Lie's I had another company offering 25 off they offered 29 off but did not get it by trying to tell me that the 29 is on top of the work so I did get it but that was not the story nor common practice as the fee is normally waved if they do the job so I was over charged 137 for putting in GIF and switch which I had and took less the 30 minutes and there a total lack of cleanup

My tenant's TV stopped working and she suspected the problem with the outlet. She called Mr. Sparky to test that electrical outlet. Then my tenant, an 87 year old widow, calls me in panic. Mr. Sparky electrician said that ALL house outlets MUST be replaced! Including the ones for the stove, microwave and the fridge. He stated that someone did not install them properly/professionally. After scaring the occupant he quoted $1,800 to fix the outlets. Here is the math: 2 bdrm rental = 18 elec. outlets = $100 to replace ONE outlet.

A licensed electrician from another company tested all outlets and switches the next day. One needed a wiring corrected and another was inoperable. Cost of repair $50!!!

It's better to call a neighborhood electrician, the electrician who came to my house told me that there was an assessment fee which I was never told. Also they tried to over sell when the fee was 365.00 and they were selling me stuff for 1,500.

It looked like everything I was telling the electrician he would not like to do it, it was too much work and often said that it was going to cost me a lot, so I better not do it.

At the end, he charged me looking at an outlet that didn't work, and he didn't fix it, again, because it was too much work and he said I still had to pay because he took time to open the box and see that it needed a major job.

Not calling them again, they are lazy and they rob you.

I have used Mister Sparky for years, but today installed a new cable for my modem, and they charged me over $1600. I used to trust them, but now that trust is broken.

Justin called at 6:30 AM to discuss what my needs were. The phone call seemed inappropriately early to me. I told him what we needed, and he was upfront and told me that the flat rate cost for that service was $1600. I was shocked at the price, but told him to move forward. I felt certain that once the technicians got here and saw this 60-minute job, that the cost would be adjusted, but I was wrong.

James Bailey and David Freeman were the two guys who installed. They were excellent at what they did. They cleaned up the mess from the attic afterward. They had very good people skills.

When the two of them pulled up the invoice that Justin had already created based on our phone call at 6:30 that morning, one of them audibly gasped. He said under his breath, ""That can't...."" He didn't finish the sentence, but I'm assuming he was going to say ""That can't be right."" I don't think he thought I heard him. It was a completely natural and honest reaction on his part.

He looked at me with disbelief and said ""$1668""? I answered yes. That was the quote. I told him that I couldn't believe how expensive it was, but that we had to have it.

I hope David and James are being paid properly.

David and James worked for about 75 minutes, and were off to their next job. Since Justin charged us that much, I'm assuming those two guys must be making a couple of thousand dollars a day after completing 4 or 5 jobs a day. I hope they are.

After they left, I went online to see reviews of Mister Sparky. Over-charging is a common theme...The 84 year old woman who was over-charged just made me sad.

Again...the trust is broken with Mister Sparky.

We will be moving on and finding a new company for our future electrical work.

Former loyal customer.

I recently purchased a townhouse and found that it was lacking overhead lighting in a number of areas. I wanted to get the job done quickly and reliably, so I called Mr. Sparky. The tech came and spent quite a few hours there in the house and it seemed to take much too long to get an estimate complete. I would say that by the time he had his initial estimate completed he'd already been there four or five hours. In retrospect, it took much too long to get a simple estimate. As he was about to go to his truck and write up his estimate he told me that the price would be between $5000 and $6000 I said no problem. However, once he returned, his estimate was for $9200! I then removed one of the work items and brought the price down to 7700. Later that night I realized that I had wired an entire house for a little more than that and I realized I had been played a fool! NEVER AGAIN with this company!

Mr. Sparky did some good stuff. They were on time and then get the work done quick. The downside is that staff are on a commission so they try to sell you more expensive crap then you need. Further, you are overcharged and the staff HAVE TO collect right AND I DO MEAN RIGHT after the job is done. Thus God help you if you are not right there to pay them. I don't think that is a staff problem that is a problem of the upper management. If the management value quick payment over politeness then you get a company with a bunch of jerks. I will never use them again

Power out in one of my rooms. Called Mister Sparky and the price quoted was $1,936.80. Called an electrician from my church directory and he replaced one outlet in my room and the power was instantly restored. Total cost $49.00. Mister Sparky should be ashamed of themselves for attempting to gouge customers. Quoted $145.00 to install a small $29.00 fan from Home Depot. Watched YouTube and installed it myself for free. Will NEVER call this company again.

I am an 84 year, recent widow and Mr. Sparky took advantage of that and over charged me. Their work was shoddy, messy and the supervisor and another worker had to fix the drywall and attic floor damage.

The municipal inspector called them back to return power to the detached garage, which they had disconnected. They were obviously annoyed when the inspector required them to do this.

In short, they took advantage of an elderly person, did shoddy, messy and incomplete work for which they overcharged.

Overcharged for work that other electricians said was not necessary. I have rental in Northlake area and called them to fix a light that was not working in hall and bath, and they put in a new electrical panel, insisted it had to be installed in a new location to meet new code (found out later that is a gimmick to charge more), before they could do any work on repairs. Said they would repair the wall where they took out the existing electrical panel, and repair back to new (did poor plaster job and never came back to paint and finish wall repair). $7K later, I have an unsightly electrical panel in my dining room, and then they let me know the issue was just a wire had come loose from the screw at the outlet in the hall by the bathroom. I have never felt so taken. I have now found other electricians to work with and will NEVER use Mister Sparky ever. Not to be trusted.
