Overpriced, set fees. I was told my smoke detector was over 10 years old and needed to be replaced at a cost of over $200. I pulled it down myself and it is 7 years old, per date on inside of detector.

Everyone I engaged with at Mr. Sparky was excellent. Appointment was scheduled for 3pm but dispatcher called and said that Felix could come early. We weren't available until 2:30 so that's when he came.

Everything Felix did he explained first, told me why and then asked if that met my expectations. Refreshing!

Job took longer than expected but that was because of the length of the cable runs.

Do NOT use Mr Sparky. Disorganzied, terrible quality of work (almost burned my home down), and lack of customer service. Expensive, Disappointing and Dangerous, not qualities to look for in an electrician. I initially spent thousands of dollars AND I gave them a chance to to remedy the situation. They told me to pay another $269. So i got a local licensed electrician to fix it for $80. Never written a poor review in my life, but this i couldnt ignore.

Nice enough people but way over priced. I had to call them back 2 days after they left to redo the work because it failed inspection. For over $1000 worth of work I expect an inspection to pass first time.

Update. The manager Chris called me to follow up. While the original issues still occurred, Mister Sparky is a company that wants to make it right. Chris was very interested in hearing what exactly happened to learn from it and prevent it in the future. So, they are still a bit more expensive, and they may make a mistake BUT they will stand behind their work and make it right in the end. Great customer service, which is difficult to find these days, is deserving an updated review.

Total Rip off. We were in a bad situation. Had elderly parents staying here and the smoke alarms would not stop going off. They came out and charged us $145 a smoke alarm (4 alarms) plus $267 troubleshooting charge plus $59 travel charge. I looked up the alarms and they are $34 alarms at a hardware store. I understand charging for the parts but 4 times the retail cost. DONT USE THIS COMPANY.

It's a big company, based on the repair I had done their hourly price is $1,015.00 an hour. Nice people WAY WAY WAY too high priced. If you are forced to use them ask UP FRONT how much everything will cost. I suggest a local electrician who is not out to take all of your money for simple repairs. Don't use them is what I suggest!

Corey came out and was very professional and even gave me an estimate on a couple of things (replacing breakers) and a smoke detector even though he was our her for another reason. I would recommend the company and would use them again when it comes time to do the work that will be needed.. Thank You Corey You ROCK

I wouldn't trust Mister Sparky to change the batteries in my TV remote. I really wanted to rate them zero stars, but one is the lowest I can go. Luckily I realized how inept and over priced they were before any work was started and money changed hands.

On August 25, 2014 a Mister Sparky service technician (non-electrician) came to my home to quote a job for me and immediately do the work if I agreed. I needed an Original Hunter ceiling fan (cast iron) installed in a room that also needed to be wired. The wiring job was straight forward, with a 14/3 wiring run from an existing ""hot"" switch box to a ceiling box that he would install. There was ample attic room to access the joists and hang the box correctly for the heavier than usual (50+ lbs) fan. I let him explain to me what his plan was and quote me a price for the work.. First, I was appalled at his lack of knowledge about ""Original"" Hunter fans and how much they weigh. He suggested that an adjustable metal support bracket be used which was grossly inadequate to support the weight of the fan. He also admitted that he knew nothing of the differences between installing regular Hunter fans and Original Hunter fans. Then he really shocked me. He quoted almost $800.00 to do the work. This included $212.00 just to hang his inadequate metal support bracket and $99.00 to actually hang the fan. I couldn't get this guy out of my house fast enough after hearing this. I showed him the door and locked it behind him.

The next day (today) I had a real electrician (with a helper) do the work. They were very familiar with installing heavy ceiling fans and completed the job in 90 minutes. It was done professionally and properly. the total cost... $250.00

Mister Sparky seems to specialize in taking advantage of unsophisticated (not me) customers by exploiting their lack of electrical knowledge even though their own technicians are just as clueless. Their expertise is gouging customers rather than providing them quality service. Stay away from Mister Sparky!!!

He showed up and did a safety inspection and the polite man quoted me $1500 for several small jobs ($585 just to change out 4 GFIs and I already had the parts). Don't be sucked in like me because they say the $59 charge to show up goes into the work fee--they're going to quote you ridiculous prices! I quoted him back $300, and he ""called his manager"" and then dropped it to $565, which may have been close to a fair price but I was disgusted with the whole thing by then. I paid the $59 and sent him packing. Note to self: no Mr. Sparky ever again!

Worst rip off I've ever seen, and yet after reading the other reviews it looks like I got off cheap. The guy was there one hour, replaced two switches and one breaker and charged me $479.75.
