I had Mr. Sparky come out to check an outlet that had gone bad. The electrician reset the GFCI outlet next to my panel and the outlet started working after that. He pulled the cover off my panel and then told me that I had a serious issue and that the whole panel needed to be replaced. The estimate was $4000.00 for everything that needed to be done and he urged me to do it right away because he said it's a huge fire hazard given the condition of my electrical panel. I called two other licensed electricians to come out and check my panel, both said everything was fine and there was no issue at all. I've left two messages with Mr. Sparky and no one has called me back to discuss this. Judging by all the comments on this page, it seems like recommending a full panel replacement is the standard recommendation with this company. Take your business elsewhere.

The tech got paid to look up at my ceiling. I was charged $90 for tech to come out. Chandelier cost $250 tech wants to charge $600 to put up.?????? You do the math.

The worst service I ever used. they made me feel very bad. I just need back out my power. They open the panel box, did not do any inspection, ask me replace the whole box for $10,000. The problem only set main breaker to the right position and power back on. I will never call them again.

I have a rental property and my property manager suggested Mr. Sparky come out to fix an electrical problem I was having with some outlets not working. They came out and said that my electrical panel busbar was melted and I needed a new panel and that it would cost $5000. I decided to get a 2nd opinion which was when I called another company to come out and take a look at it. They took a look at the panel and said that everything looked great but that I had 2 bad breakers that needed to be replaced. He went out there knowing that the prior company had said the panel was bad and could have easily over sold me but he was honest and I really appreciated that. I then asked him out of curiosity if he were to replace my electrical panel how much it would cost and he said $1800. So not only did Mr. Sparky flat out lie about the repair needed he also quoted me $3200 higher than what it should have been.

Outrageous pricing! They wanted to charge me $85 each to change batteries in 4 smoke detectors - and that was with a 15% discount!! Really? $340 to change 4 batteries?? It's not like they were located on 30 foot ceilings or something. So then the guy says he will do all 4 for a total of $85 if I purchase the other services he was quoting. Yeah right...

They might have great ""service"" but the pricing is insane. Like others have said, $60 just to come out. That's fine. All I needed was a new simple kitchen light fixture installed. I had the old fixture removed and everything ready. The technician tells me he needs to do a diagnosis, blah blah blah and it will be $160 dollars. I said forget it. I called a ""local"" company and a technician came out and put the fixture in in about 3 minutes and he also checked my outdoor lights that I was having an issue with all for $100. Do your homework before calling Sparky!

The electrician was very professional. Worked hard to do everything needed. He added an outlet and moved an outlet for s new washer and dryer. He cleaned up after his work and even hooked up my washer and dryer and put it in place so I could use it.
I called six other electrical companies but most could not come out for a week. Mr. Sparky came out the next morning. Called before they came and arrived exactly on time. I highly recommend their work.

Mr. Sparky is the most expensive electrical contractor in the country. Electricians are sent out to fix a specific problem. However if they can upsell and find other things wrong, the technician makes 40% on extra work. I received this info from an A+ rated Angie's list electrician. As soon as I said ""Mr. Sparky"" he was like oh no, don't ever use them. They are notorious for ripping people off.

Had recently called these people back out for an outlet that was replaced but failed my home inspection??!Talking about EXPENSIVE and waste my time calling them back out to fix the problem when it should not have been.. I found out I did not have to replace my $8k breaker like the electrician says.. Must be nice when some works strictly on commission! Never again!

If you have ""Higher Standards"" money to throw away, go right ahead. 08/13/2015 they quoted me over $4000 for a $200 job. What is even worst than that is after guesstimating me a quote between $3,500 to $5,000 he proceeds to threaten me with calling the electrical company to turn my power off because of the so called severity of my situation. All lies. Basically, if I wasn't going to use his service he would shut down my power right away......that's EXTORTION. All I asked for was a simple quote. Luckily for me I had already called another electrician earlier that morning (licensed and insured) who had came out, inspected the situation and gave me a quote of $200..... He was very honest, he bought a SurgeArrestor for $88 from Lowe's and charged me the rest in labor. I even went on to add a Surge protector which came up to a whopping $500.
I only allowed Mr Sparky to come by to give me a second opinion.
So in the end I had to call this electrician's manager and let him know that I'm not gullible, nor easily scared or startled...... mostly, I didn't have $4,000 just sitting around to throw away. Eventually, he called the electrician and maybe told him 'This is a smart one, go ahead and leave.'
The moral of this story is shop around..... and to hell with being endorsed by ""Ask Dale""..... What I should have done is ask Dale to pay the bill. :-(
