issues with our panel and our tech company suddenly lost power. Time was of the essence, but Jimmy sent someone out within an hour and fixed the problem. We were able to keep productivity going. Highly recommend.

After having some bad past experiences with electricians in the county I used to live in, I was very skeptical of all electricians. After reading the Yelp reviews on this page, I called Modern Electric to have my panel upgraded on the house I just bought. I spoke with the owner, Jimmy. He was very professional, answered all my questions, and his quote was better than other companies. When the job was completed, everything went exactly how he explained it would from our first phone call/ quote. Over all my experience was definitely worth a 5 star yelp review and if it was possible to give more stars, I would. Don't even waste time calling other companies trying to squeeze every nickle they can out of you. Go for these guys. Good price, great service, and as knowledgeable as they come!

Had an emergency at my second barber shop with lighting on a Friday at 5pm. I called and left a message, two minutes later Jimmy and his crew called and 20 minutes later they were there to suggest and help! They found the short and rewired extra lighting at the same time to help me with my haircuts! I had been wanting to install them for a while and guess this was meant to be!

I would recommend this place without hesitation as they are honest and will treat you with respect! The technicians were also friendly and keep in mind it was the end of the day Friday!!!

I wish all places were like this place! They are really great with customer! They are a local family owned business!

Modern Electric supports the local football program also and many other local events!
