Recommended Customer Reviews
Thank you Thomas with Mister Sparky! You were very professional, knowledgeable and patient while fixing a laundry list of items throughout the house. I highly recommend them!! He took the time to explain all of his suggestions and answer all of my questions. He also wore a mask and was very careful in terms of COVID. Very trustworthy!!
We had a difficult job installing an outdoor ceiling fan. Stephen and Gerald worked hard and solved our problems. Communication with the company was great. They are excellent electricians and charged a reasonable amount for their work. I highly recommend Mr. Sparky. I don't understand all the negative reviews below. I am a real customer
The most unprofessional and fear mongering technicians in the business. I am a fairly experienced electrician myself and really did not want to do a job relating to outdoor high voltage lighting. The technician comes in and I specifically tell him that I need an outdoor gfci outlet replaced and he immediately started pointing out things that are not in code and would want to fix this and that and gave me a $1250 dollar price o btw the gfci outlet was 300 to replace omgeez
I understand profit making but this is ridiculous. He left my fixtures opened up while looking at the wiring did not bother to even close it when i told him i wasnt gonna pay for the stuff i had to literally tell him to close my fixtures as it was before he came tinkering with it and pretty much argued with me that it was lose before ????
Dont call them at your homes as they will profit even on your coffins. Be Honest and compassionate and not sell fear to get sales. We all know high voltage is dangerous thats why we have circuit breakers and trippers
Don't use this company, stay away. Terrible customer service. Setting up appointment was easy. Appointment was for 12-4 today. At noon got an email that service was cancelled ""at customer request"". Called to find out what was going on. Found out that they used an old number on my file to contact me and not the number I gave them to contact me when I set up the appointment. Ok, honest mistake reschedule another appointment for 12-4PM today. Was assured that someone would contact me prior to coming over.
3:50PM nothing. Called office where I was told appointment is still scheduled for 12-4. Put me on hold. Came back and said they couldn't get hold of the tech but they would call me back soon. 4:30 PM still no word so called back again. Same story, can't get hold of the tech but someone would call as I had an appointment from 12-4. 5:00 still no word, called again for the same runaround. Was told that they are only the phone people and if they can't get hold of the tech there is nothing they can do. 5:30PM called to cancel the appointment for today and to reschedule till tomorrow. No appointments available. Was told a manger would call me nick on Monday. A won't hold my breath for that one.
I understand that sometimes things get backed up but the respectful thing to do would be to call the client and inform that they are running late. Not this company stay away!!!
Michael C.Stay away. The story repeats itself over and over. These guys came into my home with a soft quote and ended up with a quote thousands of dollars higher. They were 4x the price of other quotes. If you look at their reviews on employment websites a number of the employees / ex employees state that they are trained to sell stuff people don't need. Avoid at all costs.
Andrew R.We have a lovely elderly couple down the street who recently called Mr. Sparky to fix a dimmer switch in their kitchen (and one other issue). They ended up with an estimate of over $1,100.00 !!!! The husband has had a series of strokes, and can no longer perform these repairs. He also has mostly lost the ability to communicate, so - even though he fully understands what's going on - he's unable to tell this guy off! Part of this fleecing was to replace two circuit breakers to ""bring them up to code"". Thing is, I looked up the ""code"". It applies to DORMITORIES! Not to single family residences! This added $518 of UNNECESSARY cost to the bill!
Trying to take advantage of elderly people - NOT wealthy - who are on a fixed income makes me FURIOUS!
They luckily did not have the work done, and she called me. I replaced it in 5 minutes for the cost of the switch, $16.89. I want to encourage EVERYONE in the ATL area to avoid this company at all costs.
In summary, please never use Mr. Sparky. I've contacted the local TV consumer advocate. If they want to redeem themselves in ANY way, the LEAST they can do is refund the original trip charge of $49.00, which I have asked them to do.
If was a terrible experience. I will never use these people again.
Very scammy business and dishonest. Their call center took the call to schedule. I explained the job in detail.....I need two light bulbs changed on 20 Ft ceiling can lights and casing put back up on one of them. Quoted an approximate price but the technician came out and wanted to charge 800.00 dollars more than what was told. He took one look and wanted $600.00 to step onto a 20 ft. ladder because it would take two of them to change the bulbs. They weren't even equipped with the right ladder when I explained the job multiple times! What's more.....the technician admitted this happens all the time! Major breakdown of communication between the schedulers and local store! Consumers beware don't waste your time with these people - you will only be frustrated!
I called to have my appointment set up last week for today. Got my appointment and was told the technician would come to my home anywhere from 8-12. The tech showed up around 8:10am. That however is where the good ended. I was told that the estimate fee would be waived but the tech informed me that only if I choose them and it would be $49. I was like ok thinking the cost would just be part of my quote. I wanted to have a dedicated circuit ran for my microwave about 10 feet from the panel. I was given a quote for $827.00 Mr Sparky is just trying to rip off customers. I will not be going with them.
Do not use these scam artists....used them, guy came out and literally unplugged an appliance and then plugged it into another outlet and charged me $600 no lie. I called to complain and still haven't received a call back.
Ayaz S.I requested a service call to Mr. Sparky to look into my rental property. My tenant called me that power cut off in her bed room. Technician arrived at the job site and called me that he has to replace the bad circuit and gave me an estimate for $827. I asked him if there is any discount. He offered $785. In order to realize that it will be something complicated and for the inconvenience of my tenant I agreed to pay. When he emailed me the receipt, it showed replacing 5 receptacles and 1 switch. I went to my property and looked at the job done was a rip off. Tenant told me that he replaced those receptacles and switch in 30 minutes. The actual cost of receptacles and switch from Home Depot is not more than $25. I was very disappointed and will never use Mr. Sparky again.
