Everything was really good except the price. I had my [pregnant] wife take care of the situation because I needed to take the kid to the dentist during the time of the appointment.

We needed a switch replaced on one of our can lights, and we needed the transformer changed for our doorbell... over $900 and approximately $400/hr in labor.

The cost of the doorbell transformer change was a bit steep, but I will say reasonably high at $350.

What shocked me more was the price to change a switch at $500. Just a standard light switch to a ceiling light (not dimmable, nothing special). They cost less than $10.

They also charged another flat fee of around $60 for coming out.

Even if you double the retail price for parts both the switch and the transformer would easily be under $100 combined. So we essentially paid over $400+ an hour for labor. I can't help but wonder if it was because I let my pregnant wife handle it or if this is standard pricing for their company.

They did get the job done though with zero delays, I just could not justify using them again with that level of pricing unless it was an absolute emergency.

My technician Mr. Tony was phenomenal. Took the time to explain all the issues I was facing in my home and, most importantly, also shared my options. However, in going through my options, he also was patient in answering each question. As a bonus, he taught me the differences in the types of components in my breaker box and how to test them monthly. ABSOLUTELY first class technician! And OBTW, once my wife and I determined the option for us, he effectively and efficiently corrected all the issues! THIS is the service one expects! Choose Mr. Sparky for sure!

Andrew came and installed some pendant lights, chandelier, and a high ceiling fan for us same day. He was on time, efficient, and even gave us some added advice on some other projects. The technician was great and did a thorough inspection. I was given the results of the inspection only to find out it had nothing to do with my issue. I then learned it would be $700 dollars to find the problem. I ended up calling a private company to complete the repair.

I was very concerned about an electrical burning smell (and one evening a smoke smell that accompanied it). The first available appointment was one week out. One hour before their arrival window, I received a phone call telling me they would not be out for another week. This was very distressing. I try to be understanding during Covid, but understand the burning smells were a little alarming and the last-minute reschedule was a bit of a shock.

The electrician was nice enough, but since my main problem that I was very specific about when I made the appointment was an electrical burning smell in a certain area of my home, it was very inconvenient that he would not lift his mask to smell the smell, which was very faint when he was here. I respect the Covid masks and I even offered to put an N95 over my surgical mask. No luck, which I respect.

This second appointment should never have been set if their technician has to smell it in order to diagnose. I asked about checking outlets and the panel and what could be done to try and determine anything, but there was no attempt to diagnose further. I had specifically asked when setting the appointment if there was equipment to diagnose if certain outlets could be problematic, thermal image the panel, etc., and was told there was. In person, there was apparently nothing he could do.

I cannot recommend this company because they did not show the first time and the second appointment should never have never been set if they have to use their sense of smell for diagnosis which is going to be tough unless the smell is very strong. This whole mess has cost me two weeks and now I have to find another company.
