Outrageous pricing! They wanted to charge me $85 each to change batteries in 4 smoke detectors - and that was with a 15% discount!! Really? $340 to change 4 batteries?? It's not like they were located on 30 foot ceilings or something. So then the guy says he will do all 4 for a total of $85 if I purchase the other services he was quoting. Yeah right...

They might have great ""service"" but the pricing is insane. Like others have said, $60 just to come out. That's fine. All I needed was a new simple kitchen light fixture installed. I had the old fixture removed and everything ready. The technician tells me he needs to do a diagnosis, blah blah blah and it will be $160 dollars. I said forget it. I called a ""local"" company and a technician came out and put the fixture in in about 3 minutes and he also checked my outdoor lights that I was having an issue with all for $100. Do your homework before calling Sparky!

The electrician was very professional. Worked hard to do everything needed. He added an outlet and moved an outlet for s new washer and dryer. He cleaned up after his work and even hooked up my washer and dryer and put it in place so I could use it.

I called six other electrical companies but most could not come out for a week. Mr. Sparky came out the next morning. Called before they came and arrived exactly on time. I highly recommend their work.

Mr. Sparky is the most expensive electrical contractor in the country. Electricians are sent out to fix a specific problem. However if they can upsell and find other things wrong, the technician makes 40% on extra work. I received this info from an A+ rated Angie's list electrician. As soon as I said ""Mr. Sparky"" he was like oh no, don't ever use them. They are notorious for ripping people off.

Had recently called these people back out for an outlet that was replaced but failed my home inspection??!Talking about EXPENSIVE and waste my time calling them back out to fix the problem when it should not have been.. I found out I did not have to replace my $8k breaker like the electrician says.. Must be nice when some works strictly on commission! Never again!

If you have ""Higher Standards"" money to throw away, go right ahead. 08/13/2015 they quoted me over $4000 for a $200 job. What is even worst than that is after guesstimating me a quote between $3,500 to $5,000 he proceeds to threaten me with calling the electrical company to turn my power off because of the so called severity of my situation. All lies. Basically, if I wasn't going to use his service he would shut down my power right away......that's EXTORTION. All I asked for was a simple quote. Luckily for me I had already called another electrician earlier that morning (licensed and insured) who had came out, inspected the situation and gave me a quote of $200..... He was very honest, he bought a SurgeArrestor for $88 from Lowe's and charged me the rest in labor. I even went on to add a Surge protector which came up to a whopping $500.
I only allowed Mr Sparky to come by to give me a second opinion.
So in the end I had to call this electrician's manager and let him know that I'm not gullible, nor easily scared or startled...... mostly, I didn't have $4,000 just sitting around to throw away. Eventually, he called the electrician and maybe told him 'This is a smart one, go ahead and leave.'
The moral of this story is shop around..... and to hell with being endorsed by ""Ask Dale""..... What I should have done is ask Dale to pay the bill. :-(

A word to the wise do not use Mr. Sparky prices are outrageously super high. Shortly after they left I regretted every minute of having them work at my house. Over $400 to change out for smoke detectors, not to install just to replace for smoky detectors. About 15 to 20 minutes is all it took him to replace these at $400 are you kidding me.

Mr sparky attempted to make me happy by coming back out and I appreciate that but this is a case of too little too late. I still believe they are grossly overpriced and would not recommend them.

We call Mr. Sparky around three weeks ago because one of our breakers tripped. When my husband called on a Saturday morning they told him they were not able to come until Monday afternoon....where is the 24/7 service? I called again and told them that on one of the outlets that was not working there was a freezer full of meat connected and their answer was find an extension and connected in another outlet that is working. Finally the electrician came and he decided that the problem was on the different outlets and they had to be replace. They charge us $875 to replace around 10 -15 outlets. Three days after that visit...the breaker tripped again....so it was not the outlets. We call again and told them what happened and they said an electrician will come the next day.....they call the next day that the electrician was on a big job and will not be able to come until the day after.....they call again with the same story but we told them they have to send someone ASAP. Electrician # 2 came and even though we told him that the problem had to be on an outlet outside the house because the breaker tripped only when it is raining, according to him the problem was the freezer that has been plugged in the same place for 6 years. He wanted to change the outlet and was asking $1500.00 for it we said NO. The breaker has been working perfectly until the rains of this week that tripped again, we called Mr. Sparky again three days ago since they still have not fixed the problem and we are still waiting for the electrician to come. I will never use them again

On a Friday, I had a back porch light installed with a light sensor which I was charged $129 for the installation. Technician was very nice, professional & helpful. After installation he tested the fixture by covering the sensor to block out the light and said it was working. However, a good experience turned bad quickly as when it turned dark the light feature did not come on. I can certainly understand things going wrong but I cannot understand the lack of customer service and empathy for the client. I called Mr. Sparky that evening and explained the situation and the phone representative was more interested in following a script then in the problem at hand. Finally, I was informed that the next available appointment was Monday from 12 -2- and that there would be a $89 trip charge!! I told her she must be kidding and apparently had not heard a word I said. I asked to speak to a supervisor. After a long wait on hold I was told the supervisor was not available and that she would call me back. I tried to reason with her that due to the circumstances she should see about getting someone to come out Sat or Sun so that I wouldn't have to take any more time off from work but was told again that there was no openings till Monday but that she would do her best to try and get someone out early Monday morning. I'm not holding my breath on that!! Nor do I have faith that a supervisor will ever call me back. In calling Mr. Sparky I never realized how impossible it would be to speak to someone in authority. All you get is an answering service that is more concerned about following a script than in getting customer complaints promptly attended to.
