Had an emergency at my second barber shop with lighting on a Friday at 5pm. I called and left a message, two minutes later Jimmy and his crew called and 20 minutes later they were there to suggest and help! They found the short and rewired extra lighting at the same time to help me with my haircuts! I had been wanting to install them for a while and guess this was meant to be!

I would recommend this place without hesitation as they are honest and will treat you with respect! The technicians were also friendly and keep in mind it was the end of the day Friday!!!

I wish all places were like this place! They are really great with customer! They are a local family owned business!

Modern Electric supports the local football program also and many other local events!

The ceiling lights in our house went out in 3 rooms.
Reading the reviews on Yelp led me to Modern Electric and Jimmy.
He was booked solid for a few days, and suggested I call So. Cal. Edison to have them check out the panel, that the problem may lie there. It wasn't.

MODERN ELECTRIC is AWESOME!!!!! What a treasure. They first did work on my house in Morro Bay. They made the whole process SO easy. Easy to schedule, showed up on time. Sweet & professional guys. I had two light fixtures that needed to be connected to the same switch. The electrician showed up and went straight to work, and completed the job in less than an hour. I was so very happy with his work and work ethic, that I got on their schedule for more small projects that I'd wanted done for a long time. As we speak, switches and plugs are being added to my back yard for much needed lighting. MODERN ELECTRIC is just the BEST.

The responsiveness, communication and professionalism was all you could ask for in an electrician. The job was handled quickly and he took care of all the permits and coordinated the job with PG&E. He also worked around my schedule to minimize the impact on my family. Modern Electric's work was very high quality and the finished product looks great.

Unfortunately, I needed to deal with my insurance company on this project and Jimmy went well above and beyond to accommodate the various roadblocks and reporting hurdles they put in our way. I know this was a pain in the ass for him, but he did everything that was requested in a timely manner with no complaints, and to top it all off, he then reached out to me after the job was completed to see if the insurer paid the claim.

He had quick and consistent contact with me throughout the project. The job area was left clean.
