For my first ever appointment with them that I took a half of a day off of work for. They called 10 miniutes after their 2 hour window that I sat at home and waited for them during, to tell me that all of their techs had been called to one big job and asked to reschedule me to the next week. The appointment was made a week in advance and they should have advised me that they weren't going to be there before their time had expired and I waited all day for them. Reschedule? No thanks I'm not taking off more time from work for you to not show up again. Avoid at all costs, clearly not a professional service.

This is a tough review to write. I'm giving them a five as the tech who did the work (Michael) was excellent. The price for the service provided seemed reasonable, especially since it was done on a Saturday.

If I was simply rating the 800 call center, it would be a '1'. I explained what needed to be done and explained the materials required to do the job. The 800 rep insisted all of the items needed would be on the techs truck. I gave her detailed information on the project and the materials required and she said the tech would have everything needed. Well, he didn't. He explained to me that they never have the parts I needed on the truck. He took what I had and started the project while I went to the store and got what additional items were needed.

The folks at the 800 number can do two things well. Give you an appointment time and sell the warranty plan. I'd advise anyone to review what needs to be done with the tech when he calls prior to arriving at your house.

I already called them before I read these reviews. And yes they scared me. But my experience with mr. Sparky was good and I called their main office because the invoice went to the wrong spot and they were extremely helpful and responsive. Certified electric work is not cheap - unless you have an uncle that is an electrician? They were here on time and in short order to inspect the main breaker panel and install two circuit breaker's. Michael T. did a great job - first rate and very knowledgeable. I researched on the net for the going rate of two install breakers and Mr. Sparky was in the range described as customary. Yes, A little on the higher end of the range - but I know the job was done correctly and have 100% confidence in the result.

I called Mister Sparky to give me a quote on repairing my electrical problem. I had a water leak from upstairs that leaked downstairs into my ceiling fan and the leak cause the right side of the room to loose electricity. The repair man came out and I explained the situation. He did not look or examine any of the wall outlets but went outside to his van to compute me the cost. Again he never examined any outlets with any tools, but he came back with 3 estimates. Of course he explained all the safety and surge protection services that I needed to bring the house up to code. My home is 30 years old. The estimates were (1) $5,524.20 (2) $1,148.40 and (3) $744.30. Now remember he has not touched one outlet or even closely looked at any. Now as a retired Federal Investigator, I know that you should at least pretend that you examined something before you quote a price. Hell, he could have stayed in his office and gave me those quotes. Of course, I politely told him that all were too high but thank you. I called a friend who has a license electrician friend. The electrician came and examined each outlet until after the 3rd one found the problem. He billed me $75, I paid him $100.

Mr. Sparky was always considered a very reputable company.....BULL!!! They came to my house that is no more than 2500 square feet. Very small ranch style home. Apparently a trip in the fuse box caused the lights to go out in every room of my house except my daughter's room and my room only. My elderly father met two Mr. Sparky techs at my house while I was at work. They quoted him $10,000.00 Yes!!! $10,???.98 to rewire my house. I then called two electricians for a 2nd opinion. One quoted me under $500.00 and the second one jiggled the lever on the fuse box and my lights were restored. He explained I just needed to change out my sockets and all else was fine. DO NOT TRUST MR. SPARKY!!! Had it been left up to Mr. Sparky' conning selves conning my elderly father, I would've had to take out a loan just to cover up a loose lever on my fuse box! Question: Why didn't they try to check the fuse box again ???

I wish I read the reviews before hiring this company to fix my problem. A tree fell on my power line and I called this company to fix the problem. I was told that since my house was old that I needed to bring the house up to code and that the insurance company would pay for it. Long story short, the insurance company did not pay for it and now I am stuck with the bill. This franchise is full of scam artists all the way up to the general manager and they take advantage of people in dire situations. Please stay away from this company.

I am changing my review based on what happened this morning. The Operations Manager, Gerald, called me to ask about the review I posted yesterday. He was very apologetic and listened to my concerns. He determined that I had been overcharged (the technician was new) and promised to refund about $400 of the $986 dollars I was originally charged. In addition, Gerald promised that he would address the communication issues raised by my interaction with the technician, both directly and in a training context, so that all of his employees would learn from it. Though Mr. Sparky is still more expensive than the average in the Metro area, I am far more comfortable with the company since my interaction with Gerald.

Original Post (just for context): Way too expensive. Had a dedicated outlet installed for a piece of medical equipment. They charged me $986! If it had not been crucial, I would have told them""never mind"". I told the technician that I would probably be calling management to tell them their prices for the job were more than twice the average cost of that job in the Atlanta area. He proceeded to argue with me and trash other electricians, including the one I usually work with (who was unavailable).So, at the end of it all, I felt cheated, exasperated and disrespected. Stay away from this company!

Their info states they're open 24/7 but what they really mean is you can get someone on the phone 24/7, not repairs. We had an emergency and called around desperately for someone to come out to us and everyone either didn't show, didn't call back or couldn't come out for two or three more days (thank you, fine electricians of East Cobb). Mister Sparky was no different - the soonest they could send someone is in a couple days.
