I used Mister Sparky after seeing their truck at a neighbor. I called and was told the price for visit was 79$ but there is a discount for first visit of $20 so would be $59. When the techs came to switch out two timers which I supplied, turns out it was $228 instead ! I needed it so did it. One day later, one of the switches did not work. I called, another tech came, criticized the first techs doing wrong job, and fixed it finally. The first techs Josh and another new tech, took the switches that were replaced with them despite me wanting to return them to Home Depot for the $60 refund I could get. Since then I have called 5 times, had to explain the situation 5 times, never got a phone call back from manager, and pretty much told forget. Josh apparently ""threw away"" the original switches, for no reason (I think he kept them as they worked fine just not the way I wanted them to). Don't use these people cause you will never get satisfaction.. Terrible neglectful follow up .. and they could care less. Jim L Oakland Park FL

I called this company for a quote to install a new telephone jack. They would not quote over the phone so I set up an appointment. After I called, something told me to call back and check to see if the estimate was ""free"" . Good thing because I was told it would $19.95. So I said I wanted to cancel and the next thing they waived the fee. Okay, so the appointment was for between 10 and 1 PM. I get an early morning call to request an earlier time. Fine. The man who came , Jonathon, was a really nice person. I showed him where I needed the new telephone jack. He then quoted me an absurd charge of $525.00 for the work. I told him at once that I had a much lower quote and was just doing my due diligence in getting 3 quotes to compare. The next thing he did was call his supervisor in front of me and guess what, the new quote was $298.00. At this point I would not have used this company for any reason based on the was they tried to take advantage, even if the second quote was lower than the one received from another reputable company. (which it wasn't - it was still a lot higher!) I'm 75 years old and the guy maybe thought I was dumb and senile.
P.S. Just had a great company (Simon Electric LLC) install a new jack and fix a GFI and the charge for the jack was $175 and $50 for GFI. There are some good, honest companies out there. I would recommend this company and I am going to write a separate review.

Eddie was very informative in what we should do for the future of our condo, he even gave advice about us having smoke detectors in each bedroom (something that wasn't brought up doing our inspection or made an issue when purchased the condo a year ago through a company I won't mention. hmmmmm

Shame on this company!
They charged me the ridiculous amount of $651 for JUST REPLACING my 17 old light bulbs with new LED bulbs that I PROVIDED!

I bought a rehabbed house in June, and it passed a very thorough inspection. I asked Mister Sparky to come out because they had done some work for our son about 4 block away, both of our houses in Boynton Beach. They put in 2 ceiling fans and changed the light switches on 3 others, but also said I needed a new outside box. Since I am 70 and not familiar with electrical I thought they would know. $7500 I was charged . I also was told that I probably needed get a new electrical box housed in the garage. I knew this already because of the inspector. I had to wait until I had more money and then had them back out. This time they ONLY charged $5500. Later when we were down in our house for the holidays, Mister Sparky called to say there were questionable items on the permit and it didn't pass city inspection. Meantime I purchased a washer and dryer, but couldn't install because Mister Sparky moved the dryer switch to the opposite wall for the dryer and the outlet for the dryer vent. A friend told me of a licensed electrician and he moved the outlet to the proper place. Mister Sparky did not give me a senior citizen discount or refund of the cost of the outlet until several managers were involved. So far this has taken over 3 months. I finally received the first senior discount and the refund for the outlet. Still waiting for the second refund. Beware of hidden costs and things they want to add to your bill. I spent over $12,000, which was not necessary.

Had a problem with my first visit by a new technician and wrote about it. Got a call from the General Manager who apologized and sent his Manager to solve and correct my concerns. This type of great customer service is not that usual and we applaud that quick recovery. Will continue to do business with Mister Sparky. Thank you for your help.

The technician call me after the 4 hour window pass I understand that was not his fault they have send him far a away for a job and the worst part is the lack of communication. They have not explained that it will take 7 to 8 hours and they give me an appointment from 4 to 7 window .

AWFUL!!!! I called this company because I had three outlets not working- presumed a tripped gfi but I could not find it- maybe a breaker or fuse- no big deal. They sent a guy who they said was licensed and insured which may be the case but arrived at my house in Boca to meet with my husband as I was called out to work. He was polite on phone and when he called to say he was coming I asked if he could fix a face plate on a light switch going into my garage. I Also asked him to give me a price on installing a lite above my island. He told me that he would call me when he got to residence- which never happened. Instead- he met my husband- he did not stay more that 5 minutes- he did not test one thing- he took the panel off and took pictures - spoke like a used car salesman and quoted 14, 000 in one estimate and 11,000 on another. Here's the best- my house wiring was completely redone by reliable electric less than three months ago. I did not call reliable b c I know how back logged they are- thinking this would be simple and boom boom. They either are envious- or have serious issues with my husband- or perhaps just plain don't know what they are doing. The babbling on this estimate is really grounds for a complaint. I would never recommend them. Folks that live in Boca need to be very cautious as this person thought I was a home run. Not happening here pal! I say shame on them- if the city of boca has no issues with how my new wiring was done this guy was clearly not knowing what he was doing. A total waste of my time. Only use Reliable- lesson learned.

I had to get my 96 yr old grandma's bathroom light/fan fixed quickly. A Mr. Sparky rep came right out for estimate. He gave me several estimates of items that were not up to code. It was not only VERY EXPENSIVE, but the estimates did not contain details (cost of parts, labor, etc). In my haste, I just asked them to do the initial job of replacing the light/fan. I asked them for a heat light/fan and they charged me extra. I paid in full before they came out. I was very happy with the work that was done except they installed a standard light/fan. I call them to let them know it was ok. I just wanted to know how much they would refund me. I got no response. After a total of 4 messages to the company and 2 messages to the reps cellphone, still no response. Its unfortunate but I had to request a partial dispute through the credit card. Its really a shame because the electrician did a very good job. All in all, I would not recommend this company and I will not use them again.
