During the recent snowstorm, Georgia Power told me I had to get an electrician out before they could restore power to my house. Mr. Sparky's quote was $4700. I said no thank you and paid another electrician $175 to fix the problem.

Shysters.
Had a Mr Sparky guy come out to look at a light fixture that had unexpectedly gone out about the same time as a dreadful, unidentifiable chemical smell had started up in our new house, a smell that had left many contractors of various types stumped, and had made one poor HVAC guy vomit, repeatedly, on my lawn. We only called Mr Sparky because it was an emergency, and not that many people answer the phone at 7pm at night.
Spoiler: the fixture wasn't the culprit, not even tangentially related. The Mr Sparky electrician presumably realized this quickly, because he immediately moved to telling me my breaker box was about to burn the house down. He backed this up by pulling up all sorts of scaremongering videos on his iPad for me to watch, and articles which basically said, ""yes, you're about to die, omg.""
What he didn't do was actually check the box. Which we'd had another electrician do at an earlier date: every single breaker in that box had been replaced since its initial installation, and had been recently tested. It was perfectly safe.
I told the Mr Sparky guy to write me a quote in an effort to get rid of him... which he did. He padded it with at least four other things I did not want and we had not discussed. His quote came to $5000, and it was still another ten or fifteen minutes til I managed to turf him out.
We got our regular electrician to quote us the same work (plus a few extra things)... and he'll do it for about 1/5th the cost. Funny, the HVAC guy had warned me about Mr Sparky. ""They'll try to rip you off!""
He was right.

On 11/27/17 I had the pleasure of working with Gary Lamb, an 18-year veteran electrician. Gary not only took great care to correctly install some complicated smart home light switches but he also noticed my whole-house surge protectors were no longer supported by the manufacturer and inadequate for my house. Gary did an excellent job installing new protectors and securing several loose and unrelated connectors in my electrical panels. I have always appreciated the work of Mister Sparky and I will now request Gary for all my future electrical needs.

Complete and total rip off! Technician, although seemed nice, was attempting to use scare tactics to have us do $5,000 worth of unnecessary work. I know this because I had another well respected company look at the same thing and told them I wanted the work done. The other company said someone was trying to take advantage of me, in fact nothing needed to be done with any of our electrical, that it was all perfectly fine. Wow, Mr. Sparky should be ashamed!!! If they tell you that you need a whole home ""re-device"" on a 15 year home, get a 2nd opinion before you do anything!! Oh and they took us for $220 (after their 15% discount) to do about 5 minutes of ""work"" to tell us of our supposed ""problem""

Friendly courteous, and knowledgeable service. Showed up when they said they would!

After weather related damage to our house, I had Mister Sparky come out to replace an exposed electrical main line, fuse box, surge suppressor, and some GFI outlets in the kitchen. The technician was very nice and seemingly efficient, although he did have to return to correct an error he made during the rewiring process. This was not a big inconvenience for us.
I agree with the other reviewers regarding Mister Sparky's exorbitant prices. The rates were outrageous. I am surprised my insurance company didn't protest. Don't be fooled by their slogan of charging by the job instead of by the hour. That's just a marketing spiel. The bottom line is always the customer's bottom line. In the case of Mister Sparky's inflated rates, it's the customer's sore bottom that's on the line.

SCAM!!! We had an electrical emergency. We called the call center after hours. They said they would have someone here today. I took the day off work to wait since they couldn't give a time frame. Then they call around 11 in the morning to say they are double booked and won't be able to come. They double book on purpose. In the meantime we have no electricity and I have lost a day. I would not do business with these people under any circumstances.

This is a ripoff company , just beware. Call the better business bureau. We didn't do our homework and paid through the nose. Tried to file a claim, but their site won't let you do that.we need Clark Howard do a story on this group

I had to get my 96 yr old grandma's bathroom light/fan fixed quickly. A Mr. Sparky rep came right out for estimate. He gave me several estimates of items that were not up to code. It was not only VERY EXPENSIVE, but the estimates did not contain details (cost of parts, labor, etc). In my haste, I just asked them to do the initial job of replacing the light/fan. I asked them for a heat light/fan and they charged me extra. I paid in full before they came out. I was very happy with the work that was done except they installed a standard light/fan. I call them to let them know it was ok. I just wanted to know how much they would refund me. I got no response. After a total of 4 messages to the company and 2 messages to the reps cellphone, still no response. Its unfortunate but I had to request a partial dispute through the credit card. Its really a shame because the electrician did a very good job. All in all, I would not recommend this company and I will not use them again.

Extremely expensive, go elsewhere! I was charged almost $400 for them to come to my home and compete a diagnostic. They ended up replaing a circuit breaker and two GCI receptacles. I would never use yet alone refer anyone else to them.
